Solo Build Challenge: Mastering My Geodesic Dome | Part 3 - "Dave" the GOAT Approves!

An epic journey of strength and precision in the latest chapter of my geodesic dome build. Inspired by the enigmatic TARDIS from "Dr Who," this dome may look compact from the outside, but step inside, and you're greeted by an expansive 285 sq ft of activity space. Towering at 11 feet high and 20 feet wide, it's constructed with robust steel and protected by a super thick PVC cover featuring a skylight and a vast panoramic window. This thing is hurricane rated for up to 300kph winds, and an impressive130sqft pounds of snow. I have the engineering papers to prove it, and a county permit in hand.
This episode took a solid four days-more time than anticipated, but perfection takes patience. I started with a durable base of 3/4" plywood, carefully taping all seams for impeccable integrity. Next came the strategic layering of R4 1" foam insulation atop the plywood, each seam meticulously taped to fortify against the elements. The challenge escalated with the addition of 1/4" OSB, secured with around 200 screws and expertly sealed.
The finale was the installation of high-durability, waterproof vinyl snap-in flooring. The precision required for the 15-sided dome meant every cut had to be angled just right, demanding not just technical skill but true grit and determination.
When I set a vision, I commit fully, employing the best of my knowledge and abilities. It's about conquering challenges, pushing limits, and crafting a space that not only stands the test of time but becomes a sanctuary for family and friends to enjoy for years to come.
Watch as I turn vision into reality and share this journey of crafting not just a structure, but a symbol of what one can achieve with determination and hard work. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to catch every moment of this creative build

The Dave is just hilarious! Love the A-Team theme and the small Queen reference….😂. I see a Princess Leia “partner scene” playing out on the bridge of the ship there. 😂😂😂

Pretty cool build bud. Great to see you living your life ,learning new skills and having fun doing it. That dome would make a sweet little wood working shop. Probably easy to heat over the winter too.

Nice to know that you farm if you need advice on horse drawn farm implements I'm here since I'm trying to make a name for myself by helping others with horse drawn farm equipment until I find the means to start re-manufacturing horse equipment
