This was exactly what we needed. A trailer jam-packed with visual eye candy, new worlds, music, story, cutscenes… all while still maintaining enough mystery to make me want to discover more. I’m so happy to see Sega finally taking this franchise more seriously, and that’s reflected in the content and the $60 price tag. Could this truly be the game that finally turns Sonic around for the better? The movie franchise has done it… maybe this one will too 👀

That’s because we haven’t seen CGI cutscenes in a while. He literally had expression in every CGI animation even for Forces, Lost World, Generations, Colors and Unleashed. But then you realize you rarely saw CGI cutscenes after Unleashed, and most of them were in trailers.

What makes me glad from the looks of the trailer its refreshing to see that Eggman is not like the main villain for this And They GAVE SONIC FACIAL EXPRESSIONS what makes me most happy about too They had to take some inspirations from the Sonic Movies Like Sonic is a very expressive character if you dont have that it just makes him look robotic

I haven’t seen him do any expressions he hadn’t don’t before. The past games you’re thinking of with a lack of expression are usually games entirely or mostly made up of in-game cutscenes. But this trailer is mostly showing CGI animation, which never had that problem.

Sonic finally acting like a serious shonen esque character again? Hell yeah. I’m digging all of what I’m seeing from this. And that little snippet of Roger Craig Smith’s performance is really good; he’s proven that he’s a great voice for Sonic in the Boom series, he just needs a good script. And visually this game looks insane. Finally, something will dethrone Unleashed lol.

This trailer really was what pushed me to the edge from I'm hype but cautious, to, I'm just hype as hell 💙

This is the best trailer we have had yet. Also yeah this game is looking super cool, can’t wait for it to come out. Hopefully this will be as good as it looks.

I was watching this with my friend and while my friend wasn’t impressed because he’s not a sonic fan, I was just hype it looks so much better than other things we’ve seen my excitement went away but now has come back baby!!!

One of the best trailers they've shown for the game, and can't wait for it to come out! I also really wonder how in depth the skill tree is gonna be and how the level design is gonna be for the cyber stages. But right now this looks pretty fun and we have 5 islands to go through. I'm happy more people is getting excited for this!

After seeing this trailer, now I feel excited for this game but I'm still going to be cautious

Just got out of school and saw it on KZread and I was trying so hard to keep the excitement inside before I left the building. I am LOVING THIS GAME SO FAR AND CANT WAIT TO PLAY IT WITH HOPEFULLY CG CUTSCENES! This definitely beats sonic forces and cant wait to play this game. Also, when they showed the different maps, they showed that "ultra boost" thing they mentioned in a leak so maybe later on, we get the sonic boost from leveling up

I haven't been this hyped for a new 3D Sonic game since Generations. You know how ago that was? Too long. I'm so excited! 😁👍💙

Each trailer, I get more and more excited. I was very meh at first but I almost screamed in my college class watching this one… insane.

I love sonics new facial expressions I've always wanted to see sonic show more emotion since riders. Overall I really enjoyed the trailer, I also wonder if they gave Roger new voice direction

Sage not moving her mouth while talking might be a typical trailer thing where they've edited in that voice line and it doesn't actually belong there (i.e she says a different line or nothing at all, in that specific moment at least)

Stretch of theory’s: Tails found the AI before eggman, and he was asorbed into the AI, so that’s why their voice would be similar (or it’s just wanted her to voice SAGE). There is the chance of Tails just being asorbed for his intellect, and SAGE is might have a second, more devious reason to stop and deture sonic. Amy is captured for some reason. Who knows. That just came to my mind.

I’ve been thinking very similarly

Just came back from school and saw this on twitter and KZread! I’m excited for this game but still gonna wait patiently.

The fact that this game was getting lot of hate at the beginning and then now it’s getting a lot of hype and praise is amazing and I can’t wait for frontiers to come out

I feel like the effect on Sonic’s hand is a corruption similar to the Metal Virus infection he had in the IDW comics. It’s just a theory of mine and it makes me happy to think of it that way as I absolutely loved that arc, and hope for something similar in epic scale with this game.

So excited for the game! Also that was an awesome stream 😀

Great trailer this was so much filled in it just like in the sonic movie 2 trailer from the end of last year! Really looking forward to playing this when it comes out in about 2 in a half months.

Well, since the voices are in the CGI, it's definitely CGI cutscenes in the game. All of the other CGI for the trailers for previous games had no voices.

I am cautious about Frontiers, on one hand this game looks really impressive and the length of 20 HOURS is very exciting but the down side is that the world seems a little barren to me for example at 1:14. Maybe it’s because it’s only a portion of the island that they showed but nonetheless I really have to see reviews before buying this game as I don’t want to make the same mistake with Forces and buy it instantly. Here is hoping that this game is a success!

