I am surprised myself as well considering they have been around quite a while and Ive been deep diving into Japanese rock/metal since 2019. Im hyped to check out more from them for sure!

Hey Shreddawg. It's been a while since I've dropped you a line or two, so it's always a pleasure to see you re-emerge from hibernation with yet another fantastic reaction video. So pleased to see you react to Sokoninaru's most recent musical offering in birth. Musical interplay between the guitar, bass, and drums is next level, which should come as no surprise for those of us in the world with an affinity for all things musical coming from Japan. Sokoninaru have been active as a band since 2011, co founded by Juko Suzuki (Vocals/Guitar) and Misaki Fujiwara (Vocals/Bass), and rounded by Saito Shoto (Vocals/Drums), who joined the band in 2021. Here's a short list of some of my faves from Sokoninaru: Tenohira De Odoru, Brilliant City, Saitei, piorthythm stabilizer - only your world. I could go on, but I'll spare you for now, dude. Hey! It has been a while for sure! Great to hear from you! Yeah my uploads have been infrequent. I am trying to set a goal to upload at least 1 video per week. ...we'll see how it goes lol. Its crazy to think they have been around for a while. I guess thats why they sound so great, theyve been playing together for year. Thanks for the additional information! Wow did you recommend something on my Dimrays video?? I feel like that video was so long ago! I actually just checked and I didnt see any comment from that video. I went to my actual video and checked, no comments. I changed the sort option to show newest first and now I see your comment. I think the comment was "hidden" from me because of the link that was included. In my settings I have "allow links" checked but I never get any notification for a comment with a link. The comments also never show up in my YT studio page. Im sorry I never saw the comment. I feel like I owe you a shoutout! Im pretty sure ive seen the video already. If I remember correctly it looks like its shot on an iphone. I dont think I can provide an authentic "reaction" to the song. Is there any other band/song you want me to check out? Yes, more sokoninaru. This song is more chill than their usual stuff although this song has a lot of technical stuff. Check out any MV and you'll be amazed, because it can't go wrong with sokoninaru

Hey! This week has been interesting... ive gotten like no sleep. It seems the sun is starting to come up early... I got home from the gym around 3:30am this morning and by 5am it was already pretty bright... So basically I didnt get to sleep till around 7:30 am >.>

Hi Shreddawg and thanks for reacting to this wonderful band. They are a math-ish group that combines technical math-rock elements with smooth J-pop vocals. I love that combination although their math-rock side does not appeal to everyone. They are my second favorite to Band-Maid as both groups put so much into the composition of their music. Was fortunate to see them in Tokyo last year and watching them perform live was jaw dropping. Thanks again!

I think they are really good. The bassist is a badass for sure! The drums/guitar/vocals all great. DAMN! You saw this band live??? Thats sick! Not gonna lie, im pretty jealous lol. Ive only heard this song from them so far but considering they have been around since 2011 I bet they put on a hell of a show! Ill be back in Japan in October, im going to try and catch a few shows again between traveling around. I might finally go to Fukuoka... well trying to plan to do that anyway. Ill be in Tokyo for at least a week, this is a band that will be on my radar for sure! Im hoping I KNOCKOUT FES Autumn will be happening again when im in Tokyo. Theres a potential to see a lot of cool bands!

@@Shreddawg Yes, all three of them are awesome players and the complex stuff they play is mind boggling. They are doing a tour in Japan in September and their tour final is at the Daikanyama Unit in Tokyo on the 29th so maybe you will have a chance to see them. My wife and I will be attending and catching a few other shows while we are there. We met you at the Nemophila concert at the Echoplex last year and hope to see again sometime.

I am planning to land in Tokyo I think on Oct 24. I plan to stay till mid Nov but I want to go to Nagoya and Fukuoka this trip so ill have to figure out my travel plans. I hope you have an awesome trip! Oh damn we met at Echoplex??? I remember talking to a bunch of people there. I also remember that line taking forever to go through and I think we got in late, right? Oohhhh yeah! I know exactly who you now! I always enjoy passing out BOSS at shows. I remember during the Pandemic I would buy BOSS because it reminded me of my trips to Japan. Now I share it with others along side my love for music!

You know me ... I tried to do some research on the band because that always makes it more enjoyable for me. It appears if you visit the website, the "drummer" has always been sort of a fill in. They appear to be a 2 piece band actually. I tend to think of it like a Glim Spanky situation ... which actually works quite well in their case. You also know most of the vocalists you and I follow are female, so this took a little adjusting, but the trade offs help. Overall I will continue to try to seek out some more of their stuff to listen to.

Yeah I often find myself learning a bit about the band after im done editing and I start working on the thumbnail. I like to incorporate things about the band or the song. Maybe the colors they use from their website etc. In this case, I didnt see that about the drummer. Thats pretty crazy. I agree, I normally listen to female vocalist but this dude is pretty good. The music is awesome! Bassist is FIRE!

Hi. Love this group for everything they do musically and they are also cool AF! Their current drummer Shoto Saito joined them in 2021 as an official member and also does backing vocals. It is just crazy watching them play and sing at the same time. In trying to piece together some of their interviews I think he has had quite a influence on the group and am glad they are now a true power trio.

@@BMCanuck The website is confusing. It makes it look like they have no permanent drummer. The splash page just shows a photo of Juko and Misaki ... so that is a little misleading I guess. The profile does say they are a 3 piece. Strange marketing ;) :p .

This band is utterly insane-sounding. So unique and so good. So many fantastic Japanese trios making superb music these days.
