Song of the Birds - Cant dels Ocells - is a beautiful Catalan folk tune and Christmas song.
It gained worldwide popularity in an arrangement for violoncello and piano or orchestra by the great Catalan violoncellist Pau Casals.The last time he played it in public was in front of the General Assembly of the United Nations on 24 October 1971, age 96. The birds chant "Peace, peace, peace".
This is my own arrangement playing the accompaniment at the very beginning and at the very end on the violoncello as well.
