The no dig fence you guys installed in Wyoming is absolute proof the system works. Anyone who’s been there knows just how brutal the wind is. Great video guys 👍

Depends if wind is orderly or not. I live on the praries and it’s very windy all the time but the wind is disorderly most of the time as well so wind turbines don’t work well and are usually shut down.

Hands on training is far superior to any other type of training! Y'all are great! Keep the videos coming!
I put a fence in like that last year but had to use a slam-hammer to drive the posts in. I like the auto hammer you have much better than doing it by hand!
What a nice guy! He is professional and has a good sense of humor. He is just the kind of person I would have liked to work with when I was younger. I am 74 years old, retired, and a Nam Vet 68/69. A big thank you for this information because next week, I will be replacing my 25-year-old fence. Thank you, sir.

Great tip about getting the top donut to line up with the fence. Wisdom!

There are quite a few places this system would work around the greater New Orleans area. This would be an excellent system to use down in the Marigny/Bywater area. You have these 20 foot wide houses on 25 foot wide lots. That leaves a 30" walkway up each side. The window sills are at about 5,' and every window has a window air conditioner sticking out of it. I know a sub that had to carry everything through a customer's house, including concrete. I'd like to add that many of the fences between the houses are 4', 9 ga. twist up. Before I say it won't work here...in North Kenner, La., I dug a 30" deep hole, set a 2-1/2" .065 in before the concrete, the post promptly sank all the way. That's a pretty nice system.
Great work guys I,m impress with your system I,m a Red Seal carpenter from Kelowna BC Canada
I have to say you and your crew are very good and professional, I wish you were in NY, hard to find good quality anyone… I also would like to get some of your leftovers, being a gardener, I think you could make use of some of them for planting, by using them for slightly raised beds, by plastic welding them together. It would be possible for squares and long rectangular boxes. Even have an idea for vertical gardening with some, like the ones sometimes done with PVC. Just a thought, so you would not have to put them in the landfill and still be able to get some money and use out of them. Really enjoy your content and keep up the great work.. Rob

P-R-O-S!! Never thought I'd end my day watching a fence build. But this was the best YT video I've seen in quite some time. Great that you are passing on your skills and knowledge to the next generation. If you were in Illinois, I'd hire you to put up a fence just like that.
I wish we had something like this in the UK, it’s really well thought out and so easy to maintain too!
Of course, moving to Cody in May and going back to work overseas the day before your GSD training. Dang it!
I'm glad that you mentioned the grade of the fence. The company's default installation was 2" above the highest grade, level from that point, unless specified otherwise. Salesmen? Details? You could probably imagine the malicious compliance opportunities. Of course I carried an instrument in the truck, although being a pro that is where it generally stayed.
Great banter makes everything even better! You guys are an awesome crew! ❤

👆🏻 See everyone? The rest of the world doesn't think this is strange.
Good stuff, Lad builders! Product is interesting. Here in California, vinyl has been used for quite some time. The rap on vinyl is that due to changing temps, it becomes brittle and breaks. What is your response to that concern? Years, warranty, etc. Lastly, what is cost per foot? Thanks.
Looks good & makes sense. As for the waste, have you contacted the manufacturer to see if they'll accept your waste to be recycled?
Awesome video and process. The only thing that sucks for me as a guy who has to repair storm lines occasionally in a back or side yard, these fences, whichever method used are a nightmare for us to take apart and put back together. Lol!
Those off cuts from the post could make for great matching garden bed fencing to match the new fence this way you could save them from landfill. Because they are not biodegradable this means the new garden bed fencing won’t rot like wood will. If the owners don’t want them, then put out an ad on your website the same option of a no dig garden bed fencing, the only difference is you can’t use that fancy post hammer as the handle is too long 😹😹 but you can use a sledge hammer and a post holder handle to knock the post in. Just food for thought, the idea popped into my head when I saw how much you were cutting off the post and the slotted sidings the whole lot could make neat garden beds and saves all them off cuts from landfill. I know I would use them, if I lived in the States. I will have to see if this system is in Australia. It sure look nicer than the colour bond fencing my neighbours put up around me on all 4 sides I’m now fenced in with different coloured fencing in each direction. If that system came in a wood grain look I would have loved that to all that metal around me. Hope you like my idea for your off cuts, I’m sure that there would be plenty of people out there who just might like that idea.
whats the uv rating on this stuff ...we had the generic white fence here and it crumbled into pieces from the suns rays...

