    Personally I will have a 2.5 acre property soon and over 1 acre of it is a grassy open lawn . I could fill that area with tons of $50 (400 Watt) panels and run them directly to space heaters or convert to AC in summer. Batteries seem like they are most expensive part at this point, but I would love to have the storage too in the future

    The only stupid setup on this video is “don’t use portable AC”. The portable AC takes double the energy versus window unit AC, and also 30% less efficient than window unit! A 8000BTU window AC only burn 500watt / hourly , so if you wanna connect to a solar generator , just get a window AC unit, and setup at least 800watt -1000watt solar panel , In this case you can same time charging solar generator and also supporting AC unit burning the power.

    @@ToolsElectroDIYi don't know all the details but one fact that makes it by definition much more inefficient is this: an AC is a heat pump, which moves heat from one side to another. A wall unit (or mini split, etc) blows room air across the cold side and the coils absorb some of the heat and that room air is put back in the room. And those coils have the now-warmer refigerant that goes through the compressor to move to the outside portion. Then outside air is blown across the hot side coils and is emitted back outside. The really hot refrigerant is then less hot and is decompressed to go back inside. Nice! The portable AC you have there uses the same principle but... Instead of always cooling the inside air making it colder and colder, it takes cool inside air and puts some of it through the cooler BUT it pushes most of that air across the hot coils and outside, which means that your room is getting a continuous stream of outside air coming in under doors, cracks, etc. Even if you don't notice it really, it becomes clear when you stand outside by the hot vent. It's pushing lots of air outside your room. That means the air in the room is replaced somehow... And it's replaced by warm outside air. Inefficient.

    @@ToolsElectroDIY You should get inverter type A/C window or split because on average it uses about 500W. Once it cools down the room, it shuts the compressor and only turns on when it is needed saving you Watts

  • @rclewis01

    @rclewis01

    Ай бұрын

    @@youare138 all that is true, but you could have another hole near the exhaust port and outside air would come in and go straight to the air conditioner and then back out. This equalizes the house pressure so the rest of the house isn't heating up, and the only warm air coming in will go right back out again and never go anywhere else in the room to heat things up. You can also insulate the exhaust tube, because that is a big heat surface.

    The charging station is good, its quality based and it is designed for max of 5 years, depending on usage, yet, the charging station has to be discarded as well, after exhaustion of its shelf life, since it is built in, the battery is built in, it should be serviceable, yet based on reviews, it is not serviceable, since the battery is built in. Investments for energy security should have the serviceable features needed for being environment friendly, and that it can last for a lifetime based on the cycle of recharge and discharge. The basic batteries can also be configured and recharged and discharged and cleaned for its maximum energy friendly/eco-friendly features.

    Lithium and lithium iron phosphate batteries are usually good for 3,000-5,000 cycles. The thing is, after that its not that they just die or stop working, theyre usually still good for 75-80% of their original capacity. I have tried this with my delta pro max. The pro lasted 1hr cause the AC was using 1.8k to 2k watts. I bought a wave and ran that with the pro hooked up to a 400 watts EcoFlow panel. I was getting 300w to 350w input. If you had a full 100% delta pro hooked up 400 watt panel, hook the pro up to the wave. You can run it all day as long as you have sun. The wave only uses roughly 400w. Edit: you will need the EcoFlow Extra Battery cable XT150 to connect your delta or battery with the wave The wave uses DC power, also can use AC power but I recommend using The extra charger cable to run DC power. That way your battery will last longer

With most gas generators you will have no issues at all handling this load. At night that solar generator is useless and will die out real quick with an ac running.

    I've confirmed that it runs at max 1800 watts. If you run maxed out at 1800 watts you'll get one hour of use. The 2 solar panels will will recharge it in 3 hours. Only 1 solar panel will recharge it in 6 hours. If you only use half of the 1800 watts, 900 watts, you'll get 2 hours of use. Remember this is CONSTANT USE. those extra batteries that aren't that heavy, extend out your hours. Pretty much 1 battery per hour. 900 watts constant use with an extra battery will get u 4 hours of constant use. For camping, this is good to recharge things / items with an already built in battery. Phones, Fans, / LED Lamps / Lights, Laptops, even a small portable camping fridge (yes they make them), when that battery gets low, use this bank to recharge it. Yes you can use power tools with a cord CONSTANTLY, or use the battery power tools / aka cordless, like DEWALT etc. to me that's the BEST USE of the system. For power outages, this could be used to power the modem and router so your phones have Internet while you're down, if u don't have a phone bill, or maybe bad signal during outage, maybe u need to use a small electric burner if u don't have the camping stove or grill of any kind. If your fridge as been unplugged for over 5 hours, u can use this to get ur fridge back to temperature then unplug and ur good for ANOTHER 5 hours. Using this to power a small tiny space heater to stay warm probably isn't the best. It'll run an hour and then drain. This is for use during a power outage at home for a little while, to keep small things up and running, or for camping. If you're wanting to run your central AC / Heater and lights/ home wifi / TV / Fridge / on a CONSTANT basis during a power outage, you'd need a generator and one with atleast 10,000 watts. Outside you gotta keep it. Plus buying gasoline/ kerosene/ diesel.

However, if you are very efficient and use great insulation you can just use a small portable AC (cool breeze 2, bouge rv, or Ecoflow one) they only pull 100 to 200 W per hour instead of the thousand watts that his huge air conditioner is using. In theory you would only need like 500 W maybe 700 W to be safe instead of 4000 W running that huge air conditioner.

It is much more efficient and only needs as little as 3 370 watt panels. Deye makes a solar mini split and so does Hotspot Energy although the latter is much more expensive. These mini splits have an inverter built in. I say your setup is terrible no to insult your ingenuity but because it is so expensive and the ac unit is so inefficient. @@ToolsElectroDIY
