Abandon net-zero, the "green" subsidies and regulations, base load power is the only priority we should have, wind and solar fail the criteria for it, so ditch them, get gas, coal and nuclear on there!

OMG anybody with half an inkling of knowledge about electricity could have seen this coming, whoever advises Bowen and the government have obviously got no idea what is going on. The net zero plan sounds so good on the tablet but in reality there will be a lot of obstacles and it will never be a reality.

france has many nuclear power stations all safe , australia could have the same , japan s ones were safe it was the back up systems that was the failure, we in australia produce the uranium so take that off the price of electricty,, the same as we had cheap coal, if it is built in the right place , it will use the existing power lines so that will save billions, so keep the old coal ones going till a viable system is built

Well looking ahead who will dictate how green countries will be and how much power will be allowed per capita. Let me give you a hint it wont be the Western alliance.

Politics & bureaucracy is the most expensive & dangerous aspect of nuclear power. Get rid of Labor, Liberls & Greens. Amend Nuclear bans & get reactors, we need clean base load power asap, keep coal & gas online till nuclear can come online, the price of power will always be expensive in Australia for some time but we need to move forward with the many benefits of nuclear energy.

I wonder if any research has been done into the shifting of the poles which is happening at 45km a year and how much of that affects climate change.

For those who have never studied meteorology/climatology formally, I'm always fascinated when the term 'climate change' gets trotted out. What does it mean, scientifically? I know, but I'm not going to tell you. About 99.99% of people on the planet wouldn't have a bloody clue. We've got goons out there who think it's a bushfire, a flood, a drought, a rainbow, or a seabreeze. Faaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrkkkk!

In Alberta Canada, the socialist government got in for 4 years and got rid of most coal generation, and we now have about 30% of our supply from wind and solar. Electricity prices have tripled, and we now experience energy emergencies on a regular basis. The current conservative government is now trying to fast track gas generated electricity to overcome the issues.

Modern reactors are nothing like the ones that were used in cold war Chernobyl, nor are they like the one that was taken out by a natural DISASTER in Fukushima. Please, do some actual research. There is plenty of real information out there that shows exactly what happened at both reactors.
