This...I ran cross country and track in high school. Walked everywhere and took the city bus. Running 45+ miles a week during the summer. Then after high school, my activity took a steep decline. Found out I had scoliosis and my moving all the time kept me from really noticing it. I learned that physical activity and movement, and a consistent relationship with my body is my foundation. When that fell off, my foundation did. I'm so happy that I've found a page that doesn't just focus on hard-core weightlifting and gains (nothing wrong with that btw), but simply moving as well. Focused and intentional moving. My relationship with my body has seen its ups and downs. But digestible, day by day, one day at a time personal communication sessions with my body has helped me understand not only my personal physical foundation, but mental and spiritual as well. You touched on how our body shows up for us and that hit home. No matter what we do, our body compensates and tries to achieve balance. Might as well work right along with it 😄 This audio is 🔥🎯💯 thank you for what you do!

I love this. Everything - thank you for sharing your experience! 🫶🏼🙏🏼 Also “foundation” is what put it best. Mentally, spiritually & physically we need a solid foundation to build on. And that can be as simple as a regular movement practice, meditation, or a brain dump.

Feel free to share your experience about this with me ❤️🩹. Focusing on movement & actually becoming fit over just wanting to look fit has helped me immensely to appreciate my body AND what it looks like any given moment 🤸🏼♀️🏋🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️. Also: there’s nothing wrong with wanting to change - but being nice to your body will help you build a better relationship with yourself in the process.

Beautifully put! "Your body shows up everyday for you, so you have to show up for your body" couldn't have said it myself. I think the greatest thing I've learned in weight lifting is self love/self care.

I agree, I am beginning to appreciate this my body. I might not be content with where it is but I'm grateful to God that it is able to move and carry me around. I have started taking mobility seriously, I used to think I needed 1hr of hard exercise to change my body but with mobility, I am impressed with what my body is able to do with just mobility.

This is amazing Joan! And I agree. Sure, “hard exercise” has its place occassionally - but not as much as the fitness industry makes us believe it. Caring for our bodies can be as simple as doing a regular mobility practice 🙏🏼.

That’s such a good way to put it Agathe. I had a similar talk with a friend the other day - being “in it” as in being in the process of improving in itself is an achievment and should be valued a lot more. 🫶🏼

this philosophy uses two concepts that are not entirely clear to me: love and self. im sorry, your message makes no sense to me unless you make an outline of what you mean by the self and if you dont intermix love and value.
