⭕You can follow following steps to create the Sheet Metal Elbow using SolidWorks.⭕
Open new part First you should creating the solid Elbow and then you have to convert it in to sheet metal then you have to separate in to part and then you can generate the 2D drawing for each and every part.to create the Solid elbow go to front plan sketchDraw the circle and make it for construction. Then select the center line and sketch like this and give the dimensions 1000mm here also 1000mmThen trim this line use power trim.We are going to model the elbow which having four parts, so draw the four linesSelect these two lines and make them equal Select these two lines also make them equalMake this dimension as 300mmMake all four lines tangent to this circular arc.Now click exit sketchThen select the top plane Draw the circle taking this point as center pointGive dimension 600mm and exit sketchHere we have now created the path and the profile. Then we are going to sweeps this circular profile along this path.Click swept boss base command and select the profile and the pathThen click on shell command and make shell thickness as 3mmTo convert this in to sheet metal we need small thin cut to open this pipe So, to make thin cut select front plane and make sketchDraw a circle taking the center point as coordinate center and take its radius beyond the inner surface of the elbow. Then got features extruded cutAnd in here select the Mid plane cut and insert 2mm thickness. Here you can see 2mm cut has generated with opening the elbowThen we are going to split this part in to four parts. We are going to split the part through these jointsFirst, we are going to introduce plane through theses jointsGo to insert reference geometry plane, and select this edgeThen we are going to split this body through these planeThen go to direct editing and click on split This command allows you to split a body to parts through surfaces or planesClick on cut partsClick ok Here you can see under solid bodies there are four bodies, part has split in to four parts four bodiesThen we are going to open these four parts separately and converted in to sheet metal Right Click on first part and go insert in to new part.Click ok it ask to save the part select the folder and give name for part here I am giving the name part 3Then we are going to convert in to sheet metal, click on insert bendAnd select this edge and keep other parameters as it is Click okNow it has converted in to sheet metalClick on this flatten. Here you can see the development of Sheetmetal needed to manufacture this partWe can generate the 2d drawing from this part Go to file make drawing from parts
