Soldiers - BBC Points West - 25th April 2024

On the anniversary of the end of the famous Battle of Imjin River during the Korean War in 1951 its been revealed that two unknown soldiers in a military grave in South Korea have been identified as members of the Gloucestershire Regiment. They were killed during the battle. A researcher at the Joint Casualty and Compassionate centre at Imjin Barracks in Gloucester spent six years working on the project and in November the families of the soldiers will be at a special rededication ceremony at the UN military cemetery in Busan.
