This is THE BEST SONIC GAME.

While not the most perfect Sonic game (with a few glitches here and there), there is ONE thing I have to say about this game that made it stood out. It redefined SCALE in a Sonic game. The scale of Story, Graphics, Gameplay Variety, Voice Performance, Soundtrack, and Ambition. While the story is as easy as it gets, the writer in this game understands Sonic's character, and the balance of him being upbeat and excited, while having him really focus on the world around him (personally and generally), and not having some cheesy writers portray him as someone who just makes the lamest of humor that only 5-year olds would laugh at. I really want this style of Sonic (while I missed Grifth's performance, it's unlikely he'll ever come back) to be brought back to his character in 2017.

What gamers do not understand about this game, is that there are these things that Sonic does to try to make himself different while standing up to the games that we enjoy today. The classic games are always great to many gamers out there. But what they fail to understand is that in this game, Sonic Team, even with the Werehog addition, has not harmed Sonic's character as a whole. People can have Nostalgia, but having too much Nostalgia (cases for Sonic 4, Generations, and personally even Mania) blocks Sonic from trying to appear new while retaining the things he was always known for. The Internet has always been a dark place. I understand the hate for '06 and Boom because they made him kind of a bit too different, but this is not the case for this game. People can already see the familiar play styles this game has so why the hate on it? Plus if people have known games like GoW, then they know Werehog isn't half-bad. People need to acknowledge old and new if they're good in their own.

Wow, thanks for the comment and I have to say I agree with what you've said. The old games are great but like you've said this game hasn't harmed Sonic which is great. As much as I enjoy Generations and Sonic 4 eps 2 I see where you are coming from. Yeah this game isn't like boom or Sonic 06 (thankfully). People know how to play it and sure if they've played GoW or any sort of beat 'em up you'd think they'd have some fun with the Werehog stages, but I think it's just because it's not what Sonic is. I did like the Werehog stages as a change of pace, even if they were long and at times annoying, but a good challenge.

Still can’t get over how beautiful the game looks. Great soundtrack, great story, great gameplay, phenomenal graphics, great DLC. Took a fuckload of time to 100% but it was all worth it. I got the game incredibly late (2015) but still have some great memories with it

Sonic Frontiers feels more like the actual sequel to Sonic Unleashed and Sonic and the Black Knight than anything from the Meta Era

Something that makes me sad is that we will never get a game like unleashed ever again

i was 5 when this gem came out. 15 now and im tempted to pull up my old ps3 and relive my childhood memories through this game. i used to have all the time in the world but it keeps getting shorter and limited by year. i miss it... and im very grateful that this game trailer still captures all the joy and excitement i felt playing this game with my dad

You can feel the hearts and souls the team gave in this game. That's why I really love it no matter what flaws it had.

This game was my childhood. I still remember when I was 5 and my parents and aunt got me a wii with sonic colors and sonic unleashed and holy moly it is the greatest memories I ever had. Looking at this in 2021 after playing sonic forces makes me sad at how sonic forces didn’t look as cool ;(

bruh imagine being sonic team after 06 and completely rethinking how sonic's archaic formula as a 3d platformer won't work anymore, creating a unique gameplay style that completely embodies and complements sonic's whole character and try to water it down with experimental gameplay then pouring all of your fucking heart and soul out on the details, soundtrack, graphics, story etc. making this game as ambitious as it gets for a sonic game and make sure your previous titles were never mentioned again, only to get pounded with 3/10 reviews bc uh oh stinky werehog haha werehog that's funny haha

@@yeahitsscott man the werehog is so fun when you master the combos and moves and tricks. just people are dumbasses and don't wanna take the time to understand it. i was like them myself. I adore the werehog, I find some werehog levels to even be better than daytime levels, some of my favorites is jungle joyride night and freaking eggmanland, shamar. even though eggmanland is hard, it's so clever for a final level, amazing design. werehog is just a cool concept and it makes sense and works.

I always comeback. Miss this time in my life.

I remember playing this on PS3 apparently It was too complicated cause I was young but still enjoyed this opening encourages me a lot especially with all the busy cut scenes with the song means a lot including the feeling of freedom, happy 2021

For a long time I thought this in game trailer was in 60FPS, but then I played the game on Xbox Series X and realized it runs at 30. The game conditioned my eyes to exepct such low frame rates on the original version for Xbox 360, that the trailer seemed way smoother than it actually was lol

Idk if it's worth mentioning now in 2020, but i just wanted to let anyone still watching this video this.. I have only played the 2d sonics games and never actually played any of this 3d games, either way i grew up like many of u playing many classics on the ps2 all the way to the ps4, here's the important part worth mentioning. I'm watching this now because rn i have a little brother of age 4 and ever since he manage to play with my ps4 i decided to make/let him play many of the classics and childhood games i played when i was young or never got to played but knew he they were worth a try, one of them been sonic unleashed. the only one he has played was on my ps4(sonic mania). I didn't felt like getting ps now because it wasn't worth it, so i got my ps3 running and bought sonic unleashed. when we were watching the intro he was freaking amaze and so he started playing it not too long(3 days ago) well a day after he started playing it, we were amaze by this cutscene. Which he now plays every time he can LIKE EVERYTIME BECAUSE HE JUST LOVES THE HYPE NOTE : i wanted to point this out because i been trying to keep him away from many games such as fortnite which im not hating it but i would rather him play some classics. Im actually trying to see if i can get MW2 when he becomes 7 or 8 or even sooner since i heard the campaign was totally Worth it ;)
