    Thanks for your informative message. For updates error, I also have this issue and wrote a mail to Sonos team too. They advise me to connect a cable from ARC to router due to many noise. Seem then, there was no issue when updating. Hope may narrow down with other option in future. Happy working. 😅

    Great video! I have one issue with Trueplay, when I ran Trueplay with my ones as rears, I would get uneven sound as the right was overpowering the left, the right one was about 3 feet away from my mlp and the left about 5 feet away, isn’t Trueplay supposed to compensate for that? I encountered the same issue when setting up my era 300s as surrounds, I had to run Trueplay closer to the right speaker to trick it in lowering the volume. In my old apartment trueplay used to fix issues with volume caused by one speaker being closer than the other but this seems like a more recent issue.

    Hi Peter, any comments on the latested update on 7 May 2024? My pair of Era 300s disappeared from the app after the update. No matter how i pair them again, it just keep disappearing!

    Hi, I have an Arc and 2 X Ones with a Gen 3 Sub. In the EQ section of the App, the L R Balance isn’t working and the loudness toggle isn’t either - any suggestions? Having the balance working would be so helpful 🙏

    Peter - when is Sonos going to allow dual sub for music? - not any soundbar: I want to add a second sub with my gen3 sub & two 5”s - what’s the hold back??

    They changed the sound a little with era 300’s as rears with the arc and sub gen 3. I use the “ready player one”race scene like most people to test Atmos every time I do a retune with trueplay or there’s an update. So that is a lot. During the race which starts around 12:30 and goes until around 16:00 when the main character slides under the truck and collects coins in his car the sound comes from the era 300’s. I felt it sounded unbalanced with the arc and it used to be imho too loud and irritating to the point where I felt the era 300’s needed to be lowered from “0” to “-3” to be less irritating. It now sounds more balanced and way less irritating at “0.” So something was adjusted.

    My uodate says 16.1, not 16.1.1…is this the same?…just checked and each individual speaker says 16.1.1 but in About My System it says 16.1, so I guess all is good.

    Same here, mine say 16.1, but in the details of each is 16.1.1! Everything seems to work 🤔 but I got an error during the update process (that might cause the version difference ?).

    My Beam worked perfectly withthis update until yesterday where it just stopped responding. Tried reboot without any luck. And it won’t reset to factory settings. When I try resetting it just keeps on flashing white. So it is bricked😔 Maybe it’s not because of the update, but just saying……

    It should be known that 16.1 broke the communication from eARC/ARC projectors such as the LG HU810pw. Only solution is to make the Sonos ARC powerless and reconnect power and then the link via HDMI will be re-established When trying to inform Sonos support on the matter they instead of appreciating the input inform the user that their equipment does not support any projectors (even those with eARC/ARC ports).

    The app won't show an update. It's the firmware for the devices. Settings > System > About My System. Scroll down to a device or devices and look at "Version: x.x.x (build xxxxxxx).

    The newest update bricked my Sonos Roam but works fine on my two one SL. I haven’t reached out to Sonos yet since it’s out of warranty now.

    There is a noticeable difference to dialogue in my opinion. I hear it a bit more clearly. Still waiting for center channel level adjustment.

    Anyone else noticing significant difference in Dolby atmos performance since the update 16.1/16.1.1? Before the updates I had amazing sound isolation and sound placement, now everything seems less located at a certain point. I watched gravity (Dolby) and im westen nichts neues on netflix. Before I was so satisfied with the sound but now I can’t follow the objects and sounds moving around me… so disappointing. Also did the Dolby demos on my Xbox. Before I could clearly hear the ball moving behind my head, now not anymore. I didn’t change the location of my speakers. Did true play again but doesn’t change. Before I used to switch off true play and even than it was just amazing. Sonos engineers really give me a headache. I’m really regretting not going for the Samsung soundbar ughhhhhhh

    I can't differentiate the height channels as well. I could hear the sounds over my head before. Maybe not super well since my ceiling is quite high but still

    @@Ventus7777 try repairing them. The height channels were switched off with mine. Happened before and I found out because of the Dolby atmos test video (natures fury). Repairing always solved this issue for me.

    May 7th update will be a customisable homescreen and new features as Sonos readies the software to also control its headphones coming out in the summer. So much for a new arc 🙄😏

    After the update, my Arc is dropping sound randomly for about 1-5 seconds. Never had this happen before since I bought it a few years ago.

    Unplug the Arc, wait for like a minute and plug back in again. That seemed to fix my dropout issue.

    And, when I tried to run trueplay, I'm now getting the dreaded lost speaker error. When I play music, all speakers are working fine (Arc, sub, 2 surrounds). LOL

    I had this happen on my beam 2 and sub mini combo as well. Never had an issue with it cutting out before. I unplugged/replugged and it fixed it yesterday but today it cut out again. No clue what’s going on but I’m fairly certain it’s tied to the update

    Updated without much issue beyond some devices taking longer than the timeout. Finally decided to turn off my automatic updates recently. Probably should’ve after the big sub and trueplay debacle a while back. Certainly interested in an Arc 2: I can offload both of my unused Sonos One SL rears and current Arc on another family member who is interested in upgrading their home theater setup.

    i am really curious why people like spending money on a handicapped sound system like Sonos. Up to this day i find it amazing that people actually pay to get a sound system that they can't 100% control with every way they would like to.... having said that my interest around Sonos remains. This is the only channel that i have found that actually puts an effort into actually testing these speakers with measurements and facts. Peter knows what he is talking about. well done

    Another update, and once again a disaster. After about five attempts and fails, the update finishes, but then my Move cant be found. After repeatedly trying to have the app find it, the app has me restart my router. After the reboot, it finds my Move but can no linger find my Arc, Era 300s, and sub combo. Many attempts to get those back and about an hour later i have everything seen by the app. The app says im on 16.1, but repeatedly tells me now that i have an update. Tell it to update, says it is successful, tells me i have another update, and this cycle goes on like four more times. This time whe. It finally tells me i am up to date, it canr find the sub...reboot the router twice, get everything online and no claims of new updates. All is working now, but holy hell....i miss the days of Sonos updates just working.
