Solo Winter Camp in a heated 'Snow Globe'
I set up a Geodesic Dome shelter in the woods. I put a wood burning stove in my 'igloo' to cook on and spend the night alone in the forest.

Hi Andy, I dont normally comment but watch all your videos, I have to say mate, my hat is off to you on this one, setting up that dome as well as filming, always moving the camera for different angles as well as connecting a thousand poles together...well done sir! Really great video as always. Stay safe out there mate 👍

These are getting popular in Canada for Winter camping or Glamping, as it's called. They are set up in campgrounds on insulated platformsThey have cots and a heater and everything else you need to survive a -30c night.. All you bring is your food and sleeping bags. They even have heated washrooms and showers available. A great way to see the Milky Way or maybe, the Northern Lights.

Glamping, a concept Canadians must of brought from South Korea. It’s rather big there in Korea, with the same sort of amenities, heated showers, WiFi, etc. I would hate to see what happens if anyone of them resort to camping the old World way. Rather archaic and unglamorous, no way to get a WiFi signal if in the deep woods.

Winter camping in the UK is not for the faint hearted! Getting on now I feel the cold a bit and I had my last camping trip about 5 years ago, and it wasn't the best of experiences. But watching your video makes me appreciate my comfy bed, electric blanket and snuggly duvet all the more while I watch you shivering! Thanks for reminding me. Great video and most unusual tent...

Wow. Honestly, I like this so much. It's so great. I may get one and modify the clear dome with some canvas, keep the upper quarter of it as the clear.make the rest canvas add a proper stove jack. It would be a mean hunting season week trip tent.

Super set up! Would be great to sleep in during a lightening storm. Love the fact you can stand up and move around in it. Lots of room for friends. I was a bit worried the chimney might melt the plastic. You really made the experience nice with your lights. You looked frozen when you woke up. Looks like keeping it warm is the only downside. Probably better to use in warmer weather in a more sunlit area. I was amazed how fast it erected. Great little green house for growing veggies. Great video, Thanks for sharing this unique camping experience Andy. Really enjoyed it.
Hi Andy, little advice from an Italian: wait for the water to boil, then put salt, (so it get's to a higher temperature), and then throw the pasta in the pot. The result will be so much better!! Love your videos, I follow you you from way back!!!!

Hi Andy, I live out in the country and have been thinking about getting a dome and putting it out on the back of my property. I’ve always thought these domes were cool. So glad you did a video on one, now I really want one. 😂
Enjoying your videos. I’ve watched several of them. I was delighted to notice the Kent connection, since my ancestors left there in the 1600s to travel to what became the USA. Imagine trying to explain this to them! As for me, it’s been 50 years since I’ve camped, and I’m presently 10 months into recovery from a craniotomy. So nice to remember the woodcraft that once so facinated me, and overcome insomnia by spending time with a gentle friend who appreciates the wonders of the world. Thanks!
If I come across that in the woods, I'd swear the Martians had landed.

I’ve lived in a few benders here in the Uk over the years . Pretty much the same design without all the plumbing 😂and a little more privacy . Love all these weird and wonderful vids of wacky camping set ups you share 👍
Daft or not this was one of the most entertaining and enjoyable videos of recent times. Simply luvved it! I can see however that it has limited uses by the camping public. Hardly useable in public camping spaces (for obvious privacy reasons) but utterly suitable for solo overnight sojourns where you are not going to be erecting (assembling?) this every night … I can’t see it being totally useful in a domestic or beach setting as it has no solar protection and will accumulate heat during the day. Even as a day ‘tent’ it’s not going to win too many fans as there is no shade … For what you did bloody brilliant! Thanks for the insight. PH in Oz (where it gets hot).
Brilliant go on the roux for that mac and cheese. What a peculiar set up. I have to be honest, I love equipment with fewest poles etc. to set up and that was absolutely maddening watching you have to put your geometric globe together but quite a reward for the views inside. Best to your travels!

You might contemplate using the stove sleeve to block the ventilation hole next time and live with a little condensation, as it might trap the heat much better in the dome. That is, if you go camping with the dome another time. At that price, £500 for the dome, you'd better, as it otherwise would be a very expensive camping trip 😊
