Shadow is easy to play, but REALLY difficult to master, because if you’ve mastered Shadow, you’re a really valuable member of the team, not hiding in the corner.

@@tuqked Well, SOME Shadow mains don't see it that way, some of the unique Shadow mains I've seen actually go on the middle of the map or sometimes follows the team or someone who's being chased, even that one Shadow who only use Dash or block when they tryna revive someone and who use fall-back-dash, after falling, they dash on other high place, whiteout the exe even noticing, even that Shadow mains who abuse ring boost or just risk even the hp is low.

@@linaplayz9558 I am the most aggressive Shadow main you will ever see, I can juke almost anyone for ages, and am stupidly good with block, hell, I will literally use dash to go TOWARDS the EXE just to block for a teammate on full health, when I've already been downed. And yes I usually do get away with it.

As of 1.16: 8th - Shadow (Very Easy) Original placing: 7th Shadow is built to be a 'solo-survivalist' of sorts. His two tools (dash and tackle) are both mobility actions that push Shadow in the direction he's facing. Shadow's gameplan revolves around using these tools to be evasive and spend most of the game away from the group and sneak his way to the exit. Shadow CAN be played in a distract or front line playstyle to save his team, but Shadow mains will usually spend most of the game on the other half of the map and escape on their own. If he gets chased he has the tools to easily escape and bring the attention to someone else. I'd only pick him if I was the only survivor in the game. 7th - Eggman (Easy) Original placing: 8th Eggman is very similar to Shadow, however has to rely on his team more. I would argue that he is the absolute best character in the game. Shock is in my opinion the best ability in the entire game (yes, even better than heal), because it has a huge range, stuns with an area of effect, and only has 28 seconds of cooldown, which is the same as Shadow's dash. Eggman has the ability to run in and hit this stun, which is more reliable than Knuckles or Amy, and then get out of there with his second ability, jetpack boost. Jetpack boost is basically dash, but it's a little slower and also goes up. You can use it as basically a 'double jump' for general positioning. Eggman is a great choice in any position, from surviving it alone to being a huge team player. 6th - Amy (Medium-Easy) Original placing: 2nd Amy used to be one of the hardest characters in the game, because of how difficult it is to learn how to use hammer throw. But now that ability is gone, and hammer bounce makes Amy much easier to use. Hammer attack is similar to Knuckles' punch, but has a much larger range, so it's easier to land and the only drawback is an extra 2 seconds of cooldown. Hammer bounce is a glorified high jump that you can use to get out of pits or get away from Sonic for awhile. Amy is mainly played in conjunction with Knuckles to protect the front line of the team. 5th - Rouge (Medium) Original placing: 1st The absolute worst character in the game is between Tails and Rouge, and while I argue Tails is worse, I can definitely see the case for Rouge. Rouge has two main playstyles. The first playstyle is very similar to Shadow's, where she can hide out in the corner of the map and sneak to the exit, which is the easier way to use her. However the main way of playing Rouge is providing trackers for the team and giving the team a constant alert. This playstyle will usually get you killed more often, however if you can learn how to use evasion smartly and incorporate slide into your juking, Rouge isn't as helpless up close as you may expect. Rouge would be my pick if my team had a hard time being alert and needed to know where Sonic was. 4th - Cream (Medium) Original placing: 6th Cream can be one of the easiest or hardest characters depending on how you use her. Cream is the core member of your team, along with Sally, because she can provide heals to the team. She needs to rely on her teammates to give her enough time with stuns to get heals off. Cream can be a character of conflicting priorities to make sure your entire team survives. Cream can also be played in the same selfish playstyle as Shadow and sometimes Rouge, because speed boost lets her run at quadruple speed with invincibility for 10 seconds (yes I checked the hurt boxes, Cream is invincible during the first half of speed boost). Cream is an essential member of your team, and I suggest that someone picks her for every game. 3rd - Sally (Medium-Hard) Original placing: 4th Sally is the other core member of your team, who provides shields to let you take another hit. Sally is much more easy to use conceptually because you don't need any strategy when it comes to who to help (just give the shield to whoever is being chased), however after enough shields Sonic will usually go for you after some point, so you may not have a shield for yourself and have to juke, which is difficult for Sally because all she gets is a roll. Sally needs some setup, but if she can manage to get it, there's some big payoff. She can protect the team and come in clutch a lot of the time. 2nd - Knuckles (Hard) Original placing: 3rd Knuckles is my main, and he's also very difficult to use. A lot of new players will pick him or Tails believing that he's easy because he's one of the first people on the character select, and oh boy they would be wrong. Knuckles requires you to be constantly alert of to where Sonic is and be the front line of defense, constantly protecting your team when they need it and making sure everyone gets out alive. Knuckles will sometimes be paired with Amy or Shadow to do this, but it's usually this one character saving the rest of the team. Knuckles requires perfect positioning and juking to know exactly when and where to punch and nail the timing on his blocks. Knuckles may be a rough character, but if you can master him he can do plenty of good. 1st - Tails (Very Hard) Original placing: 5th Tails is a zoner, who mostly stays behind most of the team to fire shots from a distance, so he seems pretty easy! And while he can be helpful if mastered, Tails is more a liability than anything to have on your team. I went through the months long struggle to actually land his shots consistently and even then he's just not very good. Arm cannon takes a while to start up before you can fire, essentially making it useless up close. Sniping from afar is it's main purpose, however a stun usually isn't enough to fully save a teammate. Tails also is usually the first person to be targeted because.. I actually don't know, but if you get targeted you're screwed because Tails is absolutely helpless up close. Arm cannon takes too long to start up and aiming is hell when Sonic is right there, and glide is only usable if you're at a cliff. Sonic can also just kind of.. jump and hit you anyway.. so there's that.

