Something Is Not Right... Solving Another Indian Chief Problem

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

💭 Well, this is awkward. Not knowing how the speed sensor works on these bikes. Dang electronics.. Since getting this bike together, one issue I’ve had was with the rear speed sensor. Today, I figure out 100% what the problem is.

    I highly recommend getting a proper length spacer. I have seen the aftermath of blown wheel bearings and it ain't pretty! It destroyed the wheel, pully, brake disc and axle! That was a good solution!

    My fuel line popped off on my 2015 Roadmaster. I had fuel spilling all over my lap while going 65+ mph down the freeway. Just to be safe I ordered and installed a new fuel line. On the baggers, the fuel line exits from the top of the tank under the console.

    So I just purchased stage 2 cams from Indian. Getting them installed on Friday. I wanted the 585 but they’re on back order and out the door they’d have cost double. Hope I did the right thing !

    Been there. Back in the day, I had a V-Rod and made the mistake of letting a Harley dealership put a new tank on it. I was literally wringing the fuel out of my jeans when I made it home.

    Yeah, not wise to have the wrong spacer. That bearing will work its way in and you’re going to end up with the sensor getting torn up. Worse case scenario you end up with some wonky front end handling and possible wreck.

    Isn't there a thicker bearing or spacer you could use instead? (NM you admitted a new spacer would fix this correctly)

  • @BrandonBicasso

    @BrandonBicasso

    22 күн бұрын

    Maybe. I didn't consider using a thicker bearing. However, the hub is only so deep on the side allowing a non toner ring bearing. The side with more clearance uses the toner ring bearing and those are pretty standard. I wasn't able to find an aftermarket solution for that bearing awhile ago. Same for my Low Rider S which uses a similar style bearing.
