Many moons ago I was getting ready to go to bed. I stood up to switch the T V off and this came on. The drum beat had me hooked in seconds! I sat down and watched one of the best 80's films ever made. I went to bed a happy man. This film was what the 80's was all about!

“Mess with the bull, you get the horns” “WHERE’S THE FUCKING MONEY KEITH?” “Break his heart and I’ll break your face” “Keith, you still haven’t told me when you’re getting your hair cut” Damn I love this film. I first saw it on TV when it was first shown on itv in the uk. I was totally consumed by it and I think I was 20 at the time I saw it. And that one line from Keith changed me and gave me hope.... “The moment you stop believing that there’s someone out there for you, it’s over, isn’t it?” That one line alone, gave me hope that one day I would find someone :)

Such a fun John Hughes flick. He can take cliches and weave them into gold ... poor guy pines for rich girl but he is loved secretly by his best buddy Watts. I enjoyed Duncan the skinhead a lot, he was so funny as a counterpart to Keith. And Hughes puts terrific tunes in his films. (By the way, this video needs updating, it looks, well, not clear, and full screen.)
