Believe it or not, Tyson Hesse actually teased Tails' backpack when he posted the tweet for the illustration he did at the time of the first trailer. Just thought of sharing this fact.

The second movie looks like there will be more action and more focus on Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, rather than the humans and I'm down for it! So excited! The artwork poster looks beautiful as well.

Well takal said that chaos only used the negative power of the chaos emeralds, don't see why Robotnik can't, about time he finally become a final boss

Remember SA2 knuckles can shrink the master emerald. That’s probably why it’s smaller when sonic grabs it

I kinda dig that Robotnik can use the power of the Emerald. Humans in the series have only used it as a source of power, and future retcons by Izuka state that only male hedgehogs can use Chaos Control or go super which is pretty limiting in scope. Here, we see him even using it to build the Death Egg Robot, so if they can do more crazy stuff like this to give us his best mechs I’m all for it!

Robotnik harnessed the power of the Chaos Emeralds in some media, mainly in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, and the british comic, "Sonic the Comic".

I like the human characters. I hope they show Sonic's life at home with Donut Lord and Pretzel Lady.

Well they're away in Hawaii to see the wedding and left Sonic home alone. Tails might join the family at the end too which will be a great ending.

I’m not gonna hold you, what you said at the ending about how you get all excited about sonic stuff and how it’s just a series that means so much to you, I genuinely relate to that, it’s basically my thoughts on the series in general let alone the movie. Admittedly, I’ve been really pessimistic about Frontiers, and I completely forgot Origins and Prime existed, I just want nothing but the best for the series, honestly going to the Sonic Movie day 1 was one of the best days I’ve had in recent memory, while I understand the movie has its flaws, it means so much to me that I can’t help but adore it for what it is. Though this movie might just be better in every aspect. But only time will tell, I’m extremely hyped to see what this sequel has in store 🔵

I agree with you about Sonic & Tails having more interactions, especially since the '2' in the title is stylized after Tails himself.

I’m sure we’ll get plenty of that in this movie the sonic vs knuckles is just the stuff that’s going to draw the most hype factor.

The scene of Robotnik absorbing the power of the Master Emerald I think is a reference to a scene seen only in the comic Sonic the Comic, in which Robotnik absorbs the power of the seven Emeralds, only that in the film they have made their own interpretation, at least I think that they were inspired by this, otherwise they wanted to do something different

God Robotnik was legit the 2nd most terrifying thing in the fleetway comics, an evil genius that can essentially do anything he wants with his only "limitation" being his own twisted imagination... :0

This trailer is amazing. Ir show that the first movie is going to be very short and this one is going to surpass the first one in everything, I already want to see it. :)

Since I doubt they'll include a master emerald shard hunt, I think when Robotnik uses the emerald, it begins to shrink, fitting in sonic's hands. When the power is used more (hopefully with Super Sonic) that's what causes the emerald to shatter into the 7 chaos emeralds. Btw, I think the metal Sonic uses to snowboard was from a drone.

This is actually a cool way to introduce both kinds of emeralds and I'd be okay with them doing this. The only problem is that it eliminates Knuckle's role as the Emerald Guardian...Unless they change it so that he's responsible for guarding the Chaos emeralds instead of the Master Emerald...which would force him to be involved if Shadow shows up or Robotnik wants one of them to make Metal Sonic...Actually, this would be a perfect adaptation idea.

Some details I enjoyed: When knuckles steps out of the portal and we see the close up of his eyes, notice the color of the electricity is pink. Could be a little reference to super knuckles, although remember sonic’s eyes flash blue. So it could just be a coincidence. The snowboard sonic uses is a part of a destroyed badnik. If you go slowly you can see sonic grab it out of midair before he uses it. I love how the snowboarding calls back to sonic 3k and adventure, but the way sonic gets his “board” is very similar to SA2. Robotnik seems to be harnessing the power of the master emerald for two things (besides powering the death egg robot). He can use telekinesis and teleport. Obviously introducing telekinesis is a great way to tease silver’s abilities. But the big one for me is the teleportation. Robotnik is using chaos control. And he’s doing it with (presumably) the master emerald. It makes sense, because I don’t think he would be able to use that power with just a chaos emerald, as the hedgehogs do. Lots of great stuff in here. I’m so very excited to see this!

I'M DEFINITELY GONNA HAVE A BLAST WATCHING THIS MOVIE!!!

Here’s my rule-of-thumb for Trailers. If a movie’s 1st Trailer entices you already to see the film, then you shouldn’t watch anymore of the trailers. You’re already convinced of watching it. If it doesn’t, then you can keep watching more to see if it eventually interests you. This Trailer is a last-ditch effort to get as many people to see the movie (especially those who aren’t interested yet). That’s usually what the ‘Final Trailer’ is. It’s job isn’t specifically to spoil, but to entice.

Wonder if the emerald size difference is a reference to the Master Emerald's inconsistent size in SA2 cutscenes... (probably not)

@Cliven Soewarna yes i think that it's too big to be a chaos emerald It's definitelly the master emerald Also in the last trailer there is a shot of a tired sonic picking it up and getting saved last minute by tom This confirms that sonic will probably lose the encounter This might lead into the search for the chaos emeralds so that robotnik could be beaten But then again fitting that into 110 minutes (multiple sources claim that this is the runtime including the wikipedia page) might me hard. Well it's just 2 weeks before release. We will see.

