Soaking Fish Fillets in MILK? (Does it Work?)

Ойын-сауық

So, in my previous video about soaking fish fillets, I learned that soaking fish fillets in water overnight removes almost all of the excess blood, leaving perfectly clean fish fillets. However, a bunch of you guys told me to try milk and saltwater, so that's what we're doing today! Leave me some more suggestions for things to try in the comments and enjoy the video!

I don’t season the fish until it’s fried. Salt burns in the grease so I’ve found that it is better to lightly season with Louisiana Cajun seasoning and black pepper that I have premixed together and it is delicious.

when using that breading it's not necessary to season the fillet beforehand? i take it the breading already has enough of the salt and seasoning?

Buttermilk will do the best job. Grandma used to pour it down a drain near the back of her house and it would kill the smell that it a little bad every once in awhile.

i learned not to keep the fish in milk for more than couple hours otherwise they become a bit too mushy, tried this with catfish, also for panfish i prefer just to give them a quick rinse and then salt them they taste more flavourful and better texture after frying then if you soaked them in any kind of liquid overnight but when i make whole fish i tend to soak them in salt water with vinegar for a couple hours rinse and salt them overnight before frying

Different soaks for different folks lol. Almond milk, lemon juice, coconut water, onion extract, ginger wine, beer, different vinegars or buttermilk. The salt soaks are the least healthy so I never use em but if you do I would suggest using sea salt or your favorite substitute like No Salt.

Butter milk does the job the best and you can really tell the difference between the other all you have to do is add vinegar 2 to 3 table spoons to get the butter milk effect you will not regret it fishon!!!!!
