Maiya is amazing with PMJ but the reason this cover is special to me is as much this band and arrangement as it is Maiya. I prefer scary pockets and stories to PMJ.

look up her cover Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Soul Green Day Cover ft. Maiya Sykes brought me to tears.

Either those notes are just on the very edge of his vocal range, or he's the best emotional singer I've ever heard. Either way, that was amazing. The slight cracks and straining to hit the high notes fit the song perfectly. Both singers were incredible, and let's not forget the band doing a fantastic job backing them up.

Both, his range is insane but hes also singing with a lot of emotion here. When he's harmonnizing with her hes in falsetto and then the one time pulling chest pretty damn high for a guy. Id be interested to see his entire range because im sure he can hit some lows as well.

Sometimes too singers will purposefully go 1/64th (or smaller) flat or sharp in order to bring a certain tone of emotion - when you have the kind of comfort and control of the vocal instrument like Charles and Maiya have, it's a really effective device

Very edge of his vocal range? Damn. Falsetto isn’t in the vocal range per se. It’s just hard to centrol breath during falsetto when you “jumped” there from a low key.

Charles at 2:53 is EVERYBODY right now! The lyrics of this song blow me away. Dude is in essence saying, "Yeah I'm not really emotionally here in this relationship, and I'm SO glad it's over, but you just ghosted me and I thought I'd remain somewhat important to you." Wow the ego!

love the way he looks over at her...all proud...like "she's about to tear this song up!"... I have such goosebumps. The blank stares off into space. The talented band! Wow!

This lady's voice truly has the abliity to tell stories with her singing...bravo..

These two together are magical, I love the harmony.

Their harmonies are out of this world. Too many singers battle when they need to blend, wisdom here is out of this world. Fan forever.

I love how powerful Maiya's take on the song is. So nuanced and perfect that Charles had to break character and just appreciate and groove with it. And Charles's interpretation is flawless as well.

Thank you for not having them stare into the camera. It is so much better when you let the song tell a story. This is a great performance.

You know you are listening to something special when the guy is nailing falsetto soprano notes and the woman is hitting high tenor.

I love watching Charles react to Maiya singing. This guy is awesome.

This is incredible. The emotion in the vocals and slight spokenness of the lyrics is what this original should have been. Gonna have this on repeat.

Great cover. Maiya's voice was amazing. Charles was pretty darn good, too, but I would have liked to hear him belt out some of the parts where he was singing falsetto. That could be mind-blowing.
