‘Someone’s got to do it’: The Snake Hunter explains his profession
‘The Snake Hunter’ Mark Pelley reveals the reasoning behind his choice of profession.
Mr Pelley said the creatures play a “very important” role in the environment.
“Someone’s got to do it,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“If I don’t go around catching snakes, then people will try to kill them.
“When I was in hospital and I thought I was actually going to die from a snake bite, my final message where I couldn’t even open my eyes to the community was to still keep away from snakes and leave them alone.”
