A very good hands on video on Solidity. Thanks Gregory for this video. I had many of my doubts cleared out through this.
Gave me a big jump in programing smart contracts. Videos are great, if i have a issue understanding manipulating values in some cases i just do some deep reading to move to another level. Thanks to your video's i been writing and testing writing and testing adding my own logic to your logic and getting into some deep contracts.. I wish i could afford the boot-camp hopefully some day soon. I might even make it off of my first job i am going to bid on. Wow. I like struct coming from Java and C#. It's like a whole class, but you can use it anywhere!
Great video. All the different sections built on each other nicely, meaning you didn't need to watch the whole thing in one sitting. At one point early in the video, you said you had videos that explained the parameters in the Remix transaction log. I searched through your channel but couldn't tell which videos were likely to cover this. Could possibly point me to a suitable video? I've read that the blockchain chains the blocks together by using the index of the last block in the payload of the curreny block. Can this be seen in the Remix Transaction logs? Thanks.
Thanks a lot for this, great way to get started!

For me, one of the big problems when trying to learn a new language is knowing which of the variables used are keywords or are they variables, modifier, is that a keyword, is owner a keyword, address owner; is owner a keyword or was that chosen as a variable etc. I often think there should be very clear way of making it known that a keyword is being used so that I can differentiate and know that something is a variable and not some keyword that has other properties I might need to know about. Great video by the way, I'm planning on writing my first solidity contract after this ..

@@anfechtung-143bgb4 AFAIK, it is generally used in modifiers. So if you have a modifier that, say, checks that the caller is the owner of the contract and then the next line is this "_", then that translates into: 1. check that the caller of the function (that has this modifier) is owner; 2. take whatever code of the called function and paste it into where "_" is. So "_" means take the code from the function that is "decorated" with this modifier and put it into where "_" is

you know how an alternator charges a battery? exactly my point. how these different softwares interact with each-other, and what their fundamental use case's are, and how they can and cant be used to accomplish a partiuclar goal like charging the battery with the alternator, which starts the engine, and moves the car. rather than teaching all around the board only, which is good; try to make a video that describes all of the basic functionality of programing languages, terminals, coding editors, and more. and how they work together from scratch to accomplish particular goals in different regions of coding,m like in layers of a cake, but actions and reactions to eachother, and how they interact with one another.

Thankyou brother
I watched this same intro on your other video and it would be helpful if you made useful analogies... You are explaining the code using internal language, but since you are the only one explaining Solidity on KZread it might be useful to explain more of the real world use case of each function... For instance, when you say "Anyone will be able to set this value on the Blockchain"... I have no idea what that means... Anyone will be able to change the code, or input some kind of number??? I'm going to continue to watch for further explanation, but this is the same intro as your 13 minute video I'm wondering if the real world explanation could be explained while explaining the internal mechanisms of what each line of code means to the Blockchain and as well to the goals of the individual developer...

that means if you have an account for this deployed blockchain, then you can see the values of public variables (with a public getter function or just set the variable as public) and set values with public setter functions, and if it is internal it is not exposed on the public interface (what you see on the right hand side where you have the public variable and function buttons. If you want some functions that you don't want a user to use, e.g., a function that displays a string with all firstnames of users separated by commas, then you can make an internal helper function. Maybe you want to have a few public functions that need to use a string of all firstnames, so instead of typing the code to get this each time, you can just call your internal helper function. But the user won't be able to directly call this function; it is only callable within the code. public = callable from outside of code (accessible to users) internal = only callable from inside of code (not accessible to users)

no one is able to change the code, only you as the coder who created the code can change the code, but with public setters, user accounts on this blockchain will be able to change values of variables stored on the blockchain.

Exaclty. What does he mean by everyone on the blockchain would be able to see a variable on the blockchain?
Looks a lot like JavaScript. I also have a lot of C++ and Python. My start up is very interested in using bitcoin ethereum. Thanks for the video. What development tools do you recommend?
Theres alot of stuff out there that throws you to the wolves when it comes to learning solidity - and this isn't one of them. You're an amazing teacher dude. Type of guy I want on my friends list when I need something explained on a human level lol
Very interesting video. Thank you!
What program languages do you need to know?

you need to know Solidity for smart contract. for your contract testing you can use c++,python but almost all the develop prefer javascript

Solidity which is like javascript with some C+ characteristics. And if you plan to implement solidity in your applications, truffle framework and web3 library is also something you need to learn

If you don't realize what languages you need to know, you're not ready for this at all. I'd advise programming for a while longer. It's not that solidity is hard to write, it's just a language. However the rest of the technology will probably be way above your head, especially the specifications.
a honest feedback : i m new to slodity but an it trainer: the content here is not for beginners and needs to be structured , here we see you coding but dont know Why you doing what you are doing . i would advise first to define the 5 Ws rules . Who needs to know smart contracts coding - - What is a smart contract - its structure- an example - Why a need for smart contract on blockchain How do we make smart contracts with a particular goals - Summary ... i hope those suggestion will make your tutorial better and more useful . thanks for the effort . you are good coder , now you need to become a good teacher . Use the feydman method . try to explain the most complex things to an idiot . this will help to make your course better. thanks

Great stuff, thank you
thanks for the quick crash course!
Love this! cause, you are actually pointing people in the right direction. I will advise traders especially newbies to have orientation of trading before they get involved in it because the market has been unstable, forget predictions and start making a good profit now because future valuation are all speculation and guesses.
