Hey Steve, could you tell us how many options there are for the wheels (dura-bright, mirror-polish etc) and the pros/cons of each or why we might want one over another? As always, keep up the great work!!!
That wood grain replacement door dash inserts are just so wonderful!
Just can’t get over that giant Volvo windshield
J&L Contracting out of Springfield MO has multiple trucks of that exact setup they use for equipment transport services and their Construction Excavation Services, been using them for years now and they have been extremely successful with those trucks.
I don't want to watch anymore 389 videos since I'll be mad at myself for not being able to afford one brand new and will have to settle for either a highly worn high mileage 389 or some 389 specced in a weird way and with an increased price
CAN YOU GET ME A SIMILAR TRUCK FOR NOT MORE THAN $150,000. 😮😮😮
This is one of the best looking trucks on KZread!! Fantastic
I don’t really like seeing this kind of equipment
That would be so handy.
For sure
Love this build, Steve - you've got me thinking...
Thanks Wade
Very very nice Steve and thanks for the description and all the features on that truck
Than yoou
Our local Caterpillar dealer uses those type bodies, very impressive...
Our first but love it
I wish i was still in the towing business.... definitely an awesome piece of equipment
Im impressed
💪👍🙂
thanks
That thing can repo some big trucks
That equipment hauler is really cool
Now that would be a slick race car transporter
Good Looking rig. There was talk that Pete was going to drop painted frames. I assume that is not the case,
Still an option
How about a custom windshield, doors, analogue gauges, old dash, different headlights, chopped ceiling without funking up the chassis, etc
Ohhh you mean an entirely different truck lol
It’s perfect 🤩
One of my all time favorites
Where did you get the strobe lights for the front grill
Semi Casual
How much is the price
Something like sells for around $350k depending on options and warranties
Great built steve 👌👌
Thank you buddy
@@SteveCarbone you always come thru. Too bad you don’t built Kenworth W900L
Price on this unit?
8:55 Don't drink too much damn milk and you will fit fine in any vehicle like a normal size person. Anyone over 5'6-5'8 suffers from giantism disorder...
allrighty then
Thank you
@@SteveCarbone alrighty 10 fow 10 fow
That color is awesome
Thank you
You should tell us the price tag at delivery so when people watch this they know what’s at stake when cutting trucks off and brake checking them.
Those people dont watch this channel....
@@SteveCarbone lmao 🤣 probably not!!
The new trucks are growing on me
Good!
Get rid of the sissy doors.
Very very nice love the color
I appreciate that
That one would have to be named “Butterbean.” Good looking truck!
Ok
First order of business, delete it and install a PDI compound turbo kit and reprogram that ECM. Better fuel economy, less emissions than a tier 4 engine and less wear and tear on the engine core.
I'm a big fan of anythng from PDI but these guys have to be able to get into any dealership if work is needed
Why doesn’t Peterbilt offer wider hood fenders instead of that plastic lip for trucks with 385 or 425 steers?
I assume the lips are just more cost effective
Just a Red oval Volvo
Whatever Mr. Clever....
Can a person get that two speed aux trans behind the an Allison trans , we’ve got on our last one 565 ,the big Allison on 52s wondering about that aux trans ?
Do operators ever order tridem drives or just lift axles wondered if the extra traction would make a difference
Some do
Is there a reason why this truck has a pusher axle with dual tires instead of steerable pusher axle with 425 super singles?? Wouldn't that be lighter?? Is there a dramatic price difference??
Application and location is everything
New truck
yes
That doesn’t look like a 389?
It's a 589
nope
I understand that it wont be answered, but im truly curious what the price tag on this would be to buy? $275,000?
@@justanotherotrguy 300+
@SteveCarbone yea i kinda figured with it being heavy haul especially. Are these usually bought and paid for or do folks finance these?
One of the new guys asked, what does it weigh? I said does it matter?we have to haul it???
lol
Drive line saver is a old hand who knows what he’s doing!!!
Yes, just doing all we can to reduce down time
Ugly color. Anything except military green
"One each OD in color "
Don't worry about it little boy ur not the one driving it
The military never looked this good.......
This rig looks awesome. I love it.
Thank you buddy
Two items ,,, That Color is Chevron Green all day, Chevron adopted that color way back in order to blend with the environment. They called it Sage Green and I'm sure it comes in various shades.. Amazing ! Also, those wheels by Alcoa,, Made Mexico ? Cheese, anything made in the USA anymore ? Love these Trucks !
Love the enthusiasm, over 5000 greens available and this is not Chevron or Sage
@@SteveCarbone Yeah whatever, I used to Contract field work for Chevron and that's one of their chosen Butt Ugly Colors. LOL 😆
@@SteveCarbone Yeah I used to contract with Chevron installing facilities on well sites. This is Chevron Sage Green.
The color looks like that I believe they call boxwood green. It looks like the same green that came on my 69 Ford bronco.
I love that ford color
We had a refrigerator that color in the 70s. 🤢😂
same
389 you say? Lol
I caught that too, old habits lol
yeah I said it lol
Love the color❤
Meeee toooooo
I don't know man. There's something about that low vis green that's just sexy Steve!. She's gorgeous and speced really well. Great job man
I appreciate that James
Too much green.
Don't worry about it
To each his own
@@SteveCarbone he couldn't afford the lug nuts on it
