The original piece was for harpsichord, so there's definitely I think an argument against playing sustenuto

@@sergebeauchamp4787 The harpsichord CAN play sostenuto!!! :D And articulation is key to harpsichord playing. Staccato is just one kind of articulation.

@@cvlen Sokolov plays everything staccato, thats why many times his versions sound bizarre and out of place. A great pianist but with an obsessive staccato.

Sokolov is known for his "slegato" (non legato), it's actually the perfect balance between to much staccato and too much legato.

He is adorable. His jumping hands are incredible. And his hands seem small

私は彼のコンサートを3度聴き、ピアノの本当の音、響を知った。ピアニッシモの粒立ち、フォルテではピアノがボディが膨らむ様な響き、決して音が割れない音でした。 脱力は勿論、懐とキーとの高さのコントロール、が完璧！
