Ok first I have to say that your voice is hypnotizing, so it was a bit difficult to pay attention to what you were saying at first! LOL ! It is good to see a viewpoint from "outside" of Social Work. Most Social Workers only consider themselves a Social Worker once they have their MSW (Masters in Social Work) - any less education would simply reflect a job title, not that they were actually in the profession of Social Work. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker can get a job almost anywhere at anytime, and everywhere I have ever lived, there has always been a shortage. Holding the job and making more money means that you have to be good at what you do, be in the right job fit for you, and continually improve. LCSW's who are competent can have multiple income streams, not just one job, as you always have offers to contract or work for someone else, doing various things. Difference in earnings are also based on where you live (cost of living). Just wanted to give this feedback, as this kind of info will never be reflected in statistics. :)

Social work is a great and rewarding career if you love helping people, here at Ontario after getting my Social Service Worker diploma i worked at Ontario Works Social Assistance for almost 20 years now, I started as a Case Management Clerk for 12 years, then Intake Worker for 2 years, Employment Counselor for 2 years, which were all between 34k to 57k a year, and now i make well over 90k a year as the Social Services Administrator which means i oversee all program and service delivery, program management, staff administration, etc.. you have to work hard to get to where you are, your salaries will progress in time and experience.

Social workers work in fields that are nonprofit, so there will be less money and less pay. As a social worker if you want to make any kind of money, you need to go work for a company that is for profit or get into upper level management in a hospital or at the state and federal level.

My aunt made about $160,000 a year as a social worker, she had done it for 40 years before she retired. But in the beginning she made about minimum wage. There is growth in the field but you have to work you butt off like she did. Keep in mind she was not a manager either.

Yes, this means that I am here to make people feel stupid. That I spoke to someone who talked about her kids. That she is great because she is a mother. People constantly ask me what what asexuality is. I am so surprised that people can’t tell that I am. That I wish people away from me and let me be myself. No one has the right to change me. But people are prejudiced. Especially social workers. And I have proof. Just listen to one. Then you’ll find out that they have weird thoughts about certain groups. I am highly disappointed. That my dead psychologist started a rumor about me while I suffered from akathisia. My dad smiled at me when I was in pain. That no one gives a damn. I am frustrated. I don’t trust anyone. They talk talk talk. Say dumb things like they are tired. Just because I have a different sexual preference, it doesn’t mean that I am sick. Just say chemically abused. Cause there is a lack of human rights in the United States. I wish that there is a video about Human Rights. That is important. And they don’t have time for more important things like monkeys locked up in cages for life. All what they care about is money. The ones that I met were insensitive and judged me by my ethnicity.
