JUST discovered this band... and I keep seeing comments saying this sounds like a Tool cover band or a cheap copy... 1st, they sound nothing a like, thats like saying Korn and Slipknot and Disturbed sound the same, they dont, and second, I am having one of the best "new music discovery moments" in my life listening to this band, it's simply amazing

Well said! My sentiments exactly. I've been listening to them for years. One of my favs after Tool. But these guys have their own sound. I love tool fans, but a few of them think that if another band plays in drop D, they're ripping off Tool. There's being a fan and being stupid. Those guys are just stupid. Enjoy, you have lots of tracks to get excited about because they've rarely made a bad one. Cheers!

As a lifelong Tool fan, this is nothing like any Tool song. Similar to Opeth's softer work but still different, more Epic?. So far really diggin this band and their songs.

I’m also sick of people comparing Soen with Tool, like Tool is the mold to progressive rock/ metal. Tool ain’t that special and releasing an album every 25 years doesn’t do much good either. People who compare everything to Tool need to stop scratching the surface and also they need to shut up in comment sections. Soen is its own band with its own vibes and dynamics. It’s incredibly musical and fills me with tons of emotions. Much like Katatonia ( see what I did there)

Just listened to the new album and immediately came back here, to remember the kind of music these guys used to put out. Deep, creative, masterful. Damn, I miss them.

Within weeks of hearing the song 'Lotus', I bought all four of Soen's CDs, and listen to them frequently. My new favorite band.

Soen Lyrics describe someone that is looking for answers in other realms. Meeting Entities, seeing visions, gathering answers in a search for self finding. I am too this person. A search for truth, for the understanding of who we are and where we come from. I too share this visions and journeys in the other side, by my self in secrecy from this world. This is called having class. At the same time, spiritual music.

My god... This song!! There are good songs. Songs you love, and then your favorite song. But this.... This song haunts and destroys me. Every time I hear it, it is like another, different buried memory is forced up and exposed. Good and Bad. Pain, Happiness... Loss. Beauty and Waste. Beautiful Work. I have thought of covering this song, but I can not. It's so damned frustrating! I can't get past it. There are a few other songs that I can only rarely pull off before I crack. "The Words" though, is clearly my Emotional Vocal Threshold. Even singing along with this vid, somewhere along the way I feel simultaneous laughter and tears , then I choke. It is so predictable, aggravating and fantastic. Thank you Soen. Thank You for Breaking me. LOL
