I appreciate this respectful reviewer who listened attentively and didn't talk or interrupt the music. No lifting a bottle of water and chug-a-lugging it down in front of the camera and eating and interrupting. I feel if you're going to review, do it; if you're going to eat or drink, go to the kitchen and get off KZread. Yes, really appreciated this reviewer. The Bee Gees music was unique and beautiful. Thank you for this respectful review.

I was in the grocery store and this song started playing in the speaker. Of course I started singing and swaying as I'm pushing my basket. Then I took notice that all the other shoppers where singing too. It was alot of people being hit with something beautiful at the same time. That was the vibe. Out of this world. Too Much Heaven😇

Finally, someone who waits to hear the song before commenting. That is the proper way to do these reaction videos. When you interrupt without listening fully, you might not understand the meaning or concept of the message being sung, or you just want to hear your own voice without truly caring about the music.

Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 67 yrs old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Robin (Dec. 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012.) Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Barry (the middle) said, 'I'm the last man standing.' He will be 76 on September 1, 2022, which is also the 52nd wedding anniversary with Linda. They have 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren. Barry's voice is a bit more mellow since he is older, but he continues to perform to sellout crowds!! Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins! Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. Barry stated that Andy lived the 'LA lifestyle' involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who turned 78, January 12, 2022. Maurice passed on the same day as her 58th birthday. 😪Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their songs, and songs for other singers, which they recorded after the songs were released for the other singers. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! You may have already listened to the following. I recommend the following songs: (I know it's a lot of songs, but I think you'll like them) How Deep Is Your Love? kzread.info/dash/bejne/iqSl08yOZ9ibicY.html Staying Alive kzread.info/dash/bejne/mIJ63MiwfLCdYsY.html Night Fever kzread.info/dash/bejne/hZ-t0ryuiZnApqQ.html Closer Than Close kzread.info/dash/bejne/n2qMq8ajdauygtY.html One kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYaJx6-gqrKpc9I.html You Win Again kzread.info/dash/bejne/fY6Nm9GSg7bQdqw.html Spirits (Having Flown) kzread.info/dash/bejne/iYt2qNKoddWqc7A.html Bodyguard kzread.info/dash/bejne/eKxputmCe6bZY9I.html Emotion (Destiny's Child did a cover on this, but IMO Samantha Sang (original) is MUCH better. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lJOrtryjn5zHqs4.html At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them for others were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2. ,

Written by the Brothers Gibb (the Bee Gees), this song was released in 1978 when I was a junior in high school. The song was the band's contribution to the UNICEF Fund, and it has its own Wiki page if you'd like details. The Bee Gees pretty much owned the 70's but there is something about this song that just captures the essence of their unbelievable talent. It was an absolute privilege to have the Bee Gees be an integral part of the soundtrack of my teens and 20's. Only Barry is left now and the Brothers Gibb will never be the same, but OMG the music that they gifted us is an absolute treasure. And it is in fact true, that nobody gets too much heaven no more.

Too Much Heaven. That video is from the Bee Gee's live performance at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $11 Million for UNICEF thus far. Keep in mind that in 1979, things like auto tune had not been invented yet. This is just raw talent.

So much musical history on these brothers. They defined an era in the 70’s. Yet, we’re relevant in 4 decades. NO band can brag on that fact. They have written over 1000 songs. The Brothers Gibb -- Oldest Barry (middle) flanked by fraternal twins (not identical as you can see), three years younger, Robin (beardless) and Maurice (pronounced "Morris") --they've been singing /performing since they were pre- teens, with Barry age 9 writing songs until the twins were 10-12 to contribute to the composing. They are UK British-born, with 9 years as pre-teens and teens in Australia before returning to try their fortunes back home in England in 1967 to big success and international mega-stardom.

They then moved to Manchester, then Australia, returning to England in 1967 smashed a few hits out then moved to America and thats where the whole family settled. I like their music more than the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Im more a Janis Joplin, Canned Heat Jefferson Airplane, Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, Bee Gees to Nightwish kinda girl. I have every Bee Gees album. Their list of hits is stupendously huge. Not only for themselves but also for other artists such as Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Dion Warwick, the lists are endless. Their harmonies are simply superb everything is perfect in every song. Their music is not just one genre. You think you know them then they amaze you with something else.

When I was younger, my precious mother would put Bee Gees music on and hold me; sometimes she would comb my hair. I'm blessed to still have her with me, and I now play this music on my phone, and we watch videos of them while I comb her hair. Beautiful, nostalgic memories. This song gives me the feeling that everything is going to be okay in my life. That's what their music does to me. For me, this music is heaven on earth. My 15 year old granddaughter has had her eyes and ears opened. While the other rugrats are playing video games and are on social media, she spends hours every week with me listening and singing along to classic rock, soul, blues, and some jazz. We will even FaceTime each other and listen to the greats as I try to give her the history of the musicians as well as trying to tie the music in with a history lesson. I believe it's important to teach our children what was actually happening in the world when a certain song was written and recorded.

