it’s incredible but i think there are two performances that are on the same level if not more breathtaking „Concerto de Aranjuez“ performed bye Paco de Lucia „Last Orders” Guthrie Govan (wirh the Aristocrats on the current tour where i was standing right in front of him) nevertheless - Tommys playing here is just mindblowing!

Bit of a superlative

This arrangement, performance, and its gifted performer are more than special to me. At the end of February 2023, my husband and I played this rendition for my brother, John (who just happens to have been born 3 days before Tommy). John was in absolute heaven listening to it. About 3 days later, he suddenly and unexpectedly died. We found a version of Rainbow on John's piano, where he had apparently been playing it after listening to Tommy, so the remaining siblings (there are 9 of us total) sang an arrangement I made at his funeral. Tommy, this may be the most beautiful piece of music in the world. It speaks to the soul like nothing else. Thank you for being who you are and bringing your own brand of light and beauty to the world. We were blown away by your concert in February 2024, and look forward to (hopefully!) many more. Bless you.

That woman in the front row of the audience who puts her head on the shoulder of the guy next to her ( 0:25 & 2:40 ) - that just sets the mood perfectly for this piece and this performance. It almost seems as though the whole world is at peace, if just for this moment.

actually, playing guitar is like an art. after an art has been painted some people can copy it. but the genius behind that art is one hell of a kind!. what i mean is Tommy's arrangement is like mona liza when it comes to art. it's priceless 👌

how the fuck he manages to do those harp harmonics at the beginning so flawlessly and fast + changes advanced chords with his left hand is beyond my comprehension. I break my fingers and fuck up at slower paces already XD

He is literally a certified guitar player one of 4. I've been playing 20 years and just kinda figured it out.

I have been playing and following other guitar players my entire life since 13 and today I am 63. You may have your favorite(s) we all do but without a doubt, Tommy is the most accomplished guitarist there ever was or is. What he can do on the instrument is head and shoulders far above all others. We may know him for a particular style, however, there is just no one alive today who can do what Tommy does. He also just happens to be my particular favorite.

No words in any language characterize Tommy Emmanuel's brilliance, beauty, and grace in the way he plays. Far beyond the capacity of any single musician, I've crossed paths at age 67 and 60 years of playing the guitar. Tommy is much more; he is so gracious, kind, and loving to every human being and spends much effort helping young guitar players. Tommy represents the very best of us, not only musicians but humanity. Although rare, sometimes God puts those like Tommy in our lives for reasons far beyond our understanding or consideration. What an excellent time to be alive and afforded such a blessing to witness and listen to Tommy play. It humbles me deeply that Tommy is my icon for the love, kindness, and joy he shares with the world. He is my mentor from a distance in expanding my skills as a musician. It takes an extraordinary musician to not only have that kind of technical ability, but also to fully understand the music on an emotional and relational level.

At points, it almost sounds like that 6 string guitar has more than 20 strings. I think that might be the most perfectly tuned guitar I've ever heard.

Probably the best interpretation that exists today of this classical beauty.

I was born in 76 and first watched the Wizard of Oz at 4 years old. This song is dear to me and plucks at my heart strings like nothing else. Thanks Tommy for bringing me back to that time and those memories that come flooding in. This is by far the greatest interpretation of this piece. Blessings

Emmanuel means "God with us". This presentation is nothing short than spetacular! He really takes us for a ride, from here to some magical place, where music like this is created for all of us. God is with you, Emmanuel. Shine your light on us, man.

This is absolute genius from Tommy Emmanuel. I've been playing guitar since 1959 and hearing Tommy makes me want to sell all of my guitars and become a ditch digger. LOL

I would state this we lost EVH this year October 2020 . Tommy is believe could give EVH a good run for his style . EVH was great but Tommy Emmanuel , above the best and will earn his right in any class of past musicians of exceptional talent , a top contender of his generation .
