She understands exactly what he's saying. Much like doctor's, when you are in a position like that, saying anything that isn't a blanket statement means you are committing to word. You are touting your credibility, and you are putting yourself liable. That's why she fixated ONLY on stopping the level of increase or keeping it within this margin, not how much lower the climate needs to go down, which is a harder thing. Climate change, does have some bearing, but we're tackling it in the literal worst ways possible. Because it's not about climate change, not really. It's about white knighting, siphoning more money out of people who can't afford things to hoard power over them, and controlling every aspect of their life.

Nah, it’s not that people don’t want them, everybody who can afford one has already bought one. The only models available for sale are luxury vehicles, with few exceptions. The cheapest electric car, the nissan leaf, starts at 30k. The cheapest new ICE car is the nissan versa, at 16k. People want them, but can’t afford them.

This is saddening. Just because people are too unintelligent to understand her response, that doesn't mean her response wasn't good. Everything she said was true. The climate does not intantly go back to normal at net zero. It takes hundreds of years for it to go back to normal, and it can only do that if we use carbon capture and then bury the carbon rather than burning it again.

She actually fairly good 😉She has demonstrated she can do a very good job of putting on a scam which is what the job was greatly about. Her outbursts appear rehearsed so she's not really good, but her appearance presentation is excellent. Her job qualification were better than could reasonably be expected for practicing corruption. She's probably reliable in carrying out somewhat intricate corruption which is hard to come by. She worthless for any real future projects without her own personal decision to rehab.

Or just make stuff up. We are dealing with extremely stupid people here, as Granholm's inability to understand the question demonstrates. It is IMPOSSIBLE to generate enough electricity to charge electric vehicles if we replace them all. And anyone hear of a truck, tractor or harvester that runs for a useful amount of time on batteries? No, that's impossible too, and always will be.

I find it sad how we have hundreds of scientists worldwide trying to model extremely complex variables that would not be able to provide an accurate answer, and she is expected to do so. These hearings are "here is an absurd, badly-constructed and simplistic question" followed by "here is completely evasive response". Every time. I see no progress or shared understanding being created. Meanwhile, the actual answer probably would be something like "unless mankind can stop the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the upper limit is probably in the hundreds of degrees (as more and more of the sun's energy is retained), well past societal and environmental collapse. And BTW, the first to suffer from that would be the poor. The poor by definition suffer first, as being rich is basically a cushion."

Prime example of either DEI or the principle that people get promoted to their level of incompetence.

The cause of global warming is not known. Earth's greenhouse effect is always in saturation from water vapor leaving no mechanism that would allow greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. Global warming has been paused at about 1°C for over thirty years with officially global warming being reported at 1.1°C in 1991 and 1.06°C in 2022. There is no science plausible mechanism for greenhouse gas behavior to effect climate. The back of the United Nation's IPCC science report states it took its greenhouse gas samples at 20,000 meters altitude where it is high school level knowledge there is no greenhouse radiant energy. The authors have been legally transparent with their data protecting them from fraud prosecution. This is typical deceptive marketing practice.

One question what happens if you remove too much carbon from the atmosphere = all food sources die

If it takes 1.21 Gigawatts to get an ICE car (with flux capacitor) back to the future, how much power is required for an EV?

Is there no discussion about why the US Canada and Europe are being made to sacrifice the use of coal, oil and natural gas, but the BRICS nations not at all?

Climate is cyclic, weather is not. Weather changes daily, with no pattern. Climate has cycles. We are currently in a warming cycle since the most recent ice age.

In NL the decrease in temperature is estimated at 0,000036 degrees Celsius.

It's not the 'drop' in temperature now, but how much can the temperature be stopped from rising further. We are pretty much past the point of no return, but we must limit it from continuing to increase.

Grid scale battery technology is also weather dependant. The capacity of such a deployment will also be a gamble on how long we can go without optimal sun and sufficient wind.

I was in the real estate business for 40+ years and I remember back in the day and Southern California where they said we didn’t have enough electricity. They said we could only run our electricity on odd even days yada yada yada. I call BS because in order to have build you have to have the capacity to have those buildings access to electricity, plumbing, etc., etc. This is all about causing effect if they make it look like we have a shortage of electricity they can raise the rates

Bad weather?? Spend hundreds of TRILLIONS of dollars to stop bad weather?? Hmmmmm.....it's not passing the smell test...

Nobody knows if any of this will have an effect on temperature at all. It's all about money, power, and control.
