There are always people who put a thumbs down. Some do it just for attention. Eg if you look at the google ratings for Chichen itzá, the bad ratings are usually for people looking for attention and making jokes about pizzas. As of now this video has like 70 thumbs down and thousands of thumbs up, so most people (including me) agree that this is a great instructional video (that I’ll likely watch many times0

Some people are just ignorant
Thank you for this video Guro/Sensei... I always wanted to learn Kali because it's practical, effective and I'm a Filipino. Basics are a good thing to start with to build a strong foundation... please keep teaching us online... especially the weak and the bullied insignificant commoner like me. God bless you Guro/Sensei.

Thank you so much! I'm so sad that I don't have the opportunity to spar with a partner bc I don't go to martial arts school but my fighting spirit is hungry and I have to feed it somehow :)

You can try the file of tires and try strike with it 2-3mins straight then rest for 1 min. 3 rounds is enough 😊👍.
Never knew these exercises. Thank you!
Mark, Enjoyed your solo kali video since don't have access to a dojo or partner, etc. Its a good practical video ! Looking forward to try your exercises !!! Feels like UNDERSTANDING relationship with your stick, body mechanics, SPATIAL RELATIONSHIPS, etc. Please consider doing more solo type videos again. Thanks.
I must thank you for shearing your skills with no monetary gain!

Great video! Thank you. Do you also have a video for 2 sticks or should i practice mirroring the other side? I imagine that at some point they'd have to intersect like an egg beater.
Hallo Mark Anastacio salam from Indonesia...Im intrested Your technik ..Arnis... Its very good.. n Im want to learn its ... !!
Thanks for the tips bro
I bought a pair of kali sticks even though I don’t learn kali but I want to know how to use the sticks. This video really helped, thank you.
It really helps me alot bro... Thank you
Great video Mark... Where do u recommend buying the sticks?
Thank you!!
Great video thanks, a close up explanation of the twirling would make it even better 👍🏼
Exelent
By doing the wrist twists too much you also end up over tensing the tendons in the arm. It's a great way to get tennis elbow. Realistically going through twirling strikes slowly but repetitively is a safer way to develop the dexterity and endurance needed without increasing the risk of injury
Started training in Kali (at a JKD/Inosanto lineage) and it's been eye opening in terms of the practicality (disarms, defanging the snake, footwork, etc). Really excited to try out these drills you've shared! Awesome content, Mark!

The Buddha of Knowledge Michaels thanks Buddha!
Eskrima was taught to us in Highschool. Just only the basics. But it was a good exercise.
5:43 reminds me of a similar exercise used with nunchucks.
Nice and clear explanation, Thanks for taking the time to make this video☺️👍
Thank you.
Nice video! Shows me how out of shape I am!
Thank you for this video I have subscribed to your channel, and am about to check out your other tutorials. I bought a pair of sticks because it looks cool to see someone whirl them, and perhaps not a bad way to exercise at the park. One question, and I mean no offence by it, does all the twirling serve a specific purpose, or is it more for show. I think perhaps if you are actually going to use them for fighting, which I think is unlikely (unless you take the sticks to an actual fight, which would indicate premeditation and go against you in court), it may confuse your attacker, regarding the direction from which the actual blow will come, is this the reason?
Sad your gym is not in the Philippines coz I’m searching one. Nice video tho. Will try at home 🙂
impressive.
❤❤❤❤شكرا
Thank so much master pleaes sir ..How the good way in fighting arnis the body moves so i can catch the points by the opponent
How do you grip the stick while performing this drill? I noticed that it wasn't completely in your hand but, in your fingers.
Hey master!!! I want to ask if this video is ok to use as my first beginners training? I'm only doing it alone at home and I have no records of training in any sorts of martial arts and also I don't even exercise. But because I got intrigue in this FMA style I wanted to learn it!!! Unfortunately there is no available training centers in my area and if it did, my Mom won't let me to. I hope master can see this comment and maybe master can give me guides as a beginner. I'm going to make this my nightly drill now 😂

Wow!! Honoured this video helps you sir!
I’ve been watching a few of your videos since quarantine started-and noticed that your free hand slaps your inner elbow once in a while. When and why do you do that? Is it to keep your free hand occupied? I noticed in my videos that my free hand dangles, as if it’s been chi-blocked, lol.
@mcanastacio
4 жыл бұрын
lol @ chi-blocked! It's a tendency I picked up. It keeps my free hand (called the safety hand) active and awake so it flows with my armed hand (called the live hand). It allows my safety hand to eye jab, check, etc. in co-ordination with my weapon strikes. It also heavily develops when you train double stick, so naturally it transfers back to your single stick as well. Lastly, it's a physical cue to let me know I've successfully transitioned into (or back into) a "closed position"
thanks
Thank you so much for thinking about ppl that like to learn solo’ so can you post or is it same motion for a longer’ stick ;
Can you make one specifically for twirling..? I've never been able to find any on that besides "how to twirl a pencil"; and I can never figure out if it's supposed to leave your hand as you twirl or if it stays in your grip the whole time..
Es un arma muy efectiva contra mas de un oponente sin ser mortal , además por su forma la puedes portar sin levantar sospechas por que la puedes usar de bastón .
I trained Bō staff first then nunchucks... Then hand to hand but I don't have time in Arnis since module in school...
Hey man! Just wanted to say thanks for uploading these videos. Subscribed to show some love for your effort in putting these out ! Rspkt