As a Cream main there are some difficulties pertaining to Cream. The scariest thing is multi-injured team, and choosing between who lives or possibly dies. Doesn't help if you are struggling to find your injured teamates. You also have to understand the range of the heal and get behind cover to avoid being spotted. If Sonic sees you standing still you WILL most likely get attacked or worse, grabbed. Map knowledge is important because she has no means to defend herself and relies on stunners, no stunners means no help and you'll have to rely on juking and springs. Getting to the next spring to loop is important to stall for time for your next speed boost. Your chance of getting tunneled is high, it doesn't matter if Sonic got stun-locked three times in a row, his sole mission is for Cream's demise, If you have a good team, map knowledge and a little bit of luck you might be ok. Rings + speed burst is a nice speed risk in the mad dash for the exit. Also expect to get grabbed a lot. Thanks for reading this passionate rant! Here is a cookie! (*＾∀ﾟ)ъ🍪

I agree since I am a Cream main. Whenever there is a bunch of teamates injured I heal the first one I see and try to go and heal everyone as quick as I can, going behind walls and healing so that .exe dosent get me, but when the .exe is chasing me I try to start off with just juking and then after a little use the speed boost and try to find my teamates. The worst parts is when its hardcore or everyone else died because all the .exes will be chasing you and all you have is the speed boost and juking to survive. Hardcore mode sucks because everyones health is 50 and you have to heal every chance you get which means you have to know all the maps and the range (like you said) to know when it is safe to heal so that you and your teamates dont die.

They changed Amy's Hammer Throw to a Hammer Bounce in v1.1. It basically jumps Amy back up depending on the height she is at, which can be a disadvantage when you need to get some EXEs off of ledges, as it is a maneuver ability.

I completely agree with this video. Unrelated note, but thanks to you I mastered every character in this game! I couldn't master Tails because everyone wanted to be him and even if I'm a veteran that plays before survivors had 2 abilities (everyone was like :O when Tails got the Arm Cannon in an update) I still had trouble with him. But now? I use a slow camera and CameraToggle. It's extremely comfortable to play like this for me and I learned this from your videos! Now I'm shooting Sonic.exe a lot since Tails's cooldowns are short. Today I shot Sonic.exe right after he was hit by Eggman to create the stun chain and Eggman told me: "Tails" "You monkey" "Aim your shots" (It was obviously a joke.)

as a tails main i totally agree. it took me months to always get the perfect shot

