We should have been blessed with at least ONE of these fights. It's such a tease. But tbh? If Tails ever became evil by choice, I think he would be a bigger threat than Eggman. Has at least half his intellect and at least half of Sonics speed - plus he knows his tendencies.

Imagine a boss fight where you have to fight Tails but going too far and straight up killing Tails would force the fight to restart. It would put into scope how powerful Sonic really is and it could be an interesting challenge to limit yourself.

@@slowlydying4914 I don’t think so, they could make tails strong and react to your attacks but have weak defense since his strong suit is more technologically based than physical like knuckles and sonic. Maybe give him a point where he stops to take a breather like he does after flying for a bit.

When I saw sonic and tails almost fight each other, I was so scared that they weren't going to be friends anymore! 😭

I wish they’d built on the “Sonic fighting Tails” thing a bit more. Maybe in a game where Sonic realizes just how much he and Tails came close to fighting and their friendship gets tested in that way. With Lost World and Colors being a sort of buildup to a big climax in their relationship.

Fun Fact: In one of the many sonic comics, theres a scene where Sonic and Tails fight.

However, in the Archie comics they actually fought a rough fight. They were literally zooming and punching each other’s face through the forest, but out of Tails’ rage he beat up Sonic like there was no challenge. How it started was when Sonic and Tails’ parents arguing about Tails but then Tails comes from the ceiling vent and throws punches at Sonic, it was ruthless.

As someone who known Sonic since the '90s but never seen these moments, that honestly stunned me. Still, wish they had fought for once. Well, guess the only way is Sonic Battle...

I think there was a issue of a Archie sonic comic where sonic and tails fought and a sonic and tails fight would have been sad cool and interesting

Person: I have an idea, to be different from Mario, rather than have a brainwashed Tails be a boss for Sonic colors or lost world similar to how Luigi got brainwashed and became Mr. L to be a boss in Super Paper Mario, we should only tease it and not have a fight with Tails. Sega: You're hired!

I think that in Colors, Sonic pushed Tails into the capsule to protect him from any harm from the final boss.

I love how with that scene for Sonic Colors how Tails is able to perfectly replicate Sonic's quick step! But there is actually one game where Sonic and Tails ACTUALLY fought, and that's Battle, & Sonic Battle is actually considered (weirdly) as being in the Dreamcast era.

I’d loved to see a boss fight between Sonic & Tails someday. Like SEGA could literally make a Sonic vs Tails fight in game just like In the Archie comics, but with a little more spice to it!

Your idea at 5:51 could probably work quite well if it was like the first phase of Sonic and Diablon.

There were honestly times in the Meta Era where I felt like something so highly well interesting would wind up actually happen that had never happened before only for it to be like psyche we fooled you but don't worry everything's going to be okay don't you love us for tricking you yet playing it safe? It felt like Sega was purposely playing it much too safe for the kiddos out there because apparently the kiddos can't handle it or in the perspective of the kiddos it's the main hero that needs to save the day and not so much the sidekick or else everything is off balance. I would have loved to have seen Sonic in an actual situation where he actually has to deal with fighting off Tails or at least trying his hardest not to fight Tails and twice I was hugely disappointed when that didn't happen in either Sonic Colors or Sonic Lost World. I even feel like that happened a whole lot in Sonic Forces even with Tails not fighting off Chaos but instead cowering and calling out for Sonic's help despite the fact that everyone thinks that he's dead and then Classic Sonic just happens to come along and save the day. Not to mention but Forces was supposed to be a top notch serious and lighthearted game at the same exact time yet Sega was much too afraid for the ultimate seriousness of the game that they refused to have Sonic tortured or show off actual scenes of characters fighting the bad guys but instead having the characters actually tell us what is going on with the fight instead of showing us. I hope that changes once Sonic Frontiers comes out for we Sonic fans deserve so much more. I love Forces but I can't deny all of that stuff hugely irked me. :(

Great video! Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure the two actually fight in Sonic Rivals 2 (I think cause of mind control again funnily enough) so there’s that…but yeah nothing solid or full on or in the main games! I think it’s a really interesting concept and I definitely think Lost World could of utilised this the best. However, like you pointed out Tails being to get himself out of the situation himself using his smarts was part of his character arc to show he was dependable and that Sonic could trust him.

I hope Tails can get absorb and consume by the Phantom Ruby similar to Infinite in the very end of Sonic Forces. Meaning: Fusion of Tails and Infinite into a better character.

I feel like in order for them to fight, Sonic would have to mess up something so badly to the point where Tails will confront him about failing to save the day like in Sonic X. In that show, Sonic couldn’t save cosmo and in the Japanese edition, I believe he blames him for her death. I would love a game where there at odds with each other and have an battle but put it aside for the sake of the planet.

