I agree. CJ was torching the Georgia defense. He scrambles for a first down with a min or so left. Instead of keeping his foot on the gas, day calls a draw play, settles for a field goal. They miss!!!! As a Michigan fan, I just am in awe of the talented players there but love watching the team lose.

As a huge Buckeye fan I agree with you! Don’t understand what he is doing sometimes! With all that talent, your right, he doesn’t take advantage of it, he will choose to run the ball, when it’s not working, because the other team loads the box, so just throw the damn ball to the best receiving core in the nation, with the best receiver in Mazz Marv! Just makes me crazy, never have been a coach of any kind, but could make better decisions than I have seen him make in many games! It’s unbelievable! 🌰🏈

Coach Day understands all of this and is working with what he has. It's why the university hired him. If you were at the helm - I bet your tone would change, STAT.

After watching OSU try to sit on a 3 point lead and refuse to throw when there were 8 stacked in the box for 4 straight possessions confirmed what I said after he didnt trust CJ Stroud for an additional 10-15 yards last year against UGA. He has no balls and is the reason they are losing.

Oh my Lord. They played the most underrated team in college football, and exceptionally good Missouri team, with a third string quarterback last minute. No coach on the planet was going to change the outcome of that game.

Really because the state of Ohio is struggling in that are because they're not permitted to have the spring football states like Texas, Georgia and Florida have where all the talent is coming from. That's why Ohio State brings in so many recruits from those states. If Day wasn't get those recruits it would be problem.

I wouldn't go soo far and say we have nothing to show for it but I will agree that we don't have enough hardware to validate the successful recruitments we have had in place. Coach Day is more of a tactician than a "rah rah!" Fire up the players' type of coach. On-screen, he seems like a very logical X's & O's person and not a step-on-your-neck type of competitor.

Ohio State had fallen? They went 11-1 in the regular season, lost to Michigan by one score and has a great recruiting class coming in. The loss to Missouri was because they had to start a backup QB with virtually no playing time and when he got injured the had to go to a QB with even less experience. Ohio State fans are getting as fragile as Michigan fans.

Jim Harbaugh lost multiple times to TOSU . 8 straight and 7 straight for TOSU this minimum. The rivalry goes back and forth in chunks. That's what makes it different. You are right about Ryan not being great . He is the best TOSU can get. If all his stars align he can win like Dabo or Lane. They all can't adjust for the talent they have. It has to fit into the system they run. Saban, Kirby and urban are rare. They can make great teams around the talent they have not a system they run.

ok as an OSU fan this game was painful to watch, Ryan Day shouldn't be fired, but a lot needs to change. For one he shouldn't be the OC, he was great under Urban Meyer but the combination of HC and OC is keeping him from being able to call a damn football game. It's hard to get an elite coach. The people who have to make the decision are poorly equipped to pick a coach because an elite coach will always have some noticeable personality trait that makes them uncomfortable. When UM got with Harbaugh and they met in the middle, Jim takes half pay but keeps his job, that was uncommonly wise.

If Ohio state doesn’t change their program they are going to continue this trend. This is all going to hurt them down the road. Look at how these players are vacating the team. Not good!

How does a top football university with a ton of QB talent for a decade end up with no QB talent?? It defies logic. I don't ever want to see, again, starters standing on the side lines at a bowl game while 2nd and 3rd stringers are given the task of salvaging OSU's football reputation. You lost the dam Michigan game. Get your asses in their and win the bowl game. The level of greed and self-serving attitudes in this program, from the coaching staff to the players, is disgusting. But what's sad, is Day's not going to do a dam thing about any of it. He sits at the top of the problem heap.

If you are a true buckeye fan, you would know ONLY Marvin chose to sit out of the Cotton Bowl, and it was only becauset he coaches urged him not to play sicne he is a top 5 (20 million dollar bonus) draft pick.

In my opinion Players should be mandated to complete their team responsibilities for an entire season as part of the privilege of playing for the institution regardless of post season opportunities, aka: NIL, NFL or transfer portal.

yep, most people hate to hear the truth. this year has to be the final example of Days incompetence. The big 10 was horrible this year and day squandered talent like harrison , Saban would have beat Indiana and the rest by 50 with this team and the young players would be on the field in the second half , also there would be no QB fiasco , Saban would not of let quinn ewers go, hell wisconsins second string QB was better than any QB for osu. even so , teams like Alabama are much better at developing players and calling plays. Sadly this program is on a downward spiral spite of some good talent on the field . Thanks for speaking the glaring truth.

