SOMETHING NEW | Science Life

It's time for a new chapter for A Capella Science. Come with me!
Episode 1: • Jaymie Matthews & Tim ...
iTunes: itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/s...
Hey musical scientists! As I said in the video, I've decided that I need an outlet where I can say more than a few rhyming stanzas every couple months. Plus, my creations seem to have given me some pull with scientists and artists that I really appreciate. So I've decided to start a conversational series of science podcasts, where I try to find fascinating researchers, educators, KZreadrs, you name it, to have engaging conversations with. I'm excited about this!
Oh and don't worry, the songs aren't going anywhere. One is coming very shortly...

Hi folks! A couple of clarifications: 1) Some people seem worried that this is going to detract from me putting out music content. It's fair to say that this first episode took a fair bit of work; the song, the editing, the end-screen, figuring RSS feeds etc. But that's mostly work in the bag now, and future episodes will be much less effort to put together. The other thing is that one of the biggest time-sucks for A Capella Science is actually me gathering information and gaining an understanding of the subject I'm covering. I'm obsessive enough about accuracy that often that's half the total time spent on a project. This actually feels like a solution to that problem. It's quite possible that these conversations will speed up my process, or at least alert me to much more interesting topics for videos. I've been feeling fairly cut off from the science world, to be honest. 2) I'm going to be cutting these interviews into smaller digestible chunks and uploading them as well. I wasn't sure if I would, but enough people seem to be commenting that they don't have time for a hour+ interview that it makes sense. But also, you should know that the podcast is on iTunes, TuneIn, Google Play and a few other podcast apps. So if you're driving or cleaning and you feel like learning instead of daydreaming or getting mad at passing cars, I offer myself as an option! As I said in the video, A Capella Science is here to stay. Thanks so much for supporting me; I'm going to keep trying to improve and grow over the next year. Cheers, -Tim
You had me at "Hey musical scientists" I will literally watch anything you put up.
Honestly, the content you put up never failed entertain (and educate) us. I think Science Life is a great idea to add up with the parodies that you upload once in a while. It'll keep A Capella Science fresh without having your viewers to literally wait for 2 months for a new video. The fact that you're trying your best to deliver the knowledge that you learned as well as attracting more people towards science inspires me. Nontheless, I really hope that Science Life recieves attention as much as the effort that you've put in it. Much love and support from a science fan 💕
Wonderful idea! Can't wait to see what you have in store for ScienceLife! Also, that outro is very catchy.
I don't think I can put in words how much I appreciate and admire the fact that you not only want to make cool content but also go out of your way to really communicate the things you know. I'm currently studying for my degree in physics and I want to be both a scientist and a science communicator. What you do is one of those things that keep me inspired throughout exam sessions and long hours spent burried in books. And I'm sure you inspire many other people too. Keep it up and thank you!
This sounds like a great idea. Maybe create a second channel for Science Life? It's helpful for viewers to differentiate, and you could have people that would subscribe to one but not the other, or both.
Looking very forward to this new series. I'm always out to expand my knowledge on all kinds of scientific areas and love the effort you put into what you do so know that these will be brilliant. I also don't mind listening to longer subject matter, they're a great companion when I'm doing boring cardio at the gym, slogging my guts out on the treadmill/ when out for a walk. Makes much better use of my time than listening to music. Can't wait for your future content :)
Love the idea! I look forward to listening to this! :)
I will suppourt you in just about whatever you wish to pursue Tim. Go get em! Plus those videos could be a great way to cure my acapellascience twitches i get in between your roughly 2 month hiatus's between song releases.
Sweet, I was actually just looking for a new podcast to listen to while driving.
I am so down for this. Will be there at every upload!
Really like the idea! Good Luck!!
This is going to be fun! Count me in!
I think this is a great idea! I understand that songs don't let you go as in depth on a subject as you'd like. For a non-science nerd like me, it's the perfect amount, but I'm totally up for pushing my brain power a little further to try and understand Science Life too.
Like the idea!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TIM!
Looking forward to it!! And nice outro.
You are absolutely amazing!... Should come to Europe.. it would be amazing and inspiring for my medical students
Go for it, Music Man!
really nice work bro!
This is so cool!!! Are you going to make podcasts about neuroscience or medicine in general? That'd be awesome! Simply love your videos! *-*
This sounds amazing
great idea bro!!!
Love it
Funcking love it
I like it.
ok let's see what you can do!
This sounds great, Tim. I think having separate channels would be a good idea.
Regarding being restricted by parodies of existing songs, why not do either extensions (more verses and refrains of an existing song), or just compose your own music? If 128 bars are not enough, why not 256, 512, 1024, 2048? (Or 347, 863, or 1327 if you prefer prime numbers?) If one melody gets repetitive, why not write 5? If monophony gets boring, why not polyphony? Mozart wrote symphonies. Beethoven wrote longer symphonies. Bach wrote The St Matthew Passion which runs 3 hours. You're not limited to 3 minutes. Likewise, if tempos are to fast to convey info, you can slow them or mix them up. If acapella gets boring, get a hold of FL Studio & Sytrus. If you get tired of singing, get Vocaloid. Basically, I'm just saying, the limits you're seeing are mostly illusory and can be bypassed in various ways.
Nice outro!!!:):):):):):):)
sounds awesome! my two cents: get a geologist or someone who works in GIS.
This kind of thing seems more suited to acapellascience2 than your main channel.
What strange sort of room was this recorded in?

Eliza a recording studio. The ridges capture echos so there aren't any in the recording. Google "anechoic chamber" and you'll see what I mean.
3 views! New record!
Not interested in pod casts. Came here for the music. Put ur pod casts on another channel, and promote it here.

It's his channel though. It's up to him. He can upload anything he want to upload. He's still gonna make scientific music anyway. You still can watch them.
