    I think that maybe a lot of people miss a trick with the evertune with regard to being frustrated on changing tunings. one rule - set it up so that the system stabilises to the LOWEST note you will use on each string. Then tune up to higher tunings using the normal tuning pegs. In this way the evertune is the best fixed bridge because tuning up is the same as with any fixed bridge and tuning down is way easy because you just lower each note onto it's stabilisers with no need for a tuner. A simple example of this is when you only go between standard and drop D - stabilise the 6th string to D with the fine tuner and use the normal peg to come up to E. Dropping into D is a cinch - you just over de-tune with the normal peg and you are there with no messing. If you extend the concept to all the strings then the bridge works the same as any fixed bridge - ok you don't get the stability when you are not in your lowest tuning but that is no different than a hipshot. And of course you can do nothing with a floating trem so those are irrelevant to this discussion (barring the Dtuna trick). If you don't change tunings often then you will enjoy the true purpose of the system - guitar always in tune. If you want to mess with tunings often you can make it work but you compromise some of the original idea. your choice there! The evertune is awesome.

    Ever since getting my Solar A1 27inch baritone w/ the Evertune in January, I've been a HUGE fan of the Evertune bridge. Tuned it down to drop G# and it stays perfectly in tune no matter how hard you press the strings or if you're finger bends the string slightly when playing chords. The fact that you can still bend after you reach that zone threshold is awesome too. No accidental sharp notes. It has made it hard to justify purchasing another guitar WITHOUT an Evertune especially after growing accustomed to the ease of recording in the studio. Out of the 5 guitars I own ranging from Ibanez, Jackson, Schecter, Eart and Solar. This is definitely my go to. Now I want another one with a 25.5 inch scale length for higher tunings. :)

    Lol “higher tuning.” I love how in metal, drop D, D standard, drop C and C and B standard are just totally normal, standard tunings and E standard is kind of unnaturally high LOL.

    Evertune's are 100% worth it... but yes they can be a pain to change tunings... which is why its good to have multiple guitars with Evertune's... I have 6 guitars equipped with it, so I have each set to a different tuning... Note 3 are Solar guitars. Have been using Solar's for a year and will continues using... The necks feel great IMO but its also just preference. great review.

    I totally agree with most your points. It's a great sounding and looking guitar. I love the Evertune for anything lower than D standard. Funnily enough I have a Mayones as well and it needs constant retuning. I agree that the neck profile is rather on the chunky side and the guitar is rather on the heavy side. According to Solar they all weigh about the same. A faster neck profile would be the way to go I feel. Nothing like a Wizard, that's overboard. But closer to a Mayones would be great.

    Just ran across this. EverTune is great but I have a guitar for every tuning. I don't have to worry about changing tunic on a single guitar. Plus some guitars are better suited to standard tuning and others are better for drop and others. You just have to be ok with having to drag a lot of guitars around the world.

  • @KaddysJamKave
    @KaddysJamKave2 жыл бұрын

    Fair review man... and damn I laughed at 9:33 LOL. I just never understand the argument about a "shredders" neck... everybody has their preferences, sure... but you don't need a super thin neck to shred like MAD. Dimebag's guitars are CRAZY thick and chunky with their V neck's and yet.... one of the greatest shredders of ALL time. I'm not sure if I could call myself a shredder... but I certainly don't get along with super thin necks like on Esp guitars.

    Hi Abel. Awesome content! Considering upgrading my S1.7PB with BKP's. The main reason probably is that the Solar Duncan's feel kinda "slow" if that's the right word. I have the exact same guitar and all your cons are pros for me: I like the evertune bridge (because I only use this guitar for one thing), I like the neck because I am a riffer more than a shredder, and I also like the dots on the fretboard (because I actually sometimes look at them from the front while I am playing but I guess some people never do). To each his own but for what I was looking for this guitar is the perfect fit for me.