Yes, I was thinking it sits on top of ground, somehow being anchord with cement for weight to keep from blowing away ! I'm not up on the Post driver ! I've seen Giant ones drive I-beams to bedrock !
You could use cut offs to make mechanical concrete If you have problem roads this would be useful Cut them into squares and put them in soft spot and then fill with gravel

Very nice system. Do you ever get frost in the ground around there? I haven't found anything that can resist frost heaving the posts, but maybe the small diameter of the galvanized posts would help.

This looks like a great no dig fence if you have some solid ground/dirt, here in Florida where the soil is sandy I think you'll need some aggregate/cement to anchor the post against hurricane wind and saturating rainfall. Still It's an awesome install, best I've ever seen. The top rail ties are terrific, here in Florida they just drop 1.5 " screw at an angle and pray the hurricane don't rip it apart doesn't work.

Should check out our airboat test that was done in Florida. Additionally, we have another branch in Florida that uses this method every day.
I am continually impressed with the no dig method. Minus five points for Dan for not beginning his post marks around the utilities and plus five points for the Minions, because they worked with Dan all day. And the winner is Mark. Lol, great job, of course, thanks again team.
Post scrap might be recyclable. Just a thought. Love the video.
I am looking to run some fencing around our yard, with part of it going into our woods. This way our dogs can do some exploring in the woods. How well do driven posts work where there is brush and possibly some roots?
@SWiFence
23 күн бұрын
Works fine as long as you have a good enough driver. We deal with vegetation and roots all day every day in our Florida operation.
Love this idea, but what if you are in an area that have rocks of other hidden stuff under the ground. I had an old sidewalk that was just buried over with 12 " in dirt. Needless to say, that really slowed me down digging the posts LOL!

What diameter a thickness are the post? Are they galvanized steel?
Uhh... y'all drove a 2" screw through the post, through the donut, into the post. When I did my fence, I secured the donut to the post, but only used a 1" stainless screw to secure the post to the donut. Is that a bad thing? Not sending a screw all the way through to the post? Thanks. You guys are the best.

Well, I mean... It's just not as strong. You're probably fine. 👍🏻
If you use pvc glue and glue the gate you can get away with horizontal braces Or hollow sections out and put aluminum diagonals inside
What do y'all charge for installation? Total cost for supplies and labor?
Could have used those post drivers a decade ago! Very Cool
Fantastic work. What's the pricing compared to a regularly installed vinyl fence?
@SWiFence
19 күн бұрын
It tends to wash out more even than you would think. What you save in labor and concrete you spend in steel.
I would love to have you install a fence like that for me here in IL. But how much is the cost? Dealing with that here in C IL. They want 10K for 170' of cheap vinyl fencing w/2 gates, if they can even get the vinyl. 8K for treated fence. 2 Neighbors said they were wanting to add a fence and I told them good luck and hold onto your wallet. They came back and said they did not need a fence that badly....... I appreciate good workmanship, but I guess I can't afford it anymore, and after a back injury, I'm not able to do it myself anymore. Sons are busy with work and family, but they did help me repair my cedar fence. The local cable locating person after locating my utilities said I should not work in my back area since a main fiberoptic cable junctions there. I said I am not digging, they looked puzzled. I rigged up my own hydro/vac soil removal system and it worked like a charm down to 44/46" for the 20 year old 16 gal Craftsman wet vac with 1 1/4 hose/extensions. I like to go 48" but 44 was good for 6' middle support posts. The electric pressure washer with extensions worked fantastic. But you have to have a place to make a slurry pile until it dries out......
Hi i've been enjoying this video more than all my years of retirement .Why ? cos everybody has a smarter and better opinion than the "thruth" of things.My question is What are the tempereture limits or duration (years)of a vinyl fence in northern Europe.
@SWiFence
18 күн бұрын
Ooh, great question. I'm afraid I won't really be able to answer that. The quality of vinyl we purchase performs well in Wyoming, and it's not uncommon for us to dip below -17 °C even as low as -30 °C on occasion. But we don't hang out there for weeks on end like I imagine you all do in northern Europe. 🥶
That looked really nice.
