Ciao Steve. It's not a long nose but it's a pretty truck and WOW (Cummins, auto trans, smart wheel) what a price deal! The truck is spec'd perfect. I bet it's really fuel efficient. I was super surprised when you said it came with a Cummins. I expected a PACCAR 13 liter at that price.

So this is under $148/k out the door and one ton dually Ford, Dodge, and Chevy pick ups can go for $90/k? Makes this 579 look like the best deal to tow that 5th wheel camper. TMC sets up their company trucks just like this. They sell them after 4-5 years with 600,000 miles for $58/k. Peterbilt Steve has the deals that is for sure. Nice ride for the money.

@@bellboy4074 Tow your camper all over America and put 20,000 or 30,000 miles on the truck. After 5-6 years or longer, sell the truck for $120,000.00 or even $110,000.00 and your money ahead. Buy a pick up for $90/k, put 30,000 miles on it in 5-6 years or longer and sell it for $35,000.00 if your lucky. Just a thought.

Nice looking 579. Nice to finally see a 579 with the extra gauges instead of the navigation. One question. Are the driver’s side stacks on the 579 functional or nonfunctional? I know on the Kenworth T880’s and T680’s the driver’s side stack is nonfunctional.

3.25 the final drive ratio is very similar to a 13 speed or 18 speed

Quite a nice rig! Non-performance package with automatic...I would really like to check that one out. I’ve never driven an automatic rig. My oldest brother had one in a Pete 362 and loved it! 🥰 I like the double bunk! He wishes he still had that truck!

Porter Productions yes you’ll have a extra 4 batteries for the EPU I really like mine very low maintenance. No way I would have another truck without one. You just can’t afford to idle these newer trucks with emissions System

Peterbilt Steve please tell us what they are hauling. So we can go there. I know rates for frack sand, oil , propane, reefer, dry van and flat bed are all in the toilet to the point you will be stacked up with repos in the next two months.

@tater tot Blame right its nothing but junk. They stay in the shop more than on the road. An old A model or 359 will make more money at lot less cost and no breakdowns. This crap they building is a complete joke.. Computers have no place on trucks .. Rebuild the old trucks or just quit..

Roger1 333 🇺🇸At the 3:25 ratio, the automatic wouldn’t be bad. My oldest brother had an auto in a Pete 352 and loved it! He drove from Ohio to Colorado, Arizona, Texas and back several times. He regrets selling that truck to this day.

@@the.porter.productions yes sir. I had serious problems with a 2016 Cascadia with a dt 12 autoshift in a company truck that would kick out of gear constantly. I'm not talking down on autoshifts, just my experience wasn't great

Discounting that truck means a trade in will also be expected to be discounted on your end . This is how the industry works. New trucks lose values ? Don’t worry, your used truck will plummet. New manufacturers offering interest rebates to buy a new truck? Used trucks will fall like a truck coming out the back of a 747...

I'm glad you know it all, thank you for the lesson. My simple minded reasoning behind the discount is A: I have too many 579's. B: We are the nations #1 location for 389's so we probably need to stick to our core audience. C: Maybe I can get someone out of a rig they really dont like and sell it to a first time buyer that will love it. Peterbilt never offer incentives so your statement in that area was incorrect. PACCAR financial will occasionally offer something like the 90 days no payments they have now, but never a rate better 5.5 which is unicorn rare. If this virus bankrupts companies and owner operators, bet your behind round hood used truck values will crash. That is how supply and demand works, just like freight.

Bad ass the only model I would buy if I couldn't get a 389

I still hope to see the day drivers shut it down for a few weeks to improve the business and make people respect the drivers. As far as the ugly truck with the good price I'd throw on one of them glorified graphics packages to show it off.