I think for Rouge if you play the game alot then you can play as her for example:When I first started playing the game I learned all the maps and stuff also the springs then played as her.She's easy to play as anyway if you're pro,well,yeah.You don't necessarily have to be pro to play as her but yes you do need patience and IQ to play as her.She's a stealth character anyway so she's most likely for people that hide.Like me for example.She also has evasion which is kinda broken but useful when exe is invisible.(The game tells you when exe is invisible) Also I only revive downed teammates if it's necessary and no one is helping them. (These are my opinions and tips for sm people that main Rouge like me!❤)

Alright, Rouge is SOO EASY to play in Hide and Seek Act 2. You have the slide, with you jumping on the hiding cassets thing, and that is OP. The map is not big, so sensors are useful there, as you can spot EXE and the others. EXEs tend to use the Invisibility there, and Rouge has the Evasion ability.

When update 1.1 hits, some of the surviors' mechanics will be changed. Do you plan on updating your tier list or guides for each character? Though most of them will remain the same minus a few costume changes and animations. Shadow, for example, will have offense instead of block, Amy will have hammer bounce instead of throw, and Rouge will have glide.

Unless I'm wrong Rouge isn't getting the glide anymore but instead getting a move called Evasion which will make it so you can't be detected by exe while they are invis(the undetected gimmick for sensors was going to be removed for said ability)

Every character is hard to play as if sonic.exe knows what the survivors are doing, I know from experience, both sides.

rouge is honestly easy to play if you know how to play her role plus rouge is the only character that doesn't need to be near the team but if you aren't good with your hiding and juking skill then i would say it is not a good character for you

I argue with the placement with Rouge… First of all, you just got to place sensors on like the openings to other parts of the map, but if you in hide and seek, it’s a bit harder there. And another reason is that the slide isn’t too hard to use. You can juke him by using it so that’s a plus.

There are also a lot more ladders for exe to use and slide is abit worse because of lunge ;-; , and she can also rely on maps ( like other characters) to be effective, like in hill compared to kind and fair

Recently got back into this game because of the release on ps4, wish they updated this game more tbh

Yeah I have no clue why. I main Knuckles and even when it is more practical to save myself because I am low and my team is better off, I still feel the impulse to help. I do not get this same impulse when I play other characters. I did however kind of learned to cut the habit because if I die then I will become an active danger to my team (What can I say being exe is fun) so I just decide to have a little more faith in them. If I am good on health then I'll put myself out there for the team though

Tails and rouge in sonic.exe the disaster is the best combo of they both are skilled

I honestly wish I played the game during the earlier versions. It looks so much fun with Amy’s hammer throw and the concept of having to grab the hammer again. I like a challenge so it would’ve definitely improved my gameplay but oh well.

I remember that in a game in an old update of Sonic TD it was rouge and a lot of people who loved the character killed themselves and went to Exe to kill me but I managed to escape, it was very intense and at that moment I took out the Pro mode

As a Rouge Main This is pretty accurate you do need to move a lot and know the whole map but once you get the head of it she is really easy if you’re good at juking if not then she might not be for you.

As a knuckles main and with the new update in the game. Knuckles is easy to pick up if you are a good stunner and you also want to protect your team. Even if you die

I think this gotta be updated by now, because Amy's Hammer throw has changed to Hammer bounce I don't know if theres more characters with their abilities changed but its gotta be updated the ranking by now.

I am a Rouge main and Ive never realized that she was this complicated to play but I can say that everything is 100% real.

I usually play different characters depending on the map. Usually I’ll play as Shadow, Sally, Amy, Rouge, and tails when I feel like it

My defense for Eggman is that he is the most sought after in most experiences I've played. People know he has a big hitbox wich is why they ignore everyone else and it's so annoying sometimes. Like the exit is out and EXE is fighting, and then he turns to ypu and only gets you. It's also the same where people on your team have good skills and have mastered their characters, because EXE goes after you and kill you first. Usually they throw the game to get egg. However the last one is with any, so perhaps put that on the side. My point is Egg may be the easiest to use, but not to 1v1 EXE in order to survive.

Egg man is the goat once you learn the shock waves fullest potential. It can save you in the worst situations. I one time won a full exe round. Me vs the entire exe team. And the exe team was actually a threat.

