Thanks so much for this. I found some of the tips are very useful for interviews in my own field (non social work), for example seizing the opportunity to sell myself by tailoring the '' Tell us about yourself'' question to the job description; showing classy enthusiasm and readiness to be accepted etc. This is very informative. Hi Olatunji. In addition to all the tips in the video, I will add that you have a look at anti-discriminatory and anti oppressive practices, legislation-the care act, Equality act, human rights act, mental health act, mental capacity act, crime and disorder act and any other relevant legislation. Also look into relevant theories and models of intervention. I would not want to give you too much now, so consolidate whatever you’ve already studied and just enjoy the process. Before I got my social work role, I had a social care practitioner role which I passed the interview for, but never had to take up the job and the tips I have given relates to the interview questions I had. All the best, let me know how it goes.

Hello Omidiwura, I have a video on how to manage anxiety at interviews. Have you seen it? In addition to that, one tip I always use is to let the interviewers know at the start that I feel nervous or anxious and it is because I want the job so much. They usually then relax and try to make you feel less anxious. I also take notes when preparing for the interview in easy to read formats and I’ll ask at the start if I can look at my notes when needed. Most of them have had no issues with this but some may say no. In all, don’t freight too much, follow the tips in the videos as well as these and it will go better than you think. All the best!
