honestly rail canyon shouldve been the level you play right before egg fleet along with a time limit. it really sets the tone. egg fleet shouldve been at sunset too to emphasize how little time was left

@@TotallyToonsTV there is a game called spark the electric jester 3 (one of my favorite games of all time) and it has a level very similar to rail canyon, but with much smoother gameplay and functional rail switching and AAAA ITS SO GOOD I LOVE IT here is a gameplay video of it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zpd7pLGBlLu6f7w.html this game is super underrated and it deserves so much more attention! its everything that i love about the sonic games, but without all of the jank of sonic games :3

i get that plenty of people have trouble with stages like these. however, when you get the hang of it, this stage can actually be incredibly fun and satisfying to play through. definitely one of my favorite sonic stages of all time!

that opening cutscene makes you feel like you actually dont have time and the music also really adds to it

Y’know fun fact for team sonic and team rose. During the opening cutscene of rail canyon. If you can use tails and fly up when jumping off a rail at the tippy top. You can actually and fully experience the other side of rail canyon where team dark and chaotix starts at so you can actually have fun grinding there how ever you want…..buuuuuuut try not to die though or else you start where you were again.

Compared to all of the other levels. The music in this one was stuck in my head the longest. Against my childbrain will that is.

God, this level was pure hell but man, this level’s BGM was a banger 😤

This game had the best rail balancing mechanics, before that idea got taken out entirely from future games

Just got hit with the wave of nostalgia

I miss thie game played it on ps2 as a kid and i remember this level the most it was so cool.

I had a GameCube as a kid that I just never remembered to buy a memory card for so I would basically always have to finish games in one sitting. I was able to get to Rail Canyon with every team but would die because of how hard switching rails could be sometimes and only cleared the stage with Team Rose

Reminds me I never finished the game. There was some dark rail stage near the finale where they shoot lasers along the rails. Using Tail to over and wait it out is nice, but the camra angle prevented me from landing on the rails most of the time.

That's full hype and all...but you all seem to forget how frustrating and sloppy it was to swap between rails, as each manoever was so scary to do you'd have to swap to Tails to do so. At least they improved it in the next games.
