Science Odyssey is a ten-day national campaign of discovery and innovation. It celebrates Canadian achievements in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by bringing together hundreds of events and science outreach leaders. Science Odyssey delivers fun, engaging and inspiring activities to Canadians of all ages, but is particularly geared towards inspiring and engaging youth-the next generation of science leaders.
Science Odyssey brings together government, universities, colleges, polytechnics and institutes, science centres and museums, libraries, schools and educators, parents, and in particular, Canadian youth interested in STEM. In its first edition in 2016, Science Odyssey mobilized 341 partners from all of these sectors, who organized 626 events in 222 cities and communities across Canada.
Canada’s largest STEM celebration is powered by NSERC, a federal agency that is the focal point for discovery and innovation in natural sciences and engineering and ensures Canada is producing major discoveries and world-firsts in cutting-edge, high-impact domains that will shape the world we live in.

LYRICS
Pigeons and doves coo
They're not two birds but one from a deeper view
With life that always holds true
One descent but if you only knew
How clearly
Gulls and geese have had their roots revealed
More than birds
The fossils have the clues to make it real
By the mid-Jurassic they had warm bodies
And hollow airy bones
What would you do
If raptors grew wings and flew
More than birds the stones reveal
Archaeopteryx is real
What would you say
If I told you birds convey
More than eggs and tasty stew
They're a strain of dino too
More than birds
How could life give rise to
Cockatoos from such a monstrous plan
Selection pressure substitutes their
Jumps for glides
To powered flight it tends
Adapting or T-Rex's feathers and wishbone
More than birds
By oviraptor's breeding can be shown
Cause like birds they laid their eggs sequentially
And sat on them to grow
What would you do
If you died while stuck in goo?
More than birds in amber sealed
Dino plumage is revealed
What would you say
If our rooks and birds of prey
Are the ancient kings made new
Cause they're avian dinos too
More than birds

I revisit this song every now and then, and I still find it brilliant. Today it occurred to me that Johan Sebastian Bach could not have done a better job with the harmonies. And the range of Tim's voice is astonishing. This is an absolutely stunning performance. And then there is the text. An equally brilliant lesson in evolutionary biology. The list goes on and on...

@@bethsand2217why shouldn't they? Most of the songs are pretty easy to understand. You do not need a lot of background to get them. You might miss some "easter egg" like book titles being part of the lyrics, but I am certain that the same children that can name you a host of dinos by their scientific name (as my class mates and me were able to do at age 9 because we were in a dino craze) will understand a song about how birds are actually tiny dinosaurs.

After listening to this song for the past week, I had to do a quick listen to the original just to refresh my memory. Wow and more wows to you, again. I had tricked myself into remembering the original as an equally vast harmonic landscape, but no. You've taken a relatively simple harmony and built it into an epic masterpiece. Even if the words were gibberish (of which they are the polar opposite), this would still be an amazing re-harmonization of that song.

There is no biological difference. The words "dove" and "pigeon" are both used arbitrarily to denote species within the Columbidae family. The difference is with connotations. "Dove" has taken on all positive meanings (such as a symbol of peace and the Holy Spirit), while "pigeon" has come to mean everything unclean about the animal. So purely a cultural linguistic difference.

One minor inaccuracey. Dinosaurs have nor been warm blooded since the jurassic but rather have been since their evolution in the Triassic. This is based on the latest research. Though I do understand this video is talking about birds specifically I can see people getting confused with that line.