As a Amy main, I agree it's hard to land and attack and a throw attack, but I consider to start with Sally

i think amy is pretty easy if u have been in the game for a while you really have to make sure though you know where exe is rouge's sensors help with it, itll be easier for you to see where exe is with her sensors too with amy, overall, shes a great one to use for me, shes the 3 hardest you also have to ateast not have the worst fps or stuff on mobile, its a bit harder but i know someone on yt whos good at hammer throws with mobile i suggest using omputer or something not mobile hope this helps!

I got good at stunning sonic as amy specifically when they are just finished being stunned the exact moment sometimes doesn't work sometimes does its funny

Funny enough I was playing a game as rouge and for 80% of the game the exe was just chasing after me when everyone else like Sally Amy knuckles and I think shadow and cream were around trying to help me it was so stressful I was so happy when I ended up surviving I really did not expect to be chased for almost the entire game

Tbh they should give rouge a glide it be cool if it was like a built in one like every time u jump it does a glide which i think make her alot better at protecting herself and getting around

Nothing hurts more as a father knuckles main then dying to save a teamate and staying dead just for that teammate to later revive as an exe and kill somebody else making ur sacrifice in vain

for me rouge is kind of easy, it depends on how good the exe is, but you're right on the knowing all the maps it's tough knowing where all the springs are, blah blah blah. but rouge overall is prolly the one that can keep her teammates knowing where sonic is, and knowing if he's invisible. so it's kind of hard for rouge, takes a lot of skill in my opinion

Yep, and it’s kinda sad her slide cool-down got from 10 to 15 ;-;, but then again I really don’t think that made much of a change if I’m honest, making players rely on the map more which can make them more versitile on certain area on the maps

Well i was a Rouge main but i have one problem while i was her main I always or SOMETIMES get targeted especially when i start to put some indicators, the reason was the exe doesn’t want me to know where he is especially when he is invisible so im trying to practice how to dodge or use slide tho-

As a tails player the controls are hard but when you get the hang of it its pretty easy

here strad with tails but some it it get hit go in front spring wait if someone chase and bounce on it u have canon ready shoot they stun not always it still hard

I main shadow differently if I see someone getting chased I jump in and try to block the attack if I fail I back out and wait on the cooldown

To me, the easiest to play is Cream and Eggy, and the hardest for me to play is Amy because no matter if I'm on top of him, I can't EVER hit him!!!! That's just me though.

tbh i actually agree and disagree with cream as a cream main myself. On one hand, if you've NEVER played the game and don't see the whole ability info things for Cream at the lobby or ask anyone how to use her, you might be in some damning issues. On the other hand, if you have AT LEAST one braincell to ask anyone how to play as her and/or to see her ability info on the lobby, with some practice and memory at what they do you can master her kinda easily but also kinda hardly. It just depends on the person, in my opinion. (i know the latter by experience lol-)

As a seal main i mean...Eggman main, i agree that Eggman is easy to play, but since his hitbox is the largest, you're in a big risk of getting killed if you're targeted, dodging may be usefull but you're still at risk of getting hit cuz of lag or EXE'S with very good gamerset and wifi, you also have to time perfectly your stun, it may be easy cuz you can keep it for a few seconds, but if not timed right, you'll be pretty much screwed, not to mention that you are the principal defender, along with Knuckles, so you have to keep an eye on both EXE and your teammates in order to survive. So, in conclusion, Eggman is easy to play but hard to master

Um, call me a wizard but I did rouge on my first try, and yes the exe wasn't spacing out, in fact he was really active. I even restored a generator in the same level. (I played on kind and fair, and didn't know the map btw.)

I very much disagree on your opinion on knuckles. The punch hitbox is huge and very easy to hit. The block is a bit harder, but just having block is like 1 second of Sonic being unable to hit you, and in TD, every second matters.

Ik I was playing today and someone else took Cream which they only healed one person when they had multiple times they could have healed the team which because of that everyone died, also every other time someone else gets Cream before me they dont heal. I only met one person that did heal but that was a few months ago. (Im a Cream main)
