As a Ohio State Fan, I been telling my friend who’s also a OSU Fan yesterday that it wasn’t Kyle McCord fault for why Ohio State lost. It’s a coaching issue. I saw a lot of OSU Fans blame Kyle McCord and I just don’t understand it. We couldn’t even beat Michigan when we had CJ Stroud.

I completely agree that McCord’s big misses were bigger than his INTs. He had a few (not many but a few) wide open WR at key points in the game that could have gone for BIG BIG gains or even scores and he just threw it into the dirt or into the opposing bench. Those were in totality, a bigger issue. Well, bigger than his first INT anyways. Kinda hard to argue the second. I still think this is less on McCord than Day, but McCord left a good amount of yards out on the field. Not to mention a few of his receivers not helping him out with some drops.

Yeah that 4th and 2 decision was terrible. Defense got pushed around in that last drive but they still kinda gave us a chance to win if we drive down and scored a TD . What I personally think lost is the game for the most part was not getting the 4th down stops and day making questionable calls. That controversial td coulda gone either way just happened to be called td. Despite losing and feeling that we could have won the game just didn’t execute when it mattered. Michigan earned this tough win and didn’t make mistakes like we did. They are a good tough team they may finally go all the way this season. As of right now Michigan is our dad till proven otherwise. I agree with you that Day's decision to kill clock and then kick a 52-yarder (which was missed) at the end of the first half was huge. However, there WAS another potentially pivotal play that I've seen little discussion about: On 3rd down, Xavier Johnson caught a pass in the flat and then sprinted upfield -- but was marked just short of the 1st down marker. Day elected to punt on 4th and 1, and I DO think that was the right call there. But, I've seen replays of that Johnson play, and to me, it looked like he got it. BUT, there was absolutely zero protest from Ohio State. Not from Johnson, and not from Day, who chose not to challenge the spot. I think there would have been a decent shot at overturning the call on the field. It just seemed strange to me, even at the time when I was watching the game. Day was bitching and moaning nonstop before this, it seemed, and didn't say peep about that spot.

JJ didnt have any big time downfield throws? Did you watch the game? He was dropping dimes and threading needles. The TD to Roman Wilson was threaded perfectly between 2 defenders in the space of a shoebox. Twice in third and long hitting TE by splitting LB less than a yard away from each other. Did he throw any 60 yard passes? No. But to say he “managed” those important 3 yard passes as the majority of his repertoire on Saturday just isn’t true.

I didn't see the kick attempt or the rest of The game, I didn't need too! I knew then, he was playing not to lose. Good video. Regardless of ohio bad coaching spots thru out the game, michigan also had bad coaching spots thru out the game. Kyle throwing the ball because he was about to be sacked and was intercepted is what cost them the game. If he didn't throw it, they would have had maybe enough time for one more play. Could have gone either way at the end, and that's how you know if it was a great game or not.

Some of those throws JJ made were absolutely incredible. I see some pwople comparing him to McCord in terms of stats the last few weeks before this game, but they are completely different players. JJ is a 1st round pick. McCord is a brand new QB. McCord isn't bad by any means, but he's nowhere near JJ. I believe voaching was the problem here. Moore called way more aggresive plays, he called plays to win the game and not justkeep it close. Day called plays to just hopefully squeeze out a win in the end and it didn't work out. He got beat by an interim coach.

I don't even know if McCord can make that 4th down. If they miss Michigan gets the ball at the 35, with a few plays they are within field goal range. Plus Ryan day was put in harder decisions than Sherone Moore as Coach Moore had to deal with a 4th and goal at the 1 which is a no brainer and 4th and 1's in Ohio state territory. Ryan Day had a decision to go for 4th down at his own 46, and then also the field goal before half with the risk that Michigan goes down and kicks a field goal.

Defense didn’t sell lmao, they gave up like 23 points to Michigan, I think Ryan day called a great game offensively there was a lot of open stuff, the problem came down to Jim Knowles being too conservative by barely blitzing at all, I understand that cooked them last year but only blitzing 4-5 times in this game is just crazy. Also yeah Ryan day does have to man up and go for some of these 4th and shorts but that wouldn’t have determined the game, the game was flipped heavy Michigan first quarter when Kyle threw that pic, they know they needed more than 7 points to beat Michigan but that wasn’t but you also know that wasn’t gonna be the only points Michigan scored, so they had to dig themselves out of a whole early in a defensive game

I agree that Michigan doesn't allow the long/big play very often and makes teams play in front of them, which means the 5 - 10 or even 15 yard passes are open, but Maryland had some success being aggressive and they DO NOT have the talent at WR of OSU. Look at what Day did on 4th and 2 at the end of the first half. He went for a 51 yard field goal? He had time for more. That in no way was being aggressive. Michigan was 3 for 3 on 4th down, but Day didn't go for a single 4th down.@@mikejohn4200

I don't believe Knowles blitzed once on that final UM possession. I think he was so worried about getting burned deep that he never sent more than 4 people. He should’ve sold out once UM crossed the 50 yard line. It could've led to a punt and more time on the clock.
