Social workers: Assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE): Challenges and rewards

www.scie.org.uk/socialcaretv/i...
Social workers' jobs are complex. They need to develop skills, knowledge and professional competence. During their first year in practice Social workers will face many challenges, but will achieve just as many rewards. This is known as the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE).
A new film, launched today on Social Care TV, shows how effective a good ASYE can be for social workers and their employers. The film was made in collaboration with Skills for Care and The College of Social Work. Social Care TV, from the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), bring the topics alive through the stories of people who use services, their families, friends, and staff who support them.

I’ve just been accepted on an MA Social work degree and I had social workers when I was young, some good some bad. I look forward to being the social worker I needed when I was young.

I wish there wasn’t so much a of professional facade to this profession. It’s okay to be human, it’s okay to dress and talk in a certain manner. Social workers are expected to be perfect human beings 🥴

Yes, behind the scenes there is a lot of oppression and discrimination towards minority ethic workers in the same LA. It interesting because social work employers are meant to promote anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practices 😪

Oh is this assessment based on the number of lies you can tell, or the number of lives you destroy in a year? - As for skills knowledge and professional competence, well one useful skill is to be able to drive someone to their deaths, through the distress you cause, (Hayley gascoigne) Social workers are horrible individuals and no, I personally have not had any social workers involved with my family, nor have I been through the family courts. But I have seen friends have their lives ripped apart by these very cruel individuals.

Social workers just have a job to do ! If you were a qualified social worker you have to do the job ! You can’t just sit there and watch people destroy themselves or someone else’s life . There are people that need help and that’s why it’s there as a profession just like a lawyer or a police officer . You don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors and that’s why social workers are there for to investigate . Of course your friend would play the guilty part and how social workers took whatever they took from her but that’s human nature and sometimes people can be amazing great actors in life to hide what’s going on behind closed doors . Social workers don’t make decision just because they can do so, they don’t intend to take kids or whatever you think and goes in your mind, in fact is the opposite if everything is great there’s no need for any of it ( case closed ) same as a policeman if it stops and check and don’t think anything on you that is illegal then you can freely go same works with social workers . Life’s a bitch and social workers do not have fun in career like that
