Hia! I filmed this video a few weeks ago (so if you’ve seen on Instagram that I got a haircut recently - my hair hasn’t grown impressively fast) :P
I’ve talked about this before, but here’s a slightly different take on it! I hope it helps, I do apologise if the video is a bit all over the place. I didn’t write down any notes, and it’s a very big topic, so I just said whatever came to mind, hehe.
Bottom line - when overthinking gender, you may think “what even is it???” and to be honest, I don’t really have an answer. They say it’s a “feeling”, but feeling masculine or feminine doesn’t dictate your gender, because there’s femininity and masculinity in all people of all genders, there are super feminine boys but that doesn’t mean they’re actually girls. What helped me decipher those feelings was/is dysphoria, and it took me some time to figure out what truly was dysphoria and what exactly I felt dysphoric about. It’s taken years, pretty much. So if you’re currently questioning your gender right now, I know it’s confusing and that you want immediate answers. The best advice I can give is to experiment, see what makes you comfortable, and over time you’ll figure it out (and if you don’t, that’s fine too! You don’t need a label if you don’t feel comfortable with one!)
It’s like getting to know every other part of yourself, it’s part of growing up or simply living life and discovering a bit more about who you are each and every day you’re alive.
Do what makes you happy right now. If you’re worried about that changing in the future, welp, then you do what makes you happy then. Simple is that. Wishing you all the best x
