Im 46.Always did sports but got lost with work and life in the past years. Got upper back and shoulders problems. Started Kali slowly for 2 weeks. Incredible how my back shoulder feel better already. Im gonna get more flex and stamina soon and get the course soon. Very good teacher, very clear explanation. Im very thrill to have found this site. Cant wait to get better and learn new stuff. Mid 50's, looking for some strength training along with some self defense. Started this today, real slow and wow felt really good. Muscles ache in a good way and one added benefit, my mind felt so refreshed and focused! Thank you for this! Looking to continue at least 3xs a week!

I see the URL now. Thanks! One problem I have when I train with an instructor is I look at his sticks and messes up my drill.
LOVE THIS VID (and channel). I'm a solo instructor w/o an org. to work with. I've been doing (and teaching, as part of my TKD-JKD program) single stick work for a few years and am pretty good with the basic 12 count. I mean, I KNOW how to swing me a stick! Lol But double stick? ... Not much more than "a clue". Furthermore, I didn't know how to start, beyond the "1-4-2-3 drill" I learned many years ago. I had checked out a few vids a couple of years back. They did not seem to clarify matters. So, I stopped watching. Then I came across this gem a couple of days ago. This vid does clarify it, big time. Love it. It is a GOOD starting point for me to train, then share. So, BIG THX!!! I do have one question: Do you have a "basic and intermediate blocking" vid? I mean, I do know a couple of blocks and parries. But, for instance, in the "12 count drill" that I was taught, there is a block in the 12 count from '11' to '12' that goes behind the head with the stick pointing more or less down. Now, I include it because I was taught it goes there. But, I don't know how to use it.* I don't remove it because highly skilled ppl have taught me it goes there and as the saying goes "A good mechanic doesn't discard a part just because s/he doesn't understand its purpose". *The reason/story of why I did not learn its use is "a long and not very interesting story". Ask, if you are curious, but as I said, its not very interesting. Lol
Es muy buena terapia para los hombros

I like mixing Arnis and Aikido together.
I have had some kali sticks for 5 years or so and have not done anything with them, till now. Mine are heavy wood. Hickory I'm guessing. And I'm strong. They are hard on the wrists. Perhaps I'll get yours.

Nice! Glad to inspire you to start using your sticks. Yes, our rattan sticks are best for practice and development 👍🏼
I have escrima sticks. Do those work? I have 2 pairs a traditional hardened bamboo one and a more modern sleek looking one that isn’t bamboo but it’s glossy.

I don’t have any Chapter leaders in UK. Not sure who is training how we do out there. Sorry but perhaps in the future someone will want to represent KC there.
Some of these movements are the same I learned years ago doing my security training with batons and knife defense.

Lololol I use a pool cue sleeve. They fit, too 😊

Hi Paul can I please ask. When you go up the X, what part of the body are you attacking. All the best.🇦🇺

Targets will depend on range, timing and positioning. Primaries are hands, eyes and knees. 👍🏻
How much does it cost. Could I avail it through COD.
do you have any training center? And are you from Philippine?
would this be a good martial arts for a 30 year old with no MA back ground , with kinda bad knees ?

I mean that’s all great and that but no big message yet.
Got a buddy that, former SWAT, LEO, Marine etc. that loves this fight technique. Something I don't get is, how is this a good close combat skill when you mostly won't have sticks on you? Not being sarcastic.

A tip, for beginners an open hand demo would be nice to show with what you are striking with if open handed.
