I've got a girl friend who I've had feelings for since I first met her. Then I learned she is asexual, but still desires a romantic relationship. She is a dear friend, and I do know that if I cross this line, there will be no going back. She's been guarded for as long as I've known her, and while she's admitted it, I really feel like being with her would be a mistake, even though I'm very physically attracted to her. She has said that she's open to dating anyone, if people would ask her out. I've held my tongue because I'm afraid of being wrong. My emotions have led me astray before. I need wisdom for this situation.

I remember back in the 80’s I had a best friend who was a guy. At one time he was engaged to my other best friend. After they had been broken up, he asked me why we never hooked up. I told him that I looked at him like a brother, and I was afraid if we got together and then broke up, that we would have messed up a great friendship.

Point. No 4 is something I can attest to, this happened to me 7 years ago, I’ve healed now but the pain is still there it just doesn’t hurt as much, this happened before I got saved which made dealing with this all the more difficult. Mark is right, when he says one of the worst pains in life is when you realize how much you hurt someone else. You in turn get hurt so bad because you realized the one you love you end up hurting. My life revolves around this, I’m so afraid to love again because of how much I hurted someone from the past, it took a good friend and woman to open up my eyes and my heart again, and I’m glad God shown me mercy in the face of the unforgiving anti-christ spirit I’ve created from my former friend as a result of my foolish decisions. Making bad choices that hurt the ones you love the most there’s nothing more mentally and spiritually devastating than realizing how much you hurt someone. I know this because I experienced this, and nothing hurts more when you see this person again in an attempt to reconcile, then seeing her just turn away from you in seething bitterness and hatred so much so that I not only hated her but I hated myself and can’t forgive myself, I couldn’t live with myself, death sounded better than the pain and torture of realizing I’ve created an unforgiving spirit out of my own selfishness. I’m much better now but I still afraid to love because I don’t feel worthy to love anyone else, I don’t want to hurt the people at least I don’t want to get that close to someone again because I’m only good at creating strife and hurting people I like to tell myself I’m a good person but only God is good and knowing that I have no capability of being good and loving to someone else can hurt like hellfire. I would love to get married and be a Godly husband and father to my future children someday but I’ll never be a good man to my future wife I’ll alway find a way to break the hearts of those I love because that’s all I know in life. I loved people again but I don’t think I can see msyelf becoming loving as a good future husband/father even though I want to be one so badly. I just hope that somehow God gives me the person that can help me FULLY see myself being capable of loving someone and not breaking hearts and creating bitterness. I’m still trying to find my place in Jesus Christ I’m saved but I can’t help but sometimes feel lost in my own pain, God forgets our sins but I can’t forget mine.

You said it yourself, God forgave you but you cannot forgive yourself. Ask God to give you mercy and grace to be able to forgive yourself as you have forgiven others. God can make you into that loving husband you desire to be. Allow God to mold you into the man you want to be. We are called to imitate Jesus. Surrender all to God, rebuke pride. Who are you to say what you deserve? God is the one who decides by grace. If he presents you a good woman, be humble and accept the love God is giving you. He will heal you brother. Remember, 1st love God, learn lo love yourself, and then love others. Accept the grace that is available for you. We are all sinners yet Jesus died for us. Use that same mercy to forgive yourself. Never be afraid to love❤️ be brave

@@chelsearouser5552 Hello. It did not end well but that's because it's a long story. I personally don't feel it's the end for us but I also accept that it could be. It was/ is a very painful process going through the emotions. But I believe all this happened because God wanted me to seek Him. God was in my daily life but He wasn't first. He was probably fifth or sixth. Now God is first in my life and I am thankful that God took me out of depression and anxiety which are suppressed emotions I've had since childhood. God is really working on me and maturing me spiritually and I am so thankful everyday. I would suggest to pray thanksgivings to God and read your Bible. It helps a lot!

@@chelsearouser5552 Thank you. I've definitely began to understand the true meaning of God's will and God's timing. It still hurts and sometimes I still find myself cursing him but then I tell myself to stop. If you keep replaying the past in your head, you will stay there and get upset all over again. And I told myself I will NEVER go back there again. When everything first transpired and I first started to pray, I used to tell myself, "Please let us be together. " Then I would say, "I don't want to be with him; I want to forget him. " But after a few weeks, the Holy Spirit led me to pray for guidance, understanding, wisdom, strength, and repentance. And when I did pray about him, the Spirit led me to say something to the effect of, "God I'm not sure if he's the one you have for me, but...". I'm 32 and I moved half way across the country. I was nervous that maybe I had missed the one by moving away. After 5 months of praying (and I'm talking about PRAYING like the first 2 weeks I went to church every night , did a bit of fasting, played prayer videos while I slept for about a month, read my Bible), the Holy Spirit finally whispered to me, "Youre not married yet because you would not have been able to help who I wanted you to help and accomplish what I wanted you to accomplish if you were married or had kids." Additionally, a few months before, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that it was OK to still think about him and think about the "what ifs" but to not get obsessive. So pretty much, I have faith I'll get married and have children but it's all in God's timing. I would suggest to KZread some videos on "prayer for a spouse ". There's one 10 minute video. I watched it everyday for about a month because it was so powerful. It taught me the basics of prayer and how to pray for my own spouse. Theres so many of the enemy's attacks and strongholds that could be delaying marriage. Finally, this entire debacle with my ex has taught me that the bigger picture isn't marriage, children, education, money, family. It's all about our salvation. This life is not forever but our soul is eternal. Judgment Day is real. So even though I definitely desire a family of my own, I understand that that is a ink drop in an ocean.

Thank you for your ministry Mark. I'm confused, and hope it's okay if I respectfully ask a question. So I've learned from your ministry that there IS "the one" that God has for you. I know that soul mates are real. There is one thing in this video that seems incongruous with previous teachings. If a person is called to marriage, then God has one person for him/her. Hypothetically speaking, suppose that two people God meant for each other have problems, one gets hurt and doesn't want to reconcile, but that person is "the one"? If God's will is sovereign, how can it be possible for a person to lose "the one?" Thanks if you can help.

  • @WhiteboyUltima

They can't be 'the one' if they won't reconcile freely. Also Mark says in another video that soulmates aren't a thing m. There is nothing Biblical to support that idea.
