Yo! A quick summary of roles that Jasmine graciously gave us! :D 1. Case Managers 2. Assessors 3. Researchers 4. Policy Officers and Councils 5. Tudors 6. Lecturers 7. Mental Health Workers 8. Counselors 9. Intake Workers 10. Therapist
In Switzerland social workers have 3 specializations : - educator (more focused on the person and daily life), - social assistant (more focused on administrative work) - and animator (more focused on the group and animations)

Came across your video, very interesting. Here is the US a person must have a social work license to be a Social Worker. It’s confusing to the general public and frustrating to social workers who are licensed. Thanks for your video and educating.
Hi Jasmine, lovely videos, just wondering if you could do a video on preparing for a social work interview and questions that might be asked. thank you

Thank you so much for the information! It’s really helpful. May I know that is it mandatory to go through the accreditation process apart from the Masters degree, to become an assessor in Australia?
Thank you for the video 😊 very informative . Though I am a bit more curious with the disability & age care section in revelance to social work.

Thank you Jasmine 😊. If you don't mind can you make a video discussing what is the difference between a social worker and a counselor. I recall in one of your videos, you mentioned how the role of the social worker is not to give advice to the client. You just do your best at assisting them with the services that are available geared towards their situation. I have researched what is the difference but it can get confusing. Thank you.

Hi Karen, Social work theories underpin counselling and this is why social workers can be counsellors too. But I am happy to do a video clarifying the advice giving aspect. Counsellors generally do not give advice either. xx

I am currently deciding on whether I should pursue a Masters in Social Work or a Masters in Mental Health Counseling (I did appreciate your video on the differences and similarities of the two!)...but my question for you after watching this video is, could someone who has a Masters in Mental Health Counseling also work in these same roles?

Can you do a video on pros and cons working for a non profit vs profit agency? And private vs public? I love your videos. Any advice on how to choose an internship? I only have to choose in the fall of next year.

Hi Love, I have not worked for a profit agency but i could certainly consider putting together a video re working for a non profit agency. Regarding internships, id query whats available for students in these agencies, what work is required of you? do u get supervision etc. you don't want to end up making coffees and photocopying all the way through your internship. Hope this helps x

Jasmine Ama True it’s just a struggle because I want to help many populations. The main population I have always and still want to help are people who are homeless. I also want to help people with cognitive and/physical disabilities, teens with depression and the LGBTQA community. I think we will get a list of agencies and yes we will be supervised. And I will make sure I won’t be just making coffee and copies. Thanks girl:) hugs

I appreciate your videos! I am currently studying social service work and im planning on upgrading to social work I like what I am learning I just dont know where I fit in. I love children so I could see myself in child protection, but Im not sure. I am interested in fair trade but Im not sure what I could do within that setting since I dont want to work directly with policy. I really want to make a difference in the world its just right now I feel very nervous about if this is the right carrer path for me and where I fit in that would be a good fit for me and that id feel like im really contributing to the world and doing a good job. do you have any advice for me?

Hi thank you so much for sharing helpful information, Im thinking about taking a degree in Australia and my goal is to become a mental health social work doing associated therapists job, they all seem to be confusing for me to be honest, anyway, I was thinking if you could tell me after becoming a qualified AASW, what processes or accreditation should it be pass through in order to become an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW), and what exactly it is? I appreciate if you sort it out for me.
