Hi, in the middle of spring a whole house, it is quick once it is all masked up but the fums are a bit strong with oil based under coat and gloss, that's the only thing but emulsion is fine. I am doing it my self to save money I think I need to change trades, as I can only earn as a chef £10 an hour I am getting very frustrated with this trade its not one I would recommend its rubbish but keep going thanks for showing this.

You have to get spraying if you aren't already, thats one thing ive noticed across the trades here in aus, and uk is the uk is a long way behind us with methods etc. And we are still way behind the USA. Ive got plenty of family who hate the spray gun us younger painters barely touch a brush. A lot of that stuff your showing you just gap at the end and one coat with a brush and done. What you need is a decent amount of time on a spray gun and a guy who can learn to mask in front of you. Things like the stairwell you can stick an extension on spray the corners and even the wall section then roll up into it when doing the stair case. So you don't have to scaff stairwells etc. And the older guys that are anti-spray its just because you dont know how to use it. Theres a bit in using right tips etc FFLP is how you go. Also the sprayer you can use a power roller, which is a massive time saving also, as there is no roller tray. So you can just stick a long line on the airless and have no tray can get up onto roofs into awkward areas much quicker. When your going for lunch just take out the pressure stick a couple of plastic bags around it, then start again later. I also leave the spray in the paint sometimes for days and put a drop sheet around the tin, take the pressure out, then turn the tip on its side which seals the paint in the nossle or you can take the tip guard off and just leave it with the tip in water. It also eliminates picture framing on walls, which in high light areas is unavoidable with a brush and roller.

The firm i'm on for have a fair few lads who spray now, and they all reckon it's 100% worth it, i mean this geezer is obviously a bit greedy, the blokes i know who spray plots reckon they shave around 2 days off each plot, which is fair enough and it is less work than brush and roller, maybe it's the future? But you do have some good points on the downsides of spraying em out

@@camdecorations9779 the pessimist in me reckons spraying is a bubble waiting to burst see, it's going to become the norm eventually, and when most painters are spraying i think either gafas or builders are gonna start cutting prices, I've seen it on a few firms with mist coats, 1 price to roll and a lower price to spray, based on, "well your doing it in less than half the time". If that logic ever crosses over to plots I think it could be a tricky transition. Hopefully that's just me seeing the glass half empty, and I do really like the idea of spraying so hopefully prices stay good and we all get rigs and earn a fat fortune! That would be nice