I think Sonic colours had the best option for a Boss fight, yet I got a different proposition for how the fight could work. It gets teased at the original scene, but as Eggman says, it is a prototype only. No, my idea is, the Nega Wisp Armor, the final Boss. The NWA also has the mind control tanks at all sides, and they all are fully charged, plus he can charge up more mid battle. So why not, when Sonic pushes Tails back to move him to savety, he pushes Tails into a trap, with the train not moving and instead allowing Eggman to fully take hold of Tails, and then in the true fight, most of the NWA fight is still like normal, with the only exception to that being, we have Tails on Eggman's side the whole time! Where instead of just attacking the cockpit, we first need to attack all 4 cannister at the back to losen Tails's control, making him fall onto the boss, yet then we can atttack Eggman himself. Then Eggman sucks up the Wisps and it gets back to the main fight. And for some attacks, we could have Tails assist Eggman in the fight, like the cube attack, imagine having Tails fly to the back with a Rocket wisp in hand, and then blasting through the middle in order to attack you, or him using Drill when Eggman uses Laser to have you move around the sides some more. And heck, as final attack, we could have Tails use a Frenzy Wisp and fall behind, where he feasts on all attacks Eggman throws at you, and you gotta run or get killed by Tails. And right before Tails reaches you, Frenzy ends, he shrinks to normal and becomes Tails again, you attack Eggman again to free the final Wisp, and as the final attack to make it even more epic, have Sonic and Tails attack Eggman together a FINAL time, giving the game a more fitting ending. And, with that we can have Sonic apologise to Tails after for not trusting him enough, and maybe that can lead to Tails becoming more useful again in future games!

I really want a spinoff game where sonic gets corrupted by an evil power, becomes the main villain, and you play as Tails for the entire game to free and save Sonic from destroying everything.

In the Fleetway Comics, Sonic’s constantly verbally abuse to Tails and all his friends… there’s a reason why Fleetway Sonic wasn’t well liked.

Eh, that was the point. The writers did this on purpose to make Sonic an interesting character. One of them legit stated he was a "flawed hero" which they did a good job in doing. It's basically Sonic's whole attitude thing in the 90's but taken too literally which is honestly really cool. In the Online comics, he gets karma for this by being hated in the public for being a total asshole to his friends. The news ignored Sonic's more good-side to his character and focused on his egotistical side which would worsen his reputation for YEARS. This guy is one of my favorite Sonic's and he's the most entertaining

@@porobotboyxxx He was capable of moving at Supersonic speeds while he was brown. Plus, I think it would be very weird to say that Sonic would be weak without his powers when characters like Tails the Fox and Knuckles were equal or comparable to him despite them not gaining any chaos energy.

@@porobotboyxxx plus, even far slower characters like Tekno the Canary who barely is strong compared to the rest of the Freedom Fighters can alone move faster without needing time itself. I'm very certain even without his speed, he should be far faster than most iterations of himself

@@paperprince2953 He did indeed have super speed when he was brown, but when Eggman stole his powers and he turned into a brown hedgehog again. Sonic was powerless and no super speed.

Seeing how well the character growth in Sonic Frontiers was to see Sonic vs Tails to be an rollercoast of emotions to see and to be done right and not cheesy but meaningful because their friends and brothers. 💙🧡

Sonic Rivals 2: unlike those cowards (Colours, Lost World), *I* actually was committed to the mind control angle and had Sonic fight Tails who was being used by the final boss (and vice versa if you were playing as Tails.) But truly it was a different time when Sonic Team weren't cowering in fear of actually having a story that took itself seriously, because it might be compared to 06.

Are We forgetting the final boss battle in Sonic Rivals 2? Where Sonic had to take on not only tails but the ifrit as well

Sonicsta since Sonic prime is cannon to the games maybe wild brain entertainment could take a risk and make these 2 character's fight for the first time, again this is my theory 😁😁

I DON'T want to see Sonic fight his best friend! Unless it's Smash bros. But that's NOT my point! Sonic and tails get along fine, and always have their backs! That's what TRUE friends would do! They stick up for each other and I'm HAPPY and PROUD of them because they're a TEAM! NOT a dictatorship!

what if in lost world tails is completely covered in metal plating all metal sonic style and you have to break the suit by fighting, with it ending in tails regaining control and attacking the deadly six.

Fun Fact: Sonic and Tails actually DO fight each other in Sonic the Fighters. (Though you could say that since Sonic the Fighters is a spin-off and its not canon.)

tbh the “sonic fighting tails” concept in the games would really work well if they have a bigger set up, and a slightly different set up then colours & lost world. instead of tails just saving sonic who’s off guard, maybe like a concept of eggman knowing sonic won’t harm tails as he’s his little brother figure, then go on to kidnap tails or something. we might get a chance to play as tails for a bit to see if we can break out or something, but fail ofcourse for the plot and then see tails becoming mind controlled or robotized. then we have to “free/fight” him as sonic. it doesnt even have to be the main purpose of the game, just an small story inside a bigger plot.

It took a new series like Sonic Prime and an alternate universe Tails to actually properly fight Sonic lol

You can thank the fans for how dumbed down the supporting characters have become. After Sonic '06 they complained about EVERYTHING, eventually leading SEGA to kind of just shelf any teamwork aspects of the games altogether.
