You guys give a better advise than all the other channels that have millions of subs, i am also guilty of trying to achieve perfection in my truck, having a big ram truck and not a lot of free time on the weekends i started correcting and ceramic coating panels each weekend and one day i took my mother to the doctor and parked right in front of the building and realized from the distance i was the truck looked perfect and i was the only one seeing all the paint defects and im glad i opened my eyes because there is a thin line between paint perfection and ruining you vehicle for an obsession, great video, thanks guys

I did, in fact, find DIY Detail after getting frustrated with many things online that are not realistic. It was a continuous pattern of try and fail, buy something overpriced then fail again. I 'm continuously impressed with the knowledge you guys share. Thank you for being honest. Even though you guys don't care for Jeep Wanglers; my 2013 has never looked so good on your advice and products. I get compliments all the time. I haven't tried all of your products due to my budget. But *everything* I've tried in your product line has been far superior and less expensive. I've had my neighbors and other folks offering me cash to detail their vehicles lol. That just how good the end result is with your techniques and products.

THIS is the type of video that needs to go viral!! BTW, my personal gripe in videos.... when they use the tiny detail brush around emblems and cracks. But smoosh the brush out to where the fibers don't actually get into where they are trying to clean.....POINTLESS!!

For over 10 years, I have been using Rinseless for interiors and exteriors and foam like 3 times. Finally, Detailers are catching up. Also, Rinseless can be used inside the house on windows, glass, mirrors, stainless steel, to mop. Everyday I detail, neighbors say I am going to the space because of my hazmat suit, mask, gloves. Sometimes they ask if i am going to a chemical factory or a laboratory. When I have shown them the towels or pet hair I have pulled out then they understand 😜😜

You guys hit on a lot of great topics because real life detailing is nothing like KZread. The cars come in hammered and often times have layers of dirt. You better be able to think for yourself when you find hammered paint which has been repainted off the books. You are going to find a lot of deceitful shortcuts taken by other detailers and used car lots. Rad is an artist and we all know he puts in three ounces of soap in the foam cannon and love it. I hope he keeps doing the same process because we could all take lessons from his work. Thank you guys for a great video.

I cannot count how many paint correction + ceramic coating jobs my last employer would chase every little swirl for 3 days, make it show worthy, then have the customer call saying, "Hey I washed my car for the first time and it's all scratched and swirled." If they said they admitted they went through a car wash it was tough luck. We always advised them hand wash technique with proper soap and tools. If they couldn't at home we would absolutely wash it for free. Nobody took us up on it. After 5 years at it I've concluded all the 99 percent want is to look at their car and go, "oooohh shiny" while rubbing their dry hands over their dry paint in awe.

Hi Yvan! For mobile car detailing, how many meters would you recommend should my power extension cable be for my pressure washer? Because I read somewhere that if the cable is longer than 15 meters then there is a risk of some fuses blowing but I'm not sure if this is true? Also, can I attach any hose to my 20 meter long Karcher K7 compact hose? Love your videos!

Lots of good info here, especially the paint enhancement vs correction. If you detail for money get a paint depth garage. When a customer expects perfection but you can show them how thin their paint is with your gauge readings, they are much more open to the idea of shiny scratches. Men lie, women lie but numbers don’t lie.

Boss, had a good laugh @3:30 about the car looking like you sprayed styrofoam on it 😂😂😂😂😂. Yes sir you are correct about foam being fun. I also liked your comments on extraction. To be completely transparent, I’ve never used one nor do I plan to. I just never felt comfortable seeing seats being over saturated. Also to mention it can cause mold growth. Many have told me, “Well you can get, seat dryers.” That to me is an added cost to my operation that personally is not needed. I prefer a dry extraction. Again, i’ve never use an extractor so this is a biased opinion however, I would not want to inconvenience my customer telling them. They have to wait eight hours for their seats to dry. @19:13, thank you for mentioning safety. I can’t tell you how many detailers I’ve seen not using proper PPE, blowing interiors out with no eye protection, using acid based cleaners with no gloves etc. My apologies for the long winded comment. Keep up the great work. Sending you my positive vibes from Escondido California.

I love the rinseless wash on the inside. I did it on a farm truck the other day. Man it went pretty good. Just took forever because it was so dirty. Now I have rinseless in my bucket on wheels following me. That bucket had to have a saddle and tame it to follow me hahaha. Also with the wheels off. The torque wrench needs to be calibrated every year. And if you drop it it’s over needs to be recalibrated. No one ever does this so most will not torque. Those that do most are not getting to proper specifications.

Being a 40 yr detailer myself I have never ever , not once have had a customer bring a magnifying glass when they pick up their vehicle . I simply explain to them that I will get out what I can . Go as far as I dare but it's the only clearcoat that car will have and sooner or later it will be needed to be done again. Fact is people like shiny things . Detailers need to know the difference between what they see and what the customer sees .

Yea some good tips. I’d personally disagree with wheels off. All it takes is an understanding of how to lift a vehicle and support it (read the vehicle manual) and a digital torque wrench. Find me one person who goes back to any shop to get wheels retorqued. Better yet. Find me one person who had an issue come up because they didn’t after 100 miles.

Orange peel from the factory is not only good, it’s very good! It means no ambitious knucklehead got to your paint and burned down your clearcoat to the base. And as for showcars, the classics are mostly repainted and need to be have the high orange peel spots polished away to match other parts but no panels match unless the entire car is flattened. It won’t matter how much clearcoat is left because it’s now a mirror finish and stays that way because the car never gets driven. However, a true showcar is one that is as close to untouched from the factory as possible, like an unworn pair of sneakers left in the box, tags, stickers and all. If you live in the Northeastern US, kiss that dream goodbye, but just use common sense. Pro tips: If you hear a leaf blower nearby, leave immediately! You don’t want your car sandblasted. I’ll spare you the grooved asphalt and snow storm hazards to run away from but at least park far from any entrance to hardware stores, malls, or supermarkets. Other drivers cause damage you don’t want to find out about when it’s too late. Don’t tailgate at speed either if you want minimal road rash . Bird droppings happen, consider them good luck.

What I can't stand to see is the massive soaking of interiors with foaming products and then using the brushes everywhere. Just seems to me the brushes are forcing the product into all the cracks/crevices instead of actually getting dirt out. Also, every carpet/interior mat will be different based on your region. Here in NW Florida, if I loaded a carpet mat with product/water, it would turn into the beach because of all the sand we have everywhere. Just understand your region and the expectations of "clean" from your customers. We could spend 4 hrs on a vehicle, getting every nook and cranny, and the customer wouldn't even look at it but say "Thanks".

Show us how you clean a really dirty car, one that lives outside all winter and has pollen and green algae in every crack and crevice. Another thing: Your conversational style results in the two of you talking a lot without saying anything. You talk too much and say too little.
