This song is a hit and miss for you apparently...

The bass player is the unsung hero on this whole album imo. Tasteful and groovy playing

Early contender for album of the year. One of my favorite bands right now.

Their drummer, Martin Lopez is the former drummer from Progressive Folk Death Metal kings, Opeth. He's an absolute beast on the drums, and is one of the best modern drummers of any genre IMO. For some, it may border on "blasphemous" for some Tool fans (I'm also a HUGE Tool fan) to say no matter what some may say about Soen being a Tool rip-off/sounding too similar to Tool/APC etc, Martin Lope IMHO, is one of the few drummers out there that can even pull off the technical prowess AND raw ability to compare to Carey. I mean that as both a compliment to Lopez and that Carey is one of the best modern rock/metal drummers, especially within their "genre", whatever genre you would put them in, if you choose to label/pigeonhole them. The fact that longtime Tool fans would even admit to a "similar" style/sound, as they say, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I believe Lopez said that he actually looks at Tool as their own genre, a very admirable compliment to Tool indeed. On topic of Lopez, I was fortunate enough to have met him in person at a meet n greet at the 'Sounds of the Underground' festival outside of Philadelphia. Lopez departed Opeth because supposedly was suffering a are blood disorder, that and did not want to tour anymore to paraphrase. Other whispers were that he had a drug addiction, which IMO, is irrelevant, I've suffered addiction so I would never pass judgement even if that were the case, I'm just genuinely happy to finally see him doing what he loves and is so very good at, playing music!

I just started listening to metal because of these guys.

If you have the chance to see them live, I can only recommend it. Truly passionate musicians that try to make their show into something special - was also great to chat with them in person afterwards.

Martin Lopez from the late 90s to mid 2000s was the best drummer in metal on earth. Opeth was NEVER the same after he left. Especially live. Great to see him back kicking ass.

this song is a masterpiece ❤ for me it sounds like violet thunderbolt, so sparkling and aethereal! though Imperial's awesome, lykaia still remains my favourite soen's album 🌹

I'd have to say Joel is probably the best modern metal vocalist I've heard. At least for pure clean vocals. Such power and tonality.

This band is so complete! melodic and powerful.

It doesn't make sense to tell to not turn away from lies. Because the intended message seems to be the opposite.

I recently heard this band for the first time. Now they are my absolute favorite band in the world.

Love this band so much, they are super unique in their lyrics and tone

Steve DiGiorgios playing on their first album was a reason to compare them with Tool. But now their music has nothing to do with them. Maybe you can compare them with Opeth, but that's it. They have a musical personality of their own. The fact that the singer is Maynard's lookalike doesn't have anything to do with both bands' creativity.

Αδερφέ μου, ο DiGiorgio νομίζω πως με τόσες μπάντες που έχει ασχοληθεί είναι πολύ κοντά στο να θεωρηθεί sessionας, οπότε γενικά πηγαίνει σε διάφορα ενδιαφέροντα projects και λογικά είδε τους Soen σαν ένα από αυτά. Αλλά πιο πολυ υποθέτω πως έφυγε για να αφοσιωθεί στους Testament.

+Χάουτου Μπέιζικ I agree. They kinda look alike. Especially a vid I saw about Maynard's winery, could really make out his facial features then as he wasn't standing in the shadows. Soen's singer doesn't sound like Maynard. He sounds like *someone*, and for awhile I couldn't put my finger on it. . Then I realised... and pop rock haters aren't gonna like this. . His voice actually sounds more like Daughtry.

It is wonderful that i found this band and their great music.

They should tour I would love to see them LIVE! I've LOVED these guys since I first-heard them..They have such a signature sound and it's a killer one lyrically and musically the riffs and beats and the blending is just phenomenal.. They are the new top prog rock in my opinion!

just discover these guys two weeks ago and I loved it since the beginning. they sound like tool?! awesome! more bands like them for us who like good music to hear! honestly, these last album is kinda different from that style but still is fantastic.