    Totally stuck in an internal debate with my future Solar purchase....."To Evertune Or Not To Evertune".... I have never played an evertune, nor have I found the opportunity to demo one. I really like the idea of the rock solid tuning stability and the supposed more consistent intonation across the fretboard....But the biggest thing I worry about is the feel. I realize that most people who have gripes about this bridge probably did not set it up correctly (hopefully) but have heard from a number of people that their biggest problem with the evertune is the slight "dead zone" when doing bends/vibrato when on the edge of zone 2 and 3. I don't play live anymore, so the added weight isn't an issue. I could just go for it and it would probably be great...maybe the slight loss of responsiveness wont even be noticeable... Or (totally defeating the purpose of the evertune) could you just tune the guitar flat at the bridge and play strictly in zone 3 for essentially a standard fixed bridge? Thanks Abel.

  • @CallMe_DrWorm

    @CallMe_DrWorm

    3 жыл бұрын

    You absolutely can set it without any of the compensation, that'll give you the feel of a normal bridge with no dead zone. It's possible to set it on the very edge for an almost unnoticeable dead zone, and I believe many players opt for exactly that. You adjust to that, I've found that it's easy to do so. Everyone, please add to this as you see fit.

    Get it set up correctly and you will love it. I have 2. I have 30 guitars. Steinbergers, PRS, a Nightswan, a few Jacksons, its its own animal. Tuning stability makes it worth the minimal tone suck. Don't buy it if its your only guitar unless you are a 1 tuning guy.

    the evertune is not too complex for you I promise. it's great. 30 mins and you will understand it 100% and never want a different fixed bridge. If you go between D standard and Eb or E standard a lot then set up the evertune to D standard. it will always be perfectly in tune to D when you want to go there. When you want to tune to Eb or E just use your normal tuning pegs and your tuner or your ear! Going back to D is a piece of p1SS. Seriously it's a no brainer. The creator of this video has missed this trick.

    About the neck shape you said you don't like... How do you compare to other brands? Is It like a ESP/LTD neck? Schecter neck? Fender neck?

    It’s a very “in between neck” not to small and not to big. I prefer the neck on my Mayones, unfortunately I cant really speak to an esp Ltd neck as I haven’t played one in a long time. Schecter necks are great as long as they don’t have a gloss finish in the back.

    Has anyone experience with Solar guitars? I love the look of the S Series but i'd prefer a faster neck. I'm use to an ibanez prestige... or does anybody has experience with other guitars with fast necks? Appreciate the support!

    Agreed on the Evertune bridge. I have two guitars with Evertunes, and while I wouldn't necessarily trade them, I won't be buying any more guitars with an Evertune. Wayyyy too much of a pain in the ass... and even when you're on "the edge" between zone 2 and 3, you still lose some bending response.

    @@AbelHernandezguitar Thanks for the help, the Adler’s are my priority at the moment, I’ve been researching, and the Adler’s always shows up as a good option, and it has a very similar sound to the moderns voice 1, in its voice 2.. Once again, thanks dude.. By the way, great job with STL tones, looking forward to the new preset pack for Tonehub.. So far, been loving Mark Lewis and Josh Middleton packs, next one is John Feldmann for the more pop punk tones.. Cheers from Brazil! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

    I've always wanted an evertune loaded guitar but the tuning thing has always been the one thing holding me back from buying one. Fuck I hate changing tunings on a floyd loaded guitar, if it's worse than that then I'd probably hate it lol. I mean I still do kinda want one. I play in Drop C for the vast majority of my playing unless I'm experimenting with open tunings, so to have that one evertune guitar that stays in Drop C and is strictly used as a recording guitar... probably worth it. As of right now, I'm a hipshot bridge fanboy thru and thru.

    Hey Abel! How’s it going?!? I see that you got your hands on a MK3, now! With that in mind, I’ve been researching for a fishman pickup and I’ve got to the conclusion that I really want that single coil voice in the pickups.. I owe a Jackson Monarkh, which is the most confortable guitar I’ve ever played. My question is, I need versatility and I mean, single coil, a great PAF for more rock stuff and of course a great voice 1 for agressive metal, skate punk, nu metal, and so on.. Do you recommend me the Abasi or the Merrow’s Fishman? I could go for the classics for the voice 3 too, but I mainly prefer ceramics, as for the KSE it lacks on the low end, the Adlers are basically for Heavy distortion.. This brings me to the two I’ve mentioned.. Whats your opinion on these two? Which one should I go for? It will help me a lot to choose.. Thanks! Cheers from Brazil! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
