SOLO Build Challenge - DIY Dome Drama: Bubble-wrap Bungles & Curtain Craziness! 20' Geodesic Dome
Welcome back to my Geodesic Dome project, where innovation meets rugged elegance. In this latest episode, I'm diving into the interior installation, transforming the dome into a stylish sanctuary. I have built everything to this point on my own.. and I am going to finish strong.
With no instructions- I had to tackle the challenge of installing the inner reflective bubble wrap insulation and durable oxford cloth lining. From taping joints with precision to ensure stormproof insulation, to adding a touch of texture and sophistication with the Oxford PVC material, every step is a testament to craftsmanship and ingenuity.
At the heart of the design is the majestic skylight, flooding the space with natural light and offering a mesmerizing view of the expansive sky above. Surrounded by rugged insulation and sleek cloth lining, the skylight becomes a focal point of the room, blending function with rugged charm.
To complete the transformation, I've installed a robust curtain rod assembly and hung luxurious curtains that exude sophistication and style. These curtains not only provide privacy and light control but also frame the panoramic view of the lush blueberry bushes outside, creating a captivating contrast between rugged nature and refined comfort.

Yes, I attached the longer bent hangers, with a nut only, but left it "loose" until I had all the two long ones on the outside and smaller in the middle. I only added final tightness after I had the curtain rail, in place.
😎 Can the clear window behind the curtain unzip and open up to let fresh air in? Wasn't sure if you said so or not. Nice building 👍

it sure can !! The entire window can be opened.. also, i still have 2 windows to install that open :)