That's just the master emerald. The reason for why it's smaller is A because they forgot Sonic is smaller or B they couldn't find a way for this scene to work if Sonic couldn't pick up the emerald in easy way.

Technically the master emerald can change sizes, so it being smaller than sonic at that moment would be within its capabilities.

About "Speed Life" (the song that samples Somebody's watching me), the artist behind it confirmed it will be exclusive to the french version of the film. Which means we didnt hear the actual song for the film yet that would be for all versions.

"I do hope that we get more Sonic music in the Movie itself." We hardly do unfortunately.☹️

Robotnik probably builds the death egg robot with his powers The floating debris is probably forming it 16:20 It looks like (possibly) Wade tied down Stone to interrogate him and Robotnik uses Chaos Control to pop in?

I really loved the scenarios presented in the trailer. But seriously, Tom could've easily thrown that ring to anywhere, why would he throw it at the altar? Does he really hate her wife's sister? And the relationship between Agent Stone and Knuckles will be and interesting one. That part of the trailer in which Robotnik grabs all the metal stuff around him kinda reminds me of Sonic Heroes final story, where Metal Sonic uses the debris from the Egg Fleet to combine and transform into its Metal Madness form. By the way, with the upcoming IDW comic tie-in on March 23rd, which will present some stories before this movie, would you look at that and make a sort of review to the connections between the comic and the movie?

THANK YOU for doing 2 different review videos. One for people who don't want to be spoiled and one for people who want to know what they have to look forward to (like me).

I just thought of something. What if Sonic is connected to the Emeralds and that's why Longclaw was protecting him

In Sonic X, it's shown to be canon that if you bring two or more Chaos Emeralds together too quickly and without carefully acclimating them to each other, a powerful reaction occurs which includes things like shooting a beam of light into the sky and a giant electromagnetic pulse happening. So I wonder if that blue beam and explosion could be another sign that there will be emerald collection going on? It's also canon that the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald can interact with each other as a check on each other, and the Master Emerald can outright temporarily shut down the Chaos Emeralds immediately on a dime. So what if Dr Eggman got his hands on a Chaos Emerald and the Master Emerald is needed to shut it down? Another possibility running through my mind is that there could be a good old race to collect the emeralds, like a traditional Sonic X arc. Will the Death Egg be built to be able to accept Chaos Emeralds as they're collected? Will the Master Emerald be needed to interrupt the Chaos Emeralds within the Death Egg so that it can be infiltrated? Will the X-Tornado be able to accept Chaos Emeralds? So many questions!!! Oh, and I hope Eggman gets more moments where he sounds like Chikao Otsuka. In the first movie, whenever he said 'Oh, NOW you've done it!', that sounded like Japanese Eggman 100% and I absolutely loved it.

sonic is using a piece of the robot he spin ball destroyed to snowboard it looks like, probably not going to get a sa2 reference for that in the scene, and tails must of got hit while flying cos, you can see his spinning tails when he is behind sonic, when sonic spin balls into the robot.

The hype for sonic 2 just constantly grows and I can’t get enough this

Even if it’s not the most popular tracks, if they use actual Sonic music for scenes and not just as references it would go nuts. I saw there was an avalanche in the snowboarding scene. Imagine if the snowboarding starts and a few seconds in, the robots come swarming out after him and you just start hearing the theme of the snowboarding section from Sonic Adventure. I guarantee the audience would go nuts in theaters. lol I use that example cuz that scene is a perfect opportunity to cover a video game track and fit in with the movie.

I'm pretty certain Sonic is grabbing the Master Emerald. The Master Emerald has the ability to change size, which is demonstrated in Sonic Adventure 2.

Seeing this movie day one hopefully, my body is READY!!!

I think after the scene where sonic and knuckles are fighting in the temple, knuckles gets the emerald but eggman steals it. So then everybody goes to the death egg robot.

I think Tails has been lowkey in these trailers since he'll be the exposition character. Not really something that plays well i n action-packed trailers.

15:20 this is a really good point you made, wouldn’t have caught that myself lol. This could be a really clever way to disguise all 7 emeralds being in the move by showing only the one the same color as the master emerald. At first I thought they wouldn’t do 7 because it could be much but if they do (and it’s looking like a possibility) i’m not opposed to it at all.

The film was incredible I'm sure you're gonna love it, it was a Sonic fan's dream come true ^__^

I think Tails' backpack is just for storing gadgets. I expect that they won't introduce the chaos emeralds until the 3rd movie, if at all, l think it makes sense to just focus on the master emerald for now

@@DeltaBlazin if they were only going to intro one emerald, why would they make it the same color as the master emerald? That's just confusing. I think it's more than likely it's just a size inconsistency and they're both the master emerald. Again, they probably won't introduce the chaos emeralds until later. General audiences unfamiliar with the franchise would likely see them as rip-off Infinity stones, and although l'm sure most of the audience for these films is sonic fans, they still need to keep those who aren't in mind, hence Sonic's constant pop culture references. They also probably don't have time to introduce Tails, Knuckles, the master emerald, G.U.N, and 7 chaos emeralds all in one movie

I think Eggman harnessing the chaos emeralds is more or less a reference to the uk sonic comics where both him and Sonic were tampering with chaos energy with Sonic having his signature blue speedy look while Eggman tapped into the negative effects of the chaos energy, red eyes and a big jolly belly.

Briliant, fantastic and amazing. Oh wait. Sonic and Robotnik both have green eyes, that's kinda significant if you see Robotnik has powers now
