    There are always people who put a thumbs down. Some do it just for attention. Eg if you look at the google ratings for Chichen itzá, the bad ratings are usually for people looking for attention and making jokes about pizzas. As of now this video has like 70 thumbs down and thousands of thumbs up, so most people (including me) agree that this is a great instructional video (that I’ll likely watch many times0

    Thank you for this video Guro/Sensei... I always wanted to learn Kali because it's practical, effective and I'm a Filipino. Basics are a good thing to start with to build a strong foundation... please keep teaching us online... especially the weak and the bullied insignificant commoner like me. God bless you Guro/Sensei.

    By doing the wrist twists too much you also end up over tensing the tendons in the arm. It's a great way to get tennis elbow. Realistically going through twirling strikes slowly but repetitively is a safer way to develop the dexterity and endurance needed without increasing the risk of injury

    Thank you for this video I have subscribed to your channel, and am about to check out your other tutorials. I bought a pair of sticks because it looks cool to see someone whirl them, and perhaps not a bad way to exercise at the park. One question, and I mean no offence by it, does all the twirling serve a specific purpose, or is it more for show. I think perhaps if you are actually going to use them for fighting, which I think is unlikely (unless you take the sticks to an actual fight, which would indicate premeditation and go against you in court), it may confuse your attacker, regarding the direction from which the actual blow will come, is this the reason?

    Hey master!!! I want to ask if this video is ok to use as my first beginners training? I'm only doing it alone at home and I have no records of training in any sorts of martial arts and also I don't even exercise. But because I got intrigue in this FMA style I wanted to learn it!!! Unfortunately there is no available training centers in my area and if it did, my Mom won't let me to. I hope master can see this comment and maybe master can give me guides as a beginner. I'm going to make this my nightly drill now 😂

    I’ve been watching a few of your videos since quarantine started-and noticed that your free hand slaps your inner elbow once in a while. When and why do you do that? Is it to keep your free hand occupied? I noticed in my videos that my free hand dangles, as if it’s been chi-blocked, lol.

  • @mcanastacio

    @mcanastacio

    4 жыл бұрын

    lol @ chi-blocked! It's a tendency I picked up. It keeps my free hand (called the safety hand) active and awake so it flows with my armed hand (called the live hand). It allows my safety hand to eye jab, check, etc. in co-ordination with my weapon strikes. It also heavily develops when you train double stick, so naturally it transfers back to your single stick as well. Lastly, it's a physical cue to let me know I've successfully transitioned into (or back into) a "closed position"