Im under the impression that sonic is fast enough for that free soace to not really be noticably at all. If u were playing as anyone else such as link who dosent move as fast it qould be very noticable

Think of it like Mario Odyssey. Each world is a large platform level with different things to do. In the case of Sonic since he can traverse through the world quickly, they have to be massive with space for him to run around. It’s a step in the right direction imo

I didn’t even know that was Colleen nice catch! Also yeah Rodger sounds so different for a second I thought it was a new VA but I’ll wait to see how I like him. I was never a huge fan of him but maybe that was because of the bad script he was given if the writing is better in this one it will be a real test to see if I actually like him as Sonic. I kind of hope Sage is not related to Infinite as I want Frontiers to be kind of a soft-reboot for the series and take it away from the 2010’s era (not that I hated the 2010’s.) and in a new direction as I feel it needs a breath of fresh air. I’ve been very cautiously optimistic about the game but I do have a small hope that this one could be actually pretty good judging from what we’ve been hearing from people who have actually got their hands on the game. And as it will be on the showroom floor for all of Gamescom with 0 NDA’s we will be hearing a lot of peoples honest opinions about the game and I’m really hoping it proves itself!

The cyberspace levels are clearly like the shrines in breath of the wild basically which I don’t have a problem with especially cuz they aren’t the main focus of the game. I still wish they didn’t reuse locations

God I am so so excited for this game now. The fact we might be getting CG story cutscenes alone has me excited, but the GAME ITSELF LOOKS SO FUN!!! I’m so happy dude.

I don’t mind reusing levels, I just wish they used different ones. Like instead of using Sky Sanctuary they could use Marble Garden or something.

I can't wait for this game!

It would be really cool if some of Sonic’s attacks used the biome he’s in like on the desert island, for example, using the sand to blind his enemies like he did in the sonic movie.

Can't remember what my graphics card is on my pc, but it's definitely not 1050. So glad I'm getting it on my Switch instead. I'm recording it the first chance I get when it comes out! Also like to point out that when Sam was reading the info on the steam page, he somehow made a hype game sound even more hype than before.

I like how there's a part where Sonic slid on the sand for a second before sprinting again. Kinda reminds me of the 2020 movie.

This is something that I am legitimately excited for a Sonic game for a long time. In the past I was always feeling low expectations or just seeing a little disappointment at times but now, Sonic Frontiers maybe a great Sonic title we're seeing in a long time. I'm hoping that when it got release in November, it'll be such a big bangers, endless gameplay and also, a lots of replayability at the end.

-18:48 - 18:31 that scene of Sonic vs Sage is similar to Sonic vs Infinite in stage 9 of Forces,and Sage has an edgy voice like Infinite too. I think it was said somewhere that Sonic's friends are captured and Sonic has to save them.

The fighting strategically part kinda sounds like the werehog from unleashed, except in normal sonic mode. This game is gonna be good

One thing that i'm seeing not a lot of people talking about when it comes to this trailer is that Amy is confirmed to play a major role in the story. THAT is something that I will be looking forward too with Sonic Frontiers. For the longest time Amy has only been sonic's biggest lovestruck fangirl, now you're telling me that she's involved with some ancient race of digital/mechanical conquerors from outer space? Hell yeah, i'm there! I mean that's QUITE the jump for Amy in terms of story in any sonic game, but it's honestly the jump that she desperately needed.

This is a theory that may have been thrown around a lot but i do believe the reason not much is being shown of cyberspace or the story is because Frontiers is set to reboot the Sonic series. The cyberspace aren’t being shown as much not because they’re “bad” but because the purpose of them is to not restore Sonic memories but to reboot them. The game’s ending could possibly see Sonic defeating Sage and resetting the timeline.

There’s no scene where Sage is talking and her mouth isn’t moving. If you hear her voice and you don’t see her mouth move, it’s probably a voice over from a different scene or moment. SonicTubers everywhere seemed to have this weird confusion with the Sonic 2 trailer as well. Idk why it’s such a common thing for people to overlook but…. there ya go. :)

while am still MIXED on frontiers ive gotta say the GCI LOOKS GREAT! is it better then unleashed NAH but this is the best we have ever seen i will also admit that SAGE is looking to be one of the more serious better villains of the franchise so far overall crappy gameplay but everything else 👍edit: one last gripe is that the cyberspace stages look like gens stages and forces stages mixed lol

Even though it supposedly requires a GTX 1060, I'm pretty sure my 1050-Ti could probably run it in 720p 30fps, since it can run Cyberpunk 2077 (barely)
