You know, maybe Dr. Robotnik should try this more often. Instead of all the mechs for himself, build giant robot enemies who can thrive in a particular environment, where Sonic might not have such an easy time.
There’s things I like how some badniks perfectly translate to boss battles which surprise me they haven’t done in games like the crab or chameleon But this can work the opposite like the fish or snail which literally have the most predictable and unimaginative boss battles and patterns which made me think it would have been better to just replace them with original designs,mechs or other characters The drowning theme while decent can’t compare to the tension and terror the original makes And Metal sonic is a mix bag I love how he has multiple battles with sonic and how he even acts has a mini Eggman with he’s own vehicles showing why he’s Eggman right hand, with that said I think the fire metal sonic is way too repetitive and I would’ve liked a proper rematch with the robot like we have with Eggman which for some reason has 2 boss battles at the end of the game And Eggman is between good move set yet bad designs (or just reusing the egg mobile) or the oppposite with the submarine Eggman or both of bad with the fire Eggman I think some bosses would have benefited from getting a second phase with at least one or two attacks more or just giving them those attacks straight up I see potential especially in the constant yet not overstaying boss fights of metal sonic I hope if the game gets a sequel the creator progresses upon the critics

DANG THE SONIC 1 VERSION OF METAL SONIC BOSS IN SONIC 4 IS FIRE
I forgot I played this hack when it came out years ago so watching this felt like a long deja vu trip, it was a really good hack though and I might replay it
The boss at 16:33 is the boss of Labyrinth zone in the 8bit version (I think)