Run DMC :) I think Raising Hell is one of my fav albums ever. I am struggling to think of a great band that has appeared since the 90s? The 90s were awesome for music too,of course. Nirvana etc.

These brothers had over a thousand songs written and sung by themselves from the 60s to 2003 when Mo passed. They also wrote for many other artists. These 3 and their younger brother Andy who passed away very young just as he was about to join the BeeGees were all phenomenal talents with craxy vocal range.

I love when young people realize that back in the 70s and 80s, you had to actually have talent to be a musician. There was no internet, cell phones, auto tune, etc. This is just three brothers, one mike, a full orchestra and amazing vocal talent. This song was recorded in one take for a fundraiser. The proceeds went to UNICEF. BTW, these guys started singing in front of audiences when Barry was nine and the twins (Robin and Maurice) were six. They all play several instruments and they wrote their own lyrics. They also wrote many, many songs for many other artists. Check out Saturday Night Fever's (the movie) soundtrack. The Bee Gees wrote almost the entire thing and they performed many of the songs themselves.

The Bee Gees (among the most successful groups of all time) wrote & released Too Much Heaven in 1978. It was climbing charts world wide (already #1 in US & Canada, #3 in UK) before the Jan 1979 fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated, in perpetuity, ALL their royalties, not just from the UNICEF event, merch & compilation album (as the other bands did, though some just for a limited time), but also their publishing rights. So, UNICEF continues to get paid, from anyone’s version & any use (including in movies, TV, commercials, etc). As the 1st band to make such a donation to charity, they were recognized for it by UN Secretary General, Kurt Waldheim & invited to the White House by President Carter. The last official tally I saw was 2017, saying UNICEF had received more than $11 million from it, for emergency food & healthcare. I’ve seen others post it hit 20 million as of 2019, but I haven’t found a solid source for that. Barry included the song on his 2021 hit album, Greenfields, so that (duet with Alison Krauss) will bring UNICEF even more $$.

@@MischaGER - That's wonderful BUT look at the LP liner notes and see whose names are on 90% of the song credits. Everyone seems to think Barry wrote everything and his brothers were some kind of back up act which upsets me. Even songs like "Guilty" and "Woman in Love" for Streisand, ""Chain Reaction" for Diana Ross, "Islands in the Stream for Rogers, "Emotion" for Samantha Sang, "Immortality" for Celine Dion, etc. either Barry and Robin Gibb or all three brothers. Maurice was by far the best musician and did most of the arrangements. Barry wrote most of the songs when they were young because the twins were over three years younger but they soon caught up. The other brothers also wrote for other people eg, Robin and Blue Weaver wrote the big hit "Hold on to my love" for Jimmy Ruffin. Mo and Robin wrote songs for Robin's several great solo LP's. I find Barry doesn't always make great efforts to dissuade people from thinking he wrote everything. Meanwhile he gets knighted and is "Sir". 😒 What about Robin's musical and philanthropic work? What about Mo's? All did philanthropic work. All sang and composed. Note - Elton said "Their songwriting is simply from another planet". THEIR SONGWRITING. Was Barry great? Sure, but so were Rob and Mo and where is there recognition?

Wow! You really hit the nail on the head with your reaction! Fantastic. You’re 1000% correct that there just isn’t the “music” in music these days. Melodies, harmonizing, beautiful arrangements are all so rare. We were in our prime in the 70’s and the dancing and music was simply wonderful, fun and romantic. Too many today are either just talking through the songs or, women especially, are screeching instead of singing. Mariah Carey has such a gorgeous voice and ruins it with that. Anyhow, thanks for appreciating “our” music. It’s truly appreciated.

I am so glad that I came across your channel today. It always amazes me to watch young folks play a BeeGees song for the first time and hear their reactions to their songs. Everyone responds like they just discovered gold or something. They were talented without a doubt, and perhaps they sung harmony better than any other group you can name. I started listening to them in the 1960s when I was growing up. I loved them then and I still love them today. I know that you have to be pretty young not to have heard of them, so I recommend you find a little movie called "Saturday Night Fever". The music of the BeeGees is all throughout the movie. If you like their music then you will perhaps enjoy watching the movie. Best to you my friend. ( I could recommend more of their songs to you, but I would need two pages here to do so). 💐🌹❤❤❤🤗😉😉😉
