*SAFETY ADVICE:* Firstly, never, never, never use an extension cord coiled up! At high current draw, the heat generated is unable to dissipate. Best case, the insulation melts and fuses together. Worst case, you start a fire! Please heed this advice. Secondly, when drawing this much current, *use only a 12/3 extension cord,* and then the shortest one possible. Cord length causes voltage drop. And lower voltage results in even higher current, generating even more heat. Though the circuit you're using to charge may be protected by a 20A breaker, the circuit should only be used with 1,500W continuous max. Though the charger shows "Power: 1800W", the rated output listed of 84V @ 18A means that it actually yields 1,512W. 4,000Wh/72V=55.5Ah At 18A, a full charge from 100% depth of discharge should be possible in a bit over 4 1/2 hours. The extra lead with two round probes is a NEMA EUR plug for adapting from NEMA 15-5R (125V @15A) to European CEE7 (250V @ 10A). The extra lead with two white insulated conductors appears to be some sort of DC charging cable with signaling. Hopefully we'll find out more about this lead as time passes.

I can't believe they delivered the bike without an easy to remove battery. That's a huge slap in the face of everyone who bought it. I was worried about crap like that, which is why I cancelled my order when they first delayed it late last year. The charging station is basically just some generic AC/DC power inverter with a big heat sink and a cheap fan mounted on top that you would use to run power tools off a car battery. All they did was reverse the connections so you are going from 120V AC to 72V DC instead of from 12V DC to 120V AC. The extra power cord is for European outlets. I think the extra white cord and plug is probably for European connections for the bike battery. Connection standards are different in EU, and I bet that's some standard plug type you have to use for high voltage DC in Europe. The batteries for the bikes they will be sending to Europe probably use that connecter.

I paid a deposit 2 years ago & Sondors still can’t give me any idea of the U.K. shipping cost or when it might arrive here. The fact that the battery is not removable, despite the promo video showing otherwise is nothing short of false advertising & those buttons that are good for absolutely nothing, suggests to me that corners have been cut to make more profit & us customers are losing out as a result. I’m seriously considering cancelling, as this bike is nothing like we’ve been lead to believe & is selling on nothing more than the alloy frame aesthetics

Other than the European electrical outlet cord. The other cord is probably for the accessory battery that they are going to offer that will go into the open space in the top of the frame to charge it. Even though the motorcycles instrument cluster doesn't give any indication of charging. That is actually a good thing that the charging circuit doesn't go through the motorcycles dashboard. My thinking behind that is if the stock charger ever dies as long as you source another charger that puts out the proper voltage and amperage you could always make another cable to charge it with the same pinouts. Hopefully the dash on the motorcycle can be updated via firmware to make the buttons operational. I would check to see if there's a data input port on the instrument cluster that could possibly be used to update the firmware. Another possibility is the USB port in the cell phone charging box might also be a data USB port that could update firmware. However I doubt that they were that forward thinking when they designed it. I also wonder if the USB port is a USB 2.0 or 3.0 for power output. If you get a chance check with different devices of yours to see if it supports quick charging. I'm still looking forward to my arctic white motorcycle. However your video definitely shows the jankyness of their design! You can definitely tell this is their first motorcycle design! 🤦‍♂️LOL If anybody from Sondors reads this comment. Please get someone knowledgeable in the motorcycle industry to help you make the necessary revision changes as production continues. Things to fix in the next revision: 1. Better Seat 2. Better Pegs 3. Properly sized front fender for riding in the rain. The current one doesn't go down on the back side of the tire anywhere near far enough. The front tire will kick up rain right into the top open area of the frame and through the air holes in front of the battery compartment. The area is going to get completely filthy and saturated with water.

I think those two redundant buttons on the display unit are probably because the display is a mass produced item from another company. Those buttons may well have uses when the screen is used on other applications. But, could also become useful in the future if Sondors makes any software updates, etc. And regarding the battery no longer being removable, they probably decided that it'll be a stronger, more reliable item if it's fixed in place. I agree, it would have been nice to be able to remove it and take it indoors for charging, but no biggie. I'm really excited about this bike, and really happy for you to be one of the first people to receive theirs. Happy riding buddy. Looking forward to more videos on the bike.

Sorry fella but this looks so cheap and not what was advertised, I hope they NEVER sell in the UK as with advertising like that with no removable battery they would be sued to high heaven and they would not be able to sell due to trade descriptions act. Also the foot pedals look poor, even the dash looks very low quality such a shame. There is a BRITISH built bike (albeit costs more) that puts this to shame (also a hub based motor) it is called THE MACRAIS ZX8 (i think he is changing the wing mirrors and the dash interface as its in beta but only a month from release) Tested highway specs with the lowest battery is 60 miles at 85mph (£7200) for up to 120 miles highway range (150 city) (£8200). It may not have the looks of the empty space Sondors Design but the Macrais XZ8 bike looks like a symphony of evil. Have a look on Green Mopeds YT channel mate.... All in all I would rather pay the extra and at that price bracket it sits nicely between a HORWIN CR6 PRO and a ZERO bike. No need for an external charging adapter either, also better regen fits two people and the seating is awesome. Please youtube MACRAIS Z8X now THAT is a bike!