I may be biased because I’m a Michigan fan but like who are you gonna replace him with? When people were calling for Harbaugh’s job and I didn’t like the guys coaching back then and I love the improvements he has made. But I would always say “who are you going to hire to replace him” same with penn st’s coach. Who would be better?

I think they are giving Day time to hang that hundred on Michigan he was talking about a couple years ago before firing him. Personally, I think that is quite considerate of the OSU AD.

It’s sad because I like Day a lot but he’s a head case and not cut out for this job. It’s like giving the keys to your lambo to your 16 year old

I am a Michigan Wolverine fan and Day is going to kill that rivalry because Ohio St. just sucks and it is no fun when they are terrible.. It's fun when they are good or even better than Michigan; because then I could root for Michigan to upset them and knock them out of championship contention.. Now I almost feel sorry for them. Last night they literally had who looked like a linebacker playing QB and it was just miserable to watch..

The rivalry will always be there. Ryan Day won't kill it any more than John Cooper did. And I will always be for Michigan (and anyone else!) against Ohio State!!

As an Ohio state fan I really wanted to give Ryan day a chance after his first loss against TTUN, but after his second loss against TTUN and how much we saw how incompetent he is when it comes down with play calling, coming up with a good back up plan if things weren’t going right I was done with this guy, and I’m also sick tired of trying to reason with Ohio state fans of why this guy is awful every time I get hit with the same old excuses, “oh but he has good record” “oh are we really going to fire him over a few games” “it’s pretty childish to blame the head coach”.

Ryan Day is a politician, not a head coach!

you can’t call ryan day a fraud when he made the playoffs and nearly beat Georgia having 1-2 losses a year is extremely good.. Why would they fire him for losing one game..And who would they possibly hire that’s better?

It’s a VERY long list of coaches that would be better than Ryan Day.In no particular order off the top of my head-Kyle Whittingham,Jeff Broughm,Lane Kiffin,Mike Vrabel…hell I’d be happy to see Brian Hartline.any of these guys would at least PLAY TO WIN AND HAVE THE TEAM READY.UGA fans said the same thing when they had Mark Richt.

I am bot saying Ryan Day doesnt have some faults and work to do. He is on track that if he coached 28 yrs like Woody, he will blow away all of the records. He is is on track to have over 300 plus wins by the end of his career. He recruits well, he just has to get the pieces together with coaches and players.

Correct me if im wrong but ohio state is sorta going through what Nebraska was going through a couple of years ago. Back when Nebraska still had very high standards. The head coach at the time (forgot name) was getting them to 10-2, 9-3 seasons and the fanbase was unhappy with performance so they fired him. Needless to say, nebraska never reach those heights since. Now if ohio state fires ryan day, could this same thing happen? Probably not, but i would imagine they would under perform for at least a year or two under a new coach. Be careful what you wish for is all i can say. #MattBeClappingRyanDay

@@ggrene8266People called for Tom Osborne’s head too at first. He would win pretty much every game but he couldn’t win the “big ones”. Everyone wanted him fired until he was finally able to break through and field dominant teams. Now he is considered one of the best coaches in CFB history.

Depends who they hire if they get rid of Day. Urban Meyer had Ohio State at the top when he left and if they could get him back he could probably get them back there. The problem is IDK that UM wants to coach anymore. Outside of that idk who else could get them over the hump that would be willing to go there. They also have to remember it’s not going to just be Michigan they are competing against since Oregon and Washington are coming in next year. I think Ohio State is going to have to get a better coach if they want to do better than 10-2 or 11-1.

I agree. Ohio State fans are overreacting. They're buying into all the negative outside media reaction to what's going on. SEC fan boys like Matt be Great who love to bash Big Ten teams distort things. The Ohio State program is fine. They just had one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. They do have a QB issue to sort out but there's no reason to think they won't be able to. This is just people piling on to them.

Recruiting gurus tout those 5* star guys but genuine recruiting experts like TTUN sees 3* guys they can develop that outshine Days gems.

McCarthy, Edwards and Will Johnson were all 5 stars. Corum was also a 4 star. Michigan recruits high level guys.
