    Nice runs there Big B 👌 I reckon without the extra weight of an additional pack that may well have got you a new PB. Although I reckon you hit that peak speed in the air! 😂 Love the battery/GPS set up, that's really neat 👍 And the Doc's boats are simply awesome pieces if engineering and art wrapped into one. Amazing!

    Ahhhh... My old Campbell 1:12 scale Classic Hydro. Originally built to run LSH (Limited Spec Hydro), it was fitted with 12 NiMh round cells and a Speed 700 brushed motor. The rules changed the following season to allow the SV-27 motor/ESC and 4S LiPo (its current configuration). I may revive it from under the two inches of dust that cover it and get it running again.

    Beautiful boats doc. I bet she screams on 4s. What I like about her is the blueprint job. Wish I could get mine to come out that perfect I've tried trust me. I know how much work is involved lots of time & patience.

  • @Dr_Jet

    @Dr_Jet

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@IRONCLADRC That blueprint job took months. It started as a "shoebox" style vacuum-formed plastic hull with laser-cut internal plywood formers. I added a carbon fiber floor, Internally reinforced the seams, filled it with expanding and rigid foam and removed the shoebox overhang. It's stiff as a board now. It would run in the low 40s on 4S with the SV-27 motor/ESC turning a de-tongued X-642. I thought about a more modern motor/ESC in it since the15-year old SV-27 system is kinda lame now, but roundnoses pack a lot of air under them and 60mph might be "flighty". There are a lot more prop choices now, so I could play with that and see if I can do high 40s.

    5-7 min depending on how you drive. Smaller prop and trim up the boat so it's not running so wet (get the boat up out the water. 6000 -8000 mah battery will give you more run time

    Check the thruhull in the back of the boat where the cooling lines go through the boat to the inside. Alot of times the hole is drilled to tight for the silicone tube. Drill the hole out to the correct size that should open the water flow up a little and cool the Temps down.

    If you run in parallel, the voltage is the same but the amperage and mah is double, you continue running at 6S 22.2v but with more weight and more running time. 👍👍👍👍

  • @Dr_Jet

    @Dr_Jet

    Internal resistance of a battery pack (independent of mah) is one of many factors in determining the maximum available Wattage (Volts x Amps) of that pack. If you double the batteries in parallel, you effectively cut the internal resistance in half, meaning you can get more Watts out (less "sag"). Not a WHOLE lot more, but more nonetheless. Does the extra Wattage out counteract and exceed the disadvantage of the added weight? That's the "Test" part of "Tinker Tune, and Test"......

    I ran the single 6s 5450 this evening couldn't get over 61mph several attempts With both packsran separately, same tune & re-tuned for the single packs The extra capacity does help for high speed it also helps with blow overs. I don't care what nobody says, higher mah will produce more speed NOT JUST RUN TIME. I bought those battery's because of there compact size so I can run both battery's as a light 10900mah setup. I highy Doubt 6000mah 100c 6s or 2 3000 100c 6s packs with stock electronics will ever break 65mph.
